YOU’RE MINE (Arranged Marriage of the Two Genius)

14. COMPETING

The day, the family Yamashita and Francisco together with Ojii-sama, Oba-sama, Ima, and Ankol sent the newlywed couple to the airport for their honeymoon, and the airplane flew away. The Francisco family settled into the house of Ima and Ankol for a while.

“We are going to stay here for just a month since Yuki has a competition to deal with. Veni, will you help me with this?" Jen said getting their luggage.

“Let me, honey."

And Jero gets the luggage in his wife's hands. Yuki helped his Mom too.

“Finally, I get to eat whatever Japanese food I like in here,” Veni excitingly mumbled.

Meanwhile, Kyoko is in her room and reading at her desk when she bites her lips.

“Why I can't forget that kiss of him? I felt like...until now I still can feel his lips to mine,” she thought and bit her lips again

On the other side at the mansion of Pres. and Mrs. Yamashita, Jero, Jen, Yuta, and Rina were gathering in the living area to have a meeting.

“Ojii-sama, Oba-sama, I won't agree that my daughter will get married because she's too young and she's not yet at the right age. She's 17 right now." Rina is again unconvinced about what their grandparents want.

“They need to finish their study first and after that...go ahead," Jero commented on his side.

“Me? I agree to have an arranged marriage because I know all of the characteristics that Kyoko has are the characteristics, Yuki, likes so, I don't have a problem with that. They are compatible with each other,” Jen happily announced.

“I do agree too,” Yuta shortly said.

Everyone was surprised by Yuta's answer, especially Rina.

“Honey! You were supposed to be by my side! Don't tell me you want your daughter to get married at an early age? Just like Ryota?” Rina claimed angrily.

Yuta looks at Rina. "Honey, I wanna see the old Kyoko I know. Our daughter. I wanna see her smile just like before. I don't have many options and I think having her partner in her life might be the way for her to go back to what she is before. I want to see her genuine smile for the last chance,” he emotionally told.

And Rina has nothing to say with that even all the people around.

“You four, listen to me," Ojii-sama spoke breaking the drama. “I, your Oba-sama and your Ima and Ankol will not be longer living in this world but before that happen I want to fulfill our old tradition and before they step up in college I want them to get married,” he notified all of them.

The sun rose, Yuki dropped by in the Book store wearing his school uniform and bag. He seeks the book he needs and when he found it he held onto it not knowing that Yusuke is in the back of the shelf too and when he also saw the book he needed, Yuki then get the book but on the opposite side, someone is holding it too at the other side.

“I'm the first one who saw this," Yusuke spoke on the other side defensively.

“I'm the first who saw this and hold it,” Yuki countered in a moderate voice.

Yusuke held back to the book and Yuki picked it up and because of that, they came to behold each other. They both seemed serious staring at each other.

“It's you again. What else are you doing here? Is the game not starting yet?" Yusuke spoke in a broad voice.

“I just passed by. I'll go ahead and I might get late,” Yuki retrieved.

And Yuki left the store while Yusuke looks after him with his strop eyes.

However, Kyoko is now in the venue where will the competition happen and she's with her teachers. Momoko anyways wandered her eyes around and sighted Kyoko from afar making her changed into a beast mood.

“I excuse myself, Ma’am, and I just need to talk to someone I hate,” Momoko dismissed and composed herself fiercely.

The teacher coincided and Momoko walks towards Kyoko with her wrathful eyebrows and eager eyes. The troop of Kyoko's teacher then gave welcoming greetings to others making Kyoko became alone at the side when Momoko approached her.

“Kyoko," Momoko called with her harsh tone.

Kyoko turned her eyes from her and they stood in front of each other firmly but she is taller than Momoko.

“I just wanted to tell you, YAMASHITA KYOKO that I AND YUKI know each other for a long time since we were young. In short word, we're childhood friends. How about you?" Momoko said in a ridiculing manner. "You two are NOTHING."

Kyoko just smirked at her remark that makes Momoko pissed off. Momoko raised her eyebrows to look intimidating.

“And why are you smiling? Is there something funny about what I said?"

Kyoko directly stared at Momoko, smirking. “If you are thinking that there is something between us then think what you want to think, I don't even care." She then put a po-faced. "I don't care whatever your mind will conceive. That haughty guy and I are mortal rivalries and nothing is gonna grow more than that,” she invoked and left with her straight face.

Momoko looks after Kyoko with her implausible reaction.

“Remember this, Yuki is mine. JUST MINE!" Momoko shouted.

But Kyoko did not turn back anymore while Momoko growled and stomped her feet in irritation.

Yuki and Kyoko faced each other and the competition began together with other schools but the truth is they were the only ones contending.

