Chapter 1 Light Fae
Persephone's POV For years, many dark creatures such as werewolves, vampires, ogres, cyclops, and even Goblins have been fighting.. Mostly over territory, but also for leadership of the areas. Trying to monopolize the surrounding territories to rule as much as they can, for as long as they can. For all the lives who this seems to terrorize on a daily basis, they somehow tolerate it because they have been promised a great future in a prophecy that's been forseen by many different creatures.. This prophecy states that a light creature will bring light, unity, and life to the dead, darkened world that we now live in. There have been multiple who have seen this prophecy taking place and ending the darkness in various ways. So who's to say what the real prophecy shows, if anything at all.. It's been at least a hundred years for me with nothing that proves this otherwise. So we are staying positive with no real reasoning as to why. No one knows if these prophecies will even happen or how, because it's all here, say.. Plus the things you have to know about prophecies is that they aren't set in stone.. anything can change the outcome of the vision. I think most just believe in these to give hope, if not to themselves, then to the ones arpund them that they care for. But with most actions comes good intentions behind them.. Doesn't always mean it's what's right.. Because the prophecies don't exactly say HOW the light creature will help, just that they will help. This has led many dark creatures to take advantage of this to try to make the prophecy happen.. When most light creatures have been captured, they have been used for their powers if they are useful.. or just sacrificed, hoping their pure blood will bring life.. but nothing has seemed to work. So every light creature has fled the areas or is in hiding, not wanting to be found ever for themselves or their families. Which is completely understandable. But no matter where there is darkness, there will ALWAYS be light. Hence why I'm here. I'm a Fae of the light. I only help who I can when I can, and that will never stop. I have always been a healer and always will be, no matter who is there to try try to scare me away. Of course, being a Fae of the light is scary at a time like this.. But when better to be around to help others then in their time of need, when no one else will? So I won't ever let them force me out. I will be here to protect nature until my last day. Mark my words. I'm the last from my clan because they have all been sacrificed fighting for what they thought was right or hiding with their families.. So who could blame them. I would do the same, but I don't have family.. Mine passed on when I was very young, so I have always had to fend for myself but with some help from others, showing me how to do so. I have made many allies out there but never a family like I have always wanted and craved. So, no one to worry about but myself. Which is for the best since I would hate to have anyone I love torn from me, so I would rather just be alone right now, then feel that darkness in my heart when that happens. So, my full purpose in life is to just help ANY in need. The nature in this world is the only beautiful pure constant in this chaos ridden world, and since it can't defend itself, then why not help where I can? So since I help wherever needs me at that moment.. That means I move from place to place, avoiding all that's dark just in case, as I help anything that needs it. It's now late at night, and this is the time that most dark creatures break out from their various homes to come out and terrorize.. so that's when I'm needed most and luckily can move around faster under the cover of darkness. I have learned to make myself dark clothes to blend into my environment as if I'm wearing camouflage. It matches perfectly with my long dark brown hair and eyes making everything except my very light colored beige skin tone blend in.. Everything.. even my satchel that holds extra herbs and items I might need is hidden very well. I have learned over the years what works and what doesn't, making things way easier on myself for the long run. I'm quietly searching because I know I heard a cry out for help.. but I don't know what it was.. As a Fae, I do have the ability to talk to all creatures, which is amazing, but I can never tell what is calling for my help, making it a little harder to find them almost every time. I hear another cry out in the distance, but I'm way closer this time, luckily. I use my wings to help me glide over the dried brush that might spook the injured one. I'm getting closer as I hear a pack of werewolves attacking what sounds like a cyclops or two in the near distance.. I'm assuming for territory once again.. It's the same old same old story.. No one wants to work together ever, building a partnership. They just want it to be all about them and their own families, as if no one else matters.. how selfish. I sneak off past the chaos, trying to make sure I'm not seen. Luckily, I finally hear a whimper followed by a huff beyond the tree I'm next to. I sneak around it, finally seeing my target. It's a Pegasus that's had its wings hurt and maybe a foot hurt, hence why it hasn't left just yet. But luckily, I had enough sense to drag itself away from the fighting. I sneak over to the Pegasus, noticing the bruises and blood. This looks like the work of the Cyclops. They have been known to raid the areas like this for sleeping horses, pegasus, and unicorns for a nice unsuspecting meal. I softly hush and coo the