Caelan has everything. He enjoys the company of women, but love is never his thing when it comes to a relationship.

Scarlette is a firm believer in love. Love makes everything whole. Love always wins.

"Bear me your heart and I'll bear you mine."

A pained moan escaped my lips when I felt my arms ache from seemingly deprived of sensations, and I fathomed out I had been bounded arms and legs, moreover, my legs were spread wide open with each foot being strapped, my heart drummed in fear.

As I pulled against the soft knots, the stinging around my wrists intensified; although it was softly laced, the fear made everything in me sensitive to all sensations running wild within me, shaking me to the core. Apart from that, I am rendered sightless because a silk blindfold blocked my eyes.

"Stop tugging your arms. It's ineffectual." My mouth hung open in a silent gasp when I recognized the owner of the voice. My heart was propelled forcibly like I was kicked by a big truck.

"Caelan..." I whispered.

"In the flesh, though not before your eyes," I could hear the smirk in his voice. The fear of being abducted by some unknown lunatic was gone, but was replaced with apprehension knowing that I was helpless on the bed and he was the prime suspect!

"Why are you doing this Caelan, are you out of your sanity?" I growled. "Untie me! Let. Me. Go!" My voice rose in octave, accentuating my order as I tugged desperately at the restraints. I felt the space beside me plunge, making my heart pound. A gasp left me when I felt his mouth on my earlobe, causing me to hold my breath for seconds.

"Caelan... This is... abduction," I said softly, trying to calm my racing heartbeat when his hot breath brushed my skin, making all the hairs on my skin stand up in attention.

He chuckled wickedly.

"Sshh...this isn't abduction, honey. This is taking what's mine." He said then took my earlobe between his teeth, making me gasp for air.