The competition in essay writing started and eventually, Yuki and Kyoko proclaimed champion. Thereafter the following days, they are wearing their different kinds of varsity jackets in every competition they competed suchlike Math, English, Science, History, and Philippines/Japanese. And, all in all, they both declared as the champions.

It's already night when they finished and the emcee called Yuki and Kyoko to accept their trophies, certificates, and medals that they have won. Once Yuki and Kyoko stepped on the stage they glared at each other which they really can't avoid exchanging uncivilized words to insult one another and so no one will know what they are talking about, they speak different languages.

“Are you not tired of following me?" Yuki started.

“Excuse me, for your information, why should I follow you in the first place?" Kyoko returned the favor.

“Maybe because you are dumb. Without me, you will not be able on your position,” he taunted.

“Touché'. Shut up, prodigy guy!"

He in French. “Ne me dicte pas quoi faire. Vous ne même pas atteindre mon niveau . Impracticable. Don't dictate to me what to do. You don't even reach my level. Impracticable.”

She in Portuguese. "Talvez você é o único que é intransponível . Arrogante! Maybe you are the impracticable one. Haughty!”

He smiled, in French. “Et vous quoi? Humble? Oh, come on. And you what? Humble? Oh, come on.”

She smiled sweetly, in French. “Plus que vous savez. More than you know.”

His face doesn't leave the curve in his lips, Portuguese. “Então, ok, você é objetivo humilde eu sou mais inteligente do que você. Okay then, you are humble but I am more intelligent than you.”

“What is the use of the brain if your attitude is so bullshit? It doesn't make any sense. Internal is more and much good than external."

He in French. “Tu penses? Que diriez-vous si je disais que les gens de nos jours sont à la recherche en externe et en interne pas? estúpido. You think so? How about if I said people nowadays are looking in external and not in internal? Portuguese, stupid.”

Without their knowing their faces became centimeters away from each other. The emcee also called Nathan who got into second place, next was Natsumi and she's not happy because the guy that she loathed was higher than her, meaning she only got 3rd place. Considering also Yusuke who's the same as Natsumi and while walking towards the stage, he is serious and his attention was on Yuki that he remembered, When he saw Yuki and Kyoko in the middle of the hallway in the airplane, While in front of the board he watched them arguing, Every time Yuki and Kyoko were arguing he's jealous just like what happened in the book store a while ago. So, Yusuke placed himself between Yuki and Kyoko which was the reason why Kyoko curled her eyebrows glancing at Yusuke while Yuki glanced at her.

“Hey, stupid!" Yuki taunted enough for Kyoko to hear.

Yusuje looks at Yuki as well as Kyoko did.

Yuki faced in front, French. “Si je devais vous, vous devriez aller ici parce que vous ne possédez pas le droit d'être ici. If I were you, you should go down here because you don't have the right to be here.”

She glared at Yuki, French. “Tu te tais. Si vous voulez, pourquoi ne vas-tu pas d'abord? You shut up. If you want, why don't you go first?”

Yusuke in the middle, however, didn't understand what the two were talking about. Nathan and Natsumi anyways have their world to tolerate each other. The emcee then called for the picture taking and so, Yusuke stayed like glue to Kyoko by placing his arm around Kyoko's shoulders and when the emcee said 'cheese', Kyoko immediately turned away which makes everyone wonder. And that's why the picture came out when Kyoko turned away while Nathan and Natsumi were fighting. Yuki also went down the stage after and Nathan followed, also Natsumi, and leaving Yusuke alone.

For two consecutive weeks, Yuki, Kyoko, Natsumi, Nathan, and Momoko are competing with each other in different sports contests. That Momoko became clingy towards Yuki and based on his facial reaction he didn’t like it, while Nathan is busy getting the attention of Momoko, whilst Natsumi is insisting herself to argue with him. Yusuke anyways is always chasing Kyoko everywhere that he’s trying to talk to her but she just snubbed him. In the meantime, Yuki is looking after Yusuke and Kyoko on the other side, out of the corner of his eyes.

All six of them are fighting each other in different sports such as table tennis, long tennis, badminton, archery, bowling and so many to mention that Yuki and Kyoko declared as champion, 2nd place was Yusuke and Momoko who were both didn’t like their position because they were jealous with Yuki and Kyoko closeness while Nathan and Natsumi were 3rd places who still fighting non-sense.

Thereupon inside of the van where Nathan, Momoko, and Yuki were, Nathan is meddling with Momoko while Yuki is just tranquility sitting beside them both. On the other van by the way were Yusuke, Natsumi in the middle, and Kyoko who is quietly gazing at her side window. The three of them are just quiet along the ride.

At Francisco Residence, Jen is having a conversation with Momoko about a lot of funny things.