Pegasus, trying to make sure it knows I mean no hard to him. "I'm here to help.. just give me a second." I say to him, making sure he can understand me. He huffs in response as I step closer and lightly touching where I see blood, causing the Pegasus to jump in pain. I quickly get up, going to the surrounding area picking different plants, I chant to each plant, fluttering my fingers above as they glow lightly. I pluck each leaf and petal off, crumbling it into my hands as I chant into my now filled, cuffed hands. This makes the plants glow more, as I quickly kneel down next to the Pegasus. I put the plant into all the open wounds I can see. Lightly pouring my purified, completely clensed water across the top of the wound as it hisses for just a quick moment, creating a little bit of purple smoke. I wait until there is no more smoke as I wipe away the leaves and the skin underneath is healed. I pour the rest of the water into the Pegasus' mouth. Holding my hands over the top of his wings next as I start to chant again, sending speckles of light from my fingertips to its wings. The light speckles collect together on the wound healing on straight contact, luckily. Because if they try to fight my healing and things could be damaging for them on a whole new level. Once the whole healing process is finished, I help him stand up. He looks a little discombobulated, so I direct him out of the chaos by pointing then saying. "Prance west until you're out of the trees, then fly to make sure you're not seen." He brushes his nose under my hands and then my chin huffing at me as I reply. "You're welcome." I watch him turn and run away into the darkness at my instructions as I let out a sigh of relief at that sight alone. Until I'm clutched into a tight grip, shocking me completely because I didn't even hear this cyclops. They're normally pretty stupid and loud, so I really must have been distracted to not hear that threat join me over here. "You let my dinner go, Fae!" he grunts loudly at me as I groan under his tight grip. I spat out as protectively as I can, "He was not your dinner one eye!" This light insult is like a child trying to insult. I'm not good at being mean, but I have done it a time or two. I have had to just survive this dark world around me. So he just chuckles at my childish insult before responding. "Well, I have to eat something, so what about charred Fae?" I try to fight his hold more. That is until I hear the wolves making their way over to our area because they are letting out attacking howls for an intruder.. great.. "Hey stupid, you better just let me go and get out of here before those wolves find you.. they are on their way over here now.. You won't be able to get away fast enough with me in hand." I have to try to explain to him since there isn't enough time for him to figure this out on his own. "Don't tell me what to do, Fae.. maybe I'll just eat you now and not even wait to char you." I groan out at his negligence, hating how he won't listen to my warnings, but as much as I hate cyclops.. he is still a living being, so I have to keep warning him. "We both should really just go before we are murdered by the Moonrise Pack. You know they are the largest, so of course, the strongest pack around. They will not go easy on us.. So let's just discuss your lost dinner and how I lost it for you elsewhere.. please." I try to convince him with all I have as I gently touch his hand that's still tightly wrapped around my body, squeezing tighter as time goes on. "Don't act like you care about me, Fae.. I won't let you trick me!" He spats at me now, squeezing me tighter as I groan out in pain.. but luckily for me, so does he as I watch the werewolf warriors from the nearby pack, pop out from the trees, and start to instantly attack the intruder. He throws me out of his grip to the ground to defend himself.. but with all the chaos ensuing around me, I don't think they have noticed me.. but my arm is hurt from his tight grip, and when he threw me, a branch broke through my leg and is now pertruding out of the other side. So I can't use my injured limbs to get my body up. I have just enough energy to flap my wings and take me behind the tree and hopefully out of everyone's sight before I'm noticed. I groan out as I bite my lip, trying to calm my cries of pain down before I get everyone's attention. My leg is the first thing I need to take care of so I slowly pull the stick out from my leg putting pressure on the wound that's gushing blood, to try to stop the bleeding as I take a look around at my surroundings. I see a couple of plants in arms reach as I stretch out, grabbing them. I chant into the leaves, causing them to illuminate as I break them off and place inside of my open wound. I murmur to myself the chants I know all too well, causing my wound to hiss as the smoke appears and I bit my lip trying to not yell out in pain because this pain will only last for a moment longer. A light illuminates from within my wound, showing it is working slowly but surely. This, of course, takes longer than healing the Pegasus because his wounds weren't as big as mine, lucky for him. Finally, after a long moment of hiding and healing, I'm able to heal it up as I use the tree behind me to stand up. I stretch out my leg, making sure I have full mobility from it before I make my move. Because I'll just have to heal my arm once I get out of this area. So now that I'm standing, I press myself against the tree, trying to make sure I stay hidden until I figure out how I'm going to get out of here without alerting anyone.
