For a hundred dollars, Serena accepted her friend's offer to meet a man she met online on behalf of her. Serena expected to meet someone ugly, given the fact that he refused to show his face. What she didn't expect was to see a handsome, muscular, and wealthy man, but she was more surprised when he kidnapped her on the first day of their meeting! What drove her crazy was when he showed her a contract with her signature! What can be worse than that? To see that her friend just signed her away to be the man's wife!

Will she be able to resist when a simple stare from him is enough to melt her?

Chapter 1
Chapter 01 Serena Martin I stomped my foot in annoyance. I have been waiting for hours, but not a single shadow of that man showed up! I constantly checked the time for our supposed meeting at four, and it's now five in the afternoon! I don't know if he will even show up or just waste my freaking time! 'This is all your fault, Winnie! Ugh! You'll see when I get to the dorm later! ' If only I wasn't desperate for money, I wouldn't have accepted her request, or, should I say, offer. That woman had the guts to flirt online, but when her chatmate wanted to meet, she didn't dare to show herself! Winnie was scared that the man was ugly because he refused to have a video call, so she paid me a hundred dollars to be her 'proxy, but imagine my surprise when I found out that she'd been using my name and face for the last three months they've been talking! So I had no choice. Well, actually, I have. I could have ignored the hundred dollars, but I needed it for my tuition fee. What's that small amount when, in half a year, I can finally graduate and become a nurse? Although I have a part-time job, the money I earn is still not enough, and I don't want to bother my parents with my school fees when they barely earn enough for themselves. Aside from my everyday and university needs, I also pay rent to the dorm I'm living in. It's a good thing I share the monthly rent with Winnie, and she lends me some money when I need it, being part of a middle family and all. "Okay, ten more minutes!" I told myself and composed myself. "If he isn't here by then, I'll leave." "Hi! Good afternoon!" I whipped my head when I heard a woman's voice before frowning and making sure she was talking to me. The woman is beautiful and sexy; what could she possibly want from me? "Hi? Are you talking to me?" I asked, dumbfounded. The woman nodded with a sweet smile on her lips. "I'm guessing you're Serena Martin?" She asked, looking at her phone. I licked my lips and frowned. "Yes, I am. Do I know you? And how did you know my name?" I looked at her from head to toe, but I didn't really recognize her. The woman offered her hand. "My name is Nathalie Sanders, but you can call me Nath or Miss Sanders, whichever you like. And I am Mr. William Delaford's secretary. He sent me here to fetch you." I blinked a few times, just staring stupidly at her hand and back at her face. The man I'm waiting for goes by the name of Liam, so who is the man she mentioned? "I'm sorry, but I don't know any Wil—" The woman snapped her fingers. "Liam. You should know him by Liam." I hadn't said anything when she began to drag me away by my arm. What is this?! "Wait, Miss. I'm not going with you!" Is she crazy?! Yes, the name is what I'm waiting for, but what if they are bad people? And why didn't he show up himself? Maybe Winnie is right when she says that he's ugly! "You need to go with me or the boss will kill me. He ordered me to fetch you and bring you to him." The woman almost pleaded, but I resisted. "No! Do you think I'm stupid? Why would I go with you when I don't even know you?" The woman was stunned for a moment, and I just noticed that people were looking at us. We must have been a sight. It's a good thing Winnie chose a mall as the meeting place, so I won't be easily kidnapped. The woman sighed before taking her cell phone and calling someone. "Sir, she doesn't want to go with me. Alright. Yes, sir," she said, extending the phone to me. "He wants to talk to you." I swallowed, and I just stood there without taking the phone. My heart pounded, and beads of sweat formed on my forehead. I cursed Winnie in my head for possibly handing me to bad men. I took a deep breath before taking the phone. "Hello?" I answered. "Hi. Am I talking to Serena?" A baritone voice that probably belonged to a big man said, and my knees buckled. "Yes," I responded with a deep swallow. "Hey, it's me, Liam. We agreed to meet, remember? And you can't take that back. Now, you can trust my secretary, and she'll take you to me. I suggest you don't make a scene or you might face some consequences." Right after what sounded like a warning, the man cut the call, and I handed the phone back to Nath with shaking hands. My mind processed what the man told me. "Ma'am, are you coming with me or not?" Nath asked me, and I looked past her. What did that man mean when he said something about consequences? His voice was enough to scare me. Still, in a trance, I nodded my head subconsciously, and she grabbed my hand at the exit. 'God, I am leaving my fate in your hands because I don't want what awaits me in this mess I'm in. Was I hypnotized into agreeing? ' When we were out, I saw a black car waiting for us, and I stopped when Nath opened the door for me. Will I be able to run away? That man won't be able to look for me anyway. I'm sure he's just intimidating me. I gulped and glanced at the guard. I could scream for help. "Ma'am, let us go," Nath urged me when I didn't make any moves and sighed. "Miss, if the boss warned you about the consequences of disobeying him, I suggest you just obey because he's a ruthless man." And when I looked into her eyes, I knew she was not kidding. In the end, Nath practically pushed me inside, and the car didn't waste any second in leaving. I didn't know how long we traveled, but the car stopped in front of what was probably the tallest building I've seen. Nath opened the door and grabbed my hand. She then pulled me inside and to the elevator, where I didn't have the time to look around. She didn't let go of my arm until we reached the destination, probably afraid I'd run away and she'd be punished. "Thank you for coming with me, Ms. Martin. You just saved my life," she said gratefully while sighing in relief. She's relieved, while I feel like a lamb in a lion's den. "Is your boss that scary?" I asked in fright. Nath shook her head slowly. "Not really. He's fine... until you make him angry, and that's when he turns into a monster." I found myself clinging to her the way she did earlier. "Whatever happens, please don't leave me alone with him," I pleaded, and she nodded. "What's your boss like?" Nath cleared her throat. "Well, what do you want to know? His personality? His assets? Or perhaps his personal life? "Anything." "Well, Mr. Delaford is the only heir of Mr. Ryan Delaford, one of the multi-billionaires in the country. This building is only one out of their properties. Mr. Delaford is actually nice, but only to those who are close to him. He hates tardiness, people who complain too much, or those who refuse his orders." She paused and gave me a knowing look. "You know, a typical rich man who's used to getting what he wants. That's why I'm thankful that you came with me, and we're both saved." I became more anxious after what she said. Winnie, you better be ready when I see you again. If I get out of here alive, that is. I was about to ask her more questions when the elevator opened, and I was greeted by an elegant receiving area that made me gasp a little. The smell of an expensive house perfume invaded my nose, and the cold air conditioner bit my skin. I turned to Nath to see her calling someone on her phone again. "We're here, sir. Where shall I take her?"
