Completed. ***Not Edited***

Sebastian McCain is a single father, raising his deceased brother's daughter. Kristine. Their lives were more perfect than most until he bumped into her. Josephine Lawrence. The vile woman who lay heinous r*pe claims on his dearest brother Lewis. The same woman who gave birth to Kristine and sold her to his family like a sack of maize.

Sebastian wanted to get his revenge on Josephine for the wrong done to his brother, but what he didn't wager on, was falling deeply for her. And neither did she quite honestly.

Nor did he reckon Josephine's own need for revenge.

Sebastian knows she sold her daughter, but Josephine alleges the child was stolen from her arms in the maternity ward. Their unexpected undeniable feelings will thrust them into a whirlwind of chaos, distrust, and romance. And Like any other game, someone has to lose.

Sebastian trailed his long cold fingers on the insides of her thighs leisurely. Josephine trembled gasping for air as those fingers got dangerously... close.

She tightened her hold on him when he nudged her lacy thong aside and his fingers found her already drenching wet folds.

"Is this what you came back for?" He growled thrusting a finger into her with ease. He was losing control fast. What had just started as a game was getting serious real quick and Josephine was too gone to take the insult to heart.

"Please..." She begged unsure of what it is, she really wanted. Sebastian on the other hand had no trouble deciphering her meaning. He added another finger and another stroking her rigorously and in no time, she was clenching fervently around his fingers, coating them with her juices. And then he did the unthinkable. He plopped the said fingers into his mouth, without breaking his heated gaze with hers. She gasped following his every move and he smiled triumphantly. He had her exactly where he needed her to be, under his mercy. Or so he thought.

