The Wolf Games

Sasha's POV "Mum this is the only way I think I can save you. Please I need your permission to let me compete in The Wolf Games"  I look over to my mum laying on the couch and she's violently coughing. Ever since my mum was rejected by her mate, my father, Alpha James of the Cresent Moon Pack, she has been very sick. She was pregnant with me when he rejected her but he never knew she was carrying his child. My Dad was promised to another she-wolf when he was young as a peace treaty between two packs. If he didn't marry her there would be war.  They say there is no greater pain than your mates rejection and within a few years you become very sick and die of heartache.  That was 23 years ago. When my mother ran away without saying goodbye to anyone, she sought out a witch in Italy who was known to make potions for rejected wolves. You have to take the potion every month or you die from a broken heart. The pain doesn't leave you and you still remain weak but it keeps you and your wolf alive. The witch has tripled her price this month and each potion is 10,000 euros, this is why I need to compete in The Wolf Games in California to win and get the prize money which is 1 million dollars ...there is no other option. When I was young, my mum could still work and support us, but as years went on the heartache took its toll on her body and she got weaker. When I was 13 years old I became a model and could support us so she didn't have to work.  Most first-born babies with Alpha blood are said to be the most attractive wolves. Tall, strong, athletic bodies and an aura that tells people they are important. I am 5'9", super long legs with a surprisingly big bust, long brown hair with almond shape green eyes with an olive complexion.  By the time I was 17 years old, I had to stop being a model because I was traveling a lot and mum needed me. I couldn't leave her alone, always in fear her heart will eventually stop beating. My neighbor Massimo, who is also my best friend and who I call Mo, is part of our pack and took over his family restaurant after his parents died 5 years ago. They died whilst on holiday in Spain from a rogue attack. His parents helped my Mum and me a lot and we consider them as family. When they died I cried myself to sleep every night not just for my loss but for Massimo.  Massimo's mum taught me how to cook from a young age and I learned all the family recipes. Massimo asked if I would work for him and be the chef when he took over the restaurant, I couldn't refuse.  The restaurant is downstairs from our apartment, it was the perfect job. I could make money and take care of my mum, and within six months our restaurant became the best place to eat in Rome. We're booked out for months and it's where all the celebrities hang out. I love my job. Although Massimo pays me well, and I get a percentage of the restaurant takings, it's still not enough to pay that stupid witch. It was actually Massimo, who convinced me to apply for The Wolf Games.  The Wolf Games is a competition open to all werewolves around the world to fight and see who is the strongest wolf in the world. Only the best warriors from every pack and Alphas apply. The winner gets one million dollars in prize money and also the fame and glory. I don't care about fame, all I want is the money so I can take care of my mum. My mum found a pack that she joined in Rome after she left my Dad. The Roma Pack believes in living life among humans and being free. Our Alpha Luca believes in living each day like it was your last. We're lovers, not fighters- that's actually our pack moto.  Wolfpacks around the world think we're weak and all we do is eat, shop, and drink wine all day, 99% of them do, but I know I'm the strongest wolf in all of Italy. Mum has made me train with the best warriors around the world since I was four. I've trained with witches, champion boxers, karate masters. I know over 10 different martial arts and have never lost a fight.  I dated the hottest Vampire for a year. His name was Arthur and he was my first love and always said there was something special about me. He said that sometimes after we would make love or when I was sleeping he would see a gold aura around my body. I've never seen the light but my mum has, and that's why she wanted to make me strong and be able to protect myself. Mum always heard rumors that my father's mum was a witch and had powers. It's very rare for wolves to have supernatural powers and are sometimes hunted and killed. Witches' powers can only be passed down to females and because I'm the firstborn to an Alpha, I have extra strength.  I've never told anyone, not even my mum but one of my special powers is I can slow down time. If I'm in a fight, I can slow time and move and attack quickly leaving my opponent stunned. I use to slow down time when I was with Arthur. I loved staring at his beautiful face and never wanted our time to end. Like all vampires, they're ridiculously good-looking and want to have s*x with every living thing. I thought Arthur was different because he was so protective of me. He taught me how to fight against vampires and although it's against the law to teach another kinds our skills and weaknesses, he said he always wanted to make sure I was safe because he couldn't live without me.  Arthur lived outside of Rome in a beautiful town called Sperlonga. The power went out at the restaurant one night so we decided to close early. I thought it would be nice to surprise him and as soon as I went to his front door I could hear loud moans coming from inside. I knew where he kept a spare key, so I slowed downtime and walked in on him f%$%^ another woman. My heart broke...I watched as he was kissing her breasts and his c**k was pounding her p***y hard. When time caught up and he saw me standing there with tears in my eyes, I told him I hated him and if I saw him again I would kill him. That was the last time I saw him. "Sweetheart, what if you see your Dad? They have a reputation of being the strongest pack in America and have won many Wolf games in the past. You look just like me when I was young, he might realize who you are and take you away. You're his firstborn and hold the Alpha power, he might want you to take over his pack and if you refuse they could kill you. His Pack is right next to The red moon pack who will be hosting the games, many people from my old pack will look at you strangely thinking it's me. What if you find your mate and he rejects you?  You will end up like me and I would rather die than lose you. It's not worth the risk" tears filling her eyes as she's pleading with me. "Mum, I don't want you to worry. Dad has no idea I exist and won't think I'm yours because he would have assumed you died so many years ago after the rejection. Secondly, all unmated wolves that compete must take a masking smell tablet so that no wolf can find their mate during the games. It's genius. I don't want you to worry and I just need you to stay strong until I get back."  I have seen photos of my mum when she was younger and it's crazy how much I look like her. The only difference is my eyes are green and hers are hazel. I'm not worried about seeing my Dad, there's no proof, and if he is convinced I'll reject him and the Alpha title and see how he likes that and kill anyone that tries to stop me from being with my mum.  I was worried about finding my mate, but as long as I can't smell him there will be no pull. If he isn't a contestant and can smell me then I'll run!  The only way you can find your mate is through scent, so if your senses are blocked then no one can smell the mate bond. I'll never reject them because I don't want to kill them but I can run and he can just be with someone else. Easy Peasey. "Mum, I'll only be gone for four weeks and I need you to promise me that you will stay strong. Massimo is going to drop off food to you and Maria from downstairs said she will come every day to keep you company. Just pray to the moon goddess that I win and maybe we can find another witch who can also take the pain away" I look into my mum's eyes and I can see she's worried and not convinced. "Please mum... You're all I have, I can't lose you. I want your blessing" I begged. "OK Sasha, just promise you will not tell anyone you're my daughter and that you will stay safe and return to me" she pleaded. "I promise" I screamed with excitement and hugged my mum tight. I jumped up and pressed send on the online application. Once I heard the sound of the email being sent, I felt relieved.  I can do this...I will do this.  I need to start packing and get to California in four days
