    As we were waiting on his response, his phone began to ring. He looked a little thankful at the interruption. Kieran pulled his phone from the pocket and looked at the screen. He breathed a sigh of relief. I knew he was hoping this would distract us, but I fully intended to have an answer before I went to retrieve my mate.

    He hit talk and put it on speaker.

    “This is Kieran.” He said. 

    “Good morning, Kieran. It’s Warrick. I’m calling to let you know one of your pack members is here. She arrived safely about forty-five minutes ago and has been put in a guest room and sedated.” Warrick replied. “She asked that I not call her parents, so I’m calling you instead.”

    “Thank you for taking care of her. Why’d you sedate her?” Kieran asked.