1:GHOSTS FROM THE PAST
Josephine Lawrence checked her reflection in the elevator mirror, and her red-colored lips stretched into a wide, nervous smile. Her fitted sky-blue pantsuit, paired with a white blouse and black pointy pumps, made her look sexy, confident, and powerful. The soft black tote purse which hung loosely on her wrist complemented the outfit. It was her first time attending such an important merger meeting on her own, and she wanted to look the part. She had been in such meetings before, with her boss, and she had seen how brutal those business moguls can be in their negotiations. She wanted to feel at least confident when she walks into the meeting, to get a favorable footing. The elevator pinged, and she quickly exhaled deeply before stepping out. 'This is it.' She told herself. 'The day I make Andrew and his old man proud.' A very efficient P. A greeted and escorted her to where she needed to be. Upon her entry, a few who had arrived regarded her oddly, probably wondering if she had taken a wrong turn. The thing about everyone expected to attend was, that they knew each other. They were in the same circle, and she as a renowned brand manager didn't even come close to getting invited in. Andrew, her fiancée, and her boss went against his old man's wish and sent her to represent him. He claimed that as his wife to be, she needed to learn the ropes. Josephine introduced herself, took a seat, and fetched her iPad Pro from the bag. She connected to the Wi-Fi, opened the XLSX reader, and began going through her presentation once more just to be sure. Almost immediately, the door opened. Two men and a woman sauntered in. “Sebastian,” one of the seated businessmen called jovially, “I thought you won't show,” he teased. “And let you have all the money, Grant?” The supposed Sebastian scoffed, making everyone in the room laugh, except Josephine. Apart from the fact that she wasn't knowledgeable about their banter, there was something familiar about the man's face that made Josephine whack her brain trying to remember if they had ever met. Sebastian's mirth-filled eyes darted around the room, as he moved to take a seat, but froze on the spot once his gaze landed on Josephine. 'It can't be.' He tried to convince his brain, though his eyes were staring right at her. The monster of a woman he had hoped to never see again. He had also vowed to himself that if their paths ever cross again, he will certainly make her pay for the atrocities committed against his brother. He shuddered as the unwanted memories began assaulting his mind, he had to shake his head to dispel them. The anger he had buried years ago began resurfacing and took over his entire being, he shook. He struggled to breathe under the wrath-hazed state, willing his pounding heart to calm. “Sebastian,” he heard one of his friends call, but he couldn't tear his eyes from the shameless woman sitting just a few meters away from where he stood. He had to give her the audacity points. He wanted more than anything to kick her out of the room, but he had to be certain it was the right woman. “Who are you?” He asked gruffly, swallowing hard. In his mind, he didn't know what he would rather hear. If she wasn't the one, then he would definitely exhale in relief and carry on with his day. But that would mean that his brother would never be avenged. And if she is the one, Sebastian didn't know if he was ready to confront the ghosts of the past. Josephine looked at the tall, athletic long-faced man scowling at her and couldn't ignore the misplaced familiarity. His upturned hazel eyes were clouded with obvious resentment for her. Did I perhaps have a one-night stand and ditched him? She gaped, wondering why else he would be looking at her like the worst scum, on the surface of the earth. “I asked you a damn question!” Sebastian bellowed, taking a threatening step forward and narrowed his gaze on her, she flinched. Everyone in the conference room just gawked without uttering a word. Josephine's hesitation had everything to do with Andrew, her fiancée. He had trusted her to be among his business circle despite his father's obvious disapproval. But the man glaring at her screamed trouble, and she was afraid revealing her identity might anger the man more if she is indeed who he thinks she is. 'Maybe you have that familiar face,' her mind taunted, but an inkling at the pit of her stomach told her otherwise. She had encountered the man before. And though she couldn't remember where or why, it had to have ended sourly. Sebastian's first connected with the table, making Josephine mumble hurriedly. “I am Josephine Lawrence, here on behalf of Mr. Andrew Jamestown.” What happened next shocked everyone present. Sebastian McCain stalked to where Josephine sat, pulled her chair, and yanked her up. Audible gasps went up in the room, but he didn't seem fazed by it. He went ahead and carelessly collected her bag and the iPad. “The hell Sebastian?” Grant grumbled, wondering why the ever calm and goofy business mogul was acting like a mad caveman. “She is not who you think she is,” Sebastian roared, dragging her out of the conference room ignoring her weak protests. Once outside, he shoved her hard, she fell on her butt. “You have the nerve showing up here,” he snarled, almost spitting on her. His hand was itching to do something scandalous, his old man would not approve. Grant, who was Sebastian's best friend and a business affiliate couldn't watch him manhandle the woman any longer. He quickly went to Sebastian's side. “Dude,” he scolded. “This…” Sebastian gestured at Josephine, trailing speechlessly. “She…” He breathed trying to articulate a coherent sentence, but he was so angry to do that. He ran his hand through his short black curls, attempting to calm his raging self. Grant's eyes widened as a thought occurred to him. For the longest time he has known Sebastian, there was only one woman he has ever hated. Grant turned his curious gaze to Josephine. Could she be the one? “She is one, Jeff,” Sebastian answered Grant's unasked question. Jeffrey Grant stared at Josephine, wondering why she had the decency of showing her face on the premises after everything she had done to the McCain family. “You need to leave!” Grant spat with so much contempt. Josephine opened her mouth to speak, but Grant went on quickly. “Now!” He couldn't believe the nerve of the woman. “I'm not leaving,” Josephine countered just as harshly. “I came here for a meeting and I will sit through it.” She was stubborn, Grant noted. “Not in my building!” Sebastian growled, pursuing his perfectly proportioned lips. His breathing had labored and the vein on his forehead popped. He was barely holding his anger in. He was close to damning the consequences and grab her by the hair. After all, she did worse to his brother, Lewis. “Your building?” Josephine asked in a defeated voice. Everything was spiraling out of control fast, and she had nothing in mind to remedy the situation. “Please, madam, just leave.” Grant implored hastily before Sebastian could respond. He would rather not see it get uglier. And he knew it would, the longer Josephine stays in the vicinity. Josephine exhaled heavily, turning to fully face Sebastian. “Why do you hate me so much?” Her soft weary tone would have made anyone pity her, but not Sebastian. If anything, her rhetorical question only angered him further. He took a menacing posture, and pretended to think on it. “How about the fact that you are a damn liar. Or should I say a thief?” “What?” Josephine shrieked, taken aback by the accusation. What was the man talking about? It can't be about one nightstand anymore if he is accusing her of being a thief. She was about to ask for clarification when Sebastian McCain spoke again. Calmly but viciously this time. “You ruined our lives, and I am going to make you pay for it.” His thoughts briefly drifted back to that fateful day when Lewis' fate was sealed…