M.A L’AMOUR Part 1 -Bump- ********************* "Damn that woman. She's like a leech. She thinks she's in control now. I haven't even f****d her yet." I growled in frustration. Logan loudly chuckled. "Looks like you're letting her eat your lunch judging by how you seem so worked up." Blowing raspberries at my situation, he said, "Funny. Ha. Ha. If that woman comes knocking up here, throw her ass out of the building pronto before she can f**k up my day.'' I said as I rubbed my hands over my face. That blond had been giving me the hump these past few days. Just how much I regretted meeting her. I met her at one of my acquaintance's bachelor parties. It surprised me to get an invite since they knew I was never fond of parties of any sort. However, I took in so I wouldn’t appear a party pooper. Presuming it was attended by only men, I got carried away and had immersed myself with the booze, realizing I indeed was having a blast myself until a group of women- who I had already forgotten the exact figure of how many came- were giving us flirtatious lap dances. Anyway, to make the long story short, she was following me like a starved dog. Whoever gave her the idea that she was now a freaking girlfriend, I had no idea, and how she knew where I work was beyond me. Someone must have given it away. She gave me a blowjob two days ago, only that. Without returning the pleasure, she went her way smiling widely, looking like she had just won the lottery. Last night was the last draw. I sprinted back to the exit door to the parking lot when, the moment the elevator opened, she entered. ''Have you forgotten that this isn't your building, buddy?" Logan picked on, breaking into mocking laughs. ''I won't be throwing people out, especially women, too indelicate. Without it being the case, that's what happens when you f**k around like a dog in heat." He muttered, chaffing while sipping his tea. "The hell I would do that. I did not f**k her. I can't... when I know what she's after. A woman like her won’t be getting anything from me." I grumbled. He stood up on his feet and took his seat behind the table. I took the mug and sipped from it, relishing the flavor it gave my tongue. "It's too early for this. Haul your witty ass off my sofa immediately and get home. You stink." He said, scrunching up his nose. I laughed at his cantrip. "I used your private room for a shower last night." "So I'm told. You have my sweatpants on." He griped with his face, now concentrating on the document he was holding. "How's Natasha?" I asked and I noticed his hand holding up the documents halt. "Still unpredictable.'' He mumbled, taking his seat again as if the question just made his knees weak. "Yeah, I told you she's difficult, but you still pursued her. I can't understand. Yes, she's a beauty, but she's giving you a tough time." "Said the man who's running away from a blond," he countered, laying down the papers on the table. "Well, she's not my girl." I retorted hotly. He threw me a flat stare. "Let's see when this comes to you." "I'll dodge away." I chuckled. "Only when you see it coming." "Seriously man, I know Natasha's beautiful but she's capricious." He just laughed. "You don't know her. You think she is the way she is because that is how you see every woman you run into. You're generalizing women. When will you find the main squeeze? Well, I doubt you will." He mouthed, shaking his head. "So... you're at it? You'd marry her?" that shocked me. "Caelan, we're not getting any younger. I want a child; a family and I see that with her. She's perfect for me.'' He sincerely said, looking pensive. The emotion his eyes had shown was no doubt the emotion I always see in those lovesick people’s eyes. "Damn, you're p***y-whipped, Logan. You've only been dating for a year now or two? I don't remember. Did you hit your head somewhere?'' I found it ridiculous. He had been a player who loved p***y too and yeah, that changed when Natasha came into his life. I saw the changes in him. Natasha was indeed a pretty one, but damn if she weren't that unpredictably nutsy woman. For a year or two- since they had dated, Logan had changed. He loved her so much he'd do everything she asked. Everything. And for a reason, I seemed to dislike it. I liked Natasha. She was different from another woman Logan had dated, but it was just so fast. Too early to get tied to a lifetime commitment. The woman was well-intentioned. Yes, she was kind, she loved my best friend and I owed it to her for making him happy. I just couldn't accept that he loved her too much, so he'd settle a life with her. I mean, love was just a word, an emotion. It would fade in time. I have seen people falling in love, yet time parted them, ending up in broken marriages, broken families, and devastated children. And I didn't want it to happen to him. He c****d his head to the side before hooting with laughter. I scowled. The man had just ignored what I was trying to make him understand. "She hits and injures my heart and only she can heal that. I bet you'd never understand, Caelan. I love her, really do. I can't change how you view the word love. It's just that when it hits you, it hits you hard. You'd want nothing but a life with that person forever." "Logan..." A female voice whispered, startling us both. I heard a loud thud followed by a curse. "Shit." The word left his mouth. He dropped from his seat with a sound. Too surprised. He just toppled over to the floor! I laughed. Laughing and laughing was my prompt response, my body convulsed with the intensity of my laugh. I, too, was surprised but seeing Logan's more surprised face was priceless. I bet he had not completely poured his heart out to her, and her sudden visit gave that away. "f**k you," he spat at me as he found his balance on his feet again as he stood at his height. I shrugged. "I'm innocent." The hilarity in the pit of my stomach still stroked chuckles at me. "Sweetness, why too early? Have you been here long?" He asked as he stretched his legs to where she was standing. It was a consolation that he could quickly conceal his embarrassment. His arms encircled her small frame. "Not too long. I just dropped by to give you this. I prepared this for your lunch so that you won't have to buy it outside." She softly said. I couldn't help but smirk at the situation. Her feet fidgeting and hands fiddling with the plastic handle were telling me she heard it all. Oops, she must have also heard what I said! Logan chuckled heartily. "That's so sweet of you. Won't you be joining me for lunch?" He asked, guiding her by her waist to the opposite sofa. I stood up. "I'll leave. My eyes will probably develop sore eyes if I stay longer." Logan snickered and I knew I was right. I went out. For some reason, there was a pang of jealousy that seared in my chest. Jealous? No, it couldn't be. Marriage was for fools. But it was awful of me to think of my best friend as a fool. Dammit. Why did he have to marry? He was happy, and although I was happy for both, I couldn't help but be skeptical about it. Especially when he said it was because of love. He loved her. I scoffed in my head. Love was just an emotion that was driven by the desire to be satisfied, yet once tasted, it slowly faded, leaving a person broken because he or she had wholly believed that love would keep them forever. "Never," I muttered. I reached the parking lot in the basement, got into the car and I stayed for a little while. I heaved a sigh. Logan was getting married. The matter took a whirl in my head again. He might propose to her anytime soon or he had probably just done without a pint of difficulty, for she had heard it all. Maybe Natasha's different. She could be an exemption. I just wished them the best. Yeah…their love could be an exception. I looked at my watch. A quarter to eight. Dammit, my head hurt. Leaning my head on the headrest, I let my hands massage my head for a good minute. It somehow soothed the throbbing pain. Alright. The day had to move forward, and I had to get some work done. I was just about to turn the ignition key on when I heard a bump and a startled "Oops…Oh, I didn’t mean it, " from a woman. Yes, it was a woman. The softness in her voice — although I sensed nervousness in it — the mild, sweet tone grabbed the sharpness of my hearing. It wasn't my car, was it? My eyes rolled in exasperation when I just realized it was my car. Too early to get irritated by some klutz. And based on the groan she made, I'd say she made a scratch on my car or two. Displeased, I checked the left-side mirror to see who on earth would bump into my black SUV in the basement parking lot that had an angle parking car? This building had the easiest parking measures. A scoff emitted from my mouth to see her dragging her bike to the side. Yes, to the side- seeing that my car was parked next to the wall. This place had always been the place where I parked my car — close to the elevator straight to Logan's office. At the back of it was the employee's lift. Moreover, this woman ridiculously, carefully perched her bike next to my car, where clearly was nobody's place to park, for my car would surely hit her bike once I got to move. As my car was tinted, she wouldn't see me. I saw her twiddling her hands, her eyes searching through the tinted window. She was apparently nervous. I wondered who this woman was and why so early? She was wearing a loose white shirt. Too loose for her body, her brown hair was put in a messy bun. She was wearing tight black leggings. If I deduced right, she'd be around 5 feet 7 inches in height. My eyes followed her as she walked back to the back of my car and checked her piece of work. I saw her apprehensively biting the nail on her thumb, murmuring unintelligible words to herself. She walked back to her bike and rummaged for something in her bag in her bicycle basket. Why was I only observing her? I should have scolded this woman by now. What was stopping me then? Probably it was the pure guilt I saw in her eyes that told me what happened was unintentional. Even so, she's a klutz. She was now holding a piece of paper in her hand. She was writing something on it. I waited. This is interesting. She knocked on the car’s front door window and waited for seconds with an expectant look on her face, perchance, thinking someone was inside the car. After that, she wrote something on the paper. I seemed to hold my breath when she, again, looked through the tinted glass. When she saw no one, her lips pouted in disappointment, and she looked down on her watch. Why did that amuse me? She then taped the paper on the glass before scurrying in quick steps towards the employee's elevator, clutching her bag as if she was trying to overtake eight o'clock. I waited for a full minute before I rolled the window down in half and took the paper and read. "There's a scratch on the right side of the taillight of your car. I was in a hurry and bumped into it. I will pay for it. Just leave this paper with your number and I will call you and leave it in the basket of my bike. I'm sorry." A smug smile graced my lips. She was honest then. Hmm, let's see. She would pay for it. My head slightly shook. She looked young, probably an intern. She must be on a tight budget or a struggling graduate paying her education loan. If I charged her with money, it would make things easy for her. I could make it interesting for her to make my day rather interesting. Fishing for my phone, I dialed Randy's number. At the first ring, he picked up. "Can you do a little job for me?"
