Christine Stamos is a fiery journalist from New York whose job accidentally ruins her life after witnessing something she shouldn’t have in the underbelly of a church. After rejecting one of her boss’ many dinner date invites, Mr. Lian assigns her the newest money scandal involving a priest called Father Johnathan. Christine takes the story with full confidence in her abilities and sets out to uncover the full story behind the allegations against the priest. However, what she uncovers instead challenges everything she’s ever thought to be true, or rather untrue as she struggles to close the door to Hell she had no idea she’d opened.

Some Boss
In this world there are things people have seen and unexplainable mysteries they've witnessed that will forever be tucked away in the corner where secrets are kept. We claim to have a loving creator, a being so powerful he made everything in existence and for the countless amount of believers who actually have faith in such a being, they have yet to bear witness to one of their 'glorious' creator's most disturbing innovations. An innovation so disturbing, it changed an atheist's perception of a world with a non-existent God, into a full-fledged believer. But after witnessing such abominations derived from his hand, perhaps it would've been better to continue my belief of having disbelief in something as omnipotent as a God. ~~   "Christine Stamos, I have decided to assign you the reporting of the Father Johnathan embezzlement allegations at that Holy Saints Catholic church in Long Island," Mr. Lian always found ways to try and get back at me after his routine dinner date rejections, and as always, he would try to make me pay for it professionally. I gave him a soft smile and replied to him, "If you're trying to make my life more difficult, I suggest you come up with something more clever, rather than taking cheap shots at imposing spiritualism on me just because I'm an atheist." Mr. Lian smiled in his usual coy manner, tilted his head back, placed his palm over his forehead and peered at me through one eye and smirked, "How is it I can never get to you? Whether it be a casual dinner request, or something to frustrate you a bit at work, you never shake." Overall Mr. Lian was a decent man, but sometimes his words etched my composed exterior, especially when he tries to pry into my life, but I simply shrug it out of my mind mostly.  I began to stare at him in the most quizzical manner and paced towards him with my arms folded; each step I took my heels clicked and each click he paced backwards. I stopped when his back touched the wall and moved my face closer to his, peering into his nervous green eyes with my bold brown ones. I studied him intently, observing the near beads of sweat forming at his temples, the words on his slightly cigarette tinged lips he stayed unable to say and even the hairs standing on the side of his arms. This cool, suave man was a nervous wreck and powerless to my slight advance. Truth be told, I have never considered our relationship to be a very conflicting one, but neither have I ever considered it to be mingled with intimacy and honestly I wish he'd give-up his pursuit. I chuckled lightly and smirked at him playfully, then smiled in the most taunting of ways, parting my red lips and exposing ivory teeth. I then whispered in his ear ever so softly, "You can barely stand or control your heart rate like this, yet you want to have a date with me, how cute you are Mr. Lian." I backed away and began to pace in the opposite direction. I stopped at the doorway and turned my head to face him with a gentle smile, only to see him with one hand in his pocket, lightly chuckling and rubbing the back of his neck then running his fingers through his short glossy black hair, "I will accept your assignment today, and the one afterwards, and the next one after that, and the many more to come, so please keep them coming Mr. Lian." I walked away and headed to my car, to leave for Long Island. As I paced myself I couldn’t help but picture his amusingly frightened expression after my advance, some cool and composed boss he is.