“I feel sad for this pretty girl in front of me because I also like her for my son but unfortunately, my son was already set in an arranged marriage and I have nothing to do with it. I don't know how to say it to her. I think Yuki will be the one to say it to her. Besides, they are childhood friends and he knows her better than I do,” Jen thought while staring at Momoko worriedly.

Soon, Yuki arrived and Jen passed to him the responsibility of their visitor but actually, Momoko wasn’t a visitor for them anymore because they treated them as one of the family. Momoko then followed Yuki upstairs. Once they were in the room of Yuki, he immediately does his works at his desk while Momoko makes herself busy by seeking anything she could have interest in his things.

“Don't touch anything,” he coldly said not even glancing at her.

So, she stopped what she is doing and just took a sit comfortably in his bed while thinking.

“How will I induce him to go outside?" she thought while gazing at the ceiling. “Aha!" she yelled inside of her subconscious and she jumped out of the bed to approached him and induced him to go outside.

But,!as she thought that it will be easy to induce him but no because he won't have any interest and because of the fighting spirit, she didn't stop bothering him that she even get the pen he was using.

“Give me back my pen,” he told in an annoying tone because he got disturbed.

“I won't give it back until you come with me, ” she threatened with her seducing smile.

“Okay, it's up to you,” he said in a dull tone before going back to his paper works.

And because of that, he stood up going out of the room.

“Wait!" she protested and she went in front of him to stop him. “I'm sorry. Here. I'm returning your pen. Please...just come with me,” she begged with her pity look.

And he stared at her blankly. “Fine." He answered with his unreadable facial expression.

She jumped in joy on that because he finally agreed.

In the meantime in the house of Ojii-sama and Oba-sama, both parents of Yuki and Kyoko were present and they were all deliberating, again.

“I decided that after they get married the two will be living in one roof and we are going to live in one subdivision, and one more thing...we need to hurry in making them marry each other or otherwise, I, your Oba-sama, Ima, and Ankol will not live long," Ojii-sama told them sincerely.

At the mall, Momoko can't remove the happiness she has because the guy she loves for almost a decade is now with her. She dragged him into the women's area and there she bought a lot of clothes, while she kept asking him if it is fit for her or not that he will just answer 'Yeah' in a not interesting tone that's why she got irritated but it disappeared immediately because she got to think that they were having their first date. On the other hand, Nathan is shopping on his own when he accidentally saw them. So, he jogged towards them.

“Hey!" Nathan shouted and get through them, catching his breath. “What are you two doing here?" he asked cluelessly and Momoko gave her dagger eyes that looks like she will kill him now. He gave her a grin in return. “By the way, did you two both know that Yuki and Kyoko are still the number one in the whole country? Congratulations, Yuki!" he cheered.

Not knowing that Momoko clenched her jaw because she heard Kyoko's name.

“Do you have anything to do for today, Nathan?" Yuki changed the subject suddenly.

“Ummm...wait, I will think for a second...." Nathan rubbed his chin as he is thinking. “No! I have nothing to do. Why?" He energetically replied with matching throwing his arms in the air.

“Great. If you don't mind, join her because I still have a paper works to finish. I'll go ahead,” Yuki dismissed himself without even getting Nathan's response and he left them.

“But Yuki..." Momoko restrained.

“So?"

Nathan got into her front with the biggest smile out of him and before she runs through Yuki.

“Where do you want to go, babe?" He smirked at that endearment and sparkling eyes.

“Ugh!" Momoko annoyingly screamed.

Afternoon, Yuki is sauntering along the subway when he heard someone calling his name and when he looked back he saw his father inside of the car.

“Get inside, son," Jero said.

And Yuki got inside of the car. The ride is quiet between the both of them until they stopped at the traffic light that became red making them stayed in the intersection.

“Yuki, what course are you getting in college?" Jero started.

“I don't know, Dad," Yuki responded shortly without any reaction and just eying in front.

“There are still two months to think about it, son. You are becoming college now and I want you to get the course about or related in business so promptly you'll be the one to hold the company and all of our businesses but if you are not yet ready that's okay for me. All I want is to know what you like. I know what you are having through because I've been there too, I mean in your position too, but I am just doing this for your own sake because I don't like you to waste your life on something that leads you to nowhere. Choose something that will suit you and your knowledge,” Jero conceded his son.

However, Yuki stayed quiet about what his father said until the traffic light became green and they drive off. Meanwhile, Momoko grabbed a taxi and escaped from Nathan.

“Yuki needs to know this," Momoko whispered in her mind.

Soon, she got into Francisco resident and she immediately looks for the guy whom she loved so much, and when she saw him in a kitchen drinking water, she fastened her feet to get to him.

“Why did you leave me behind?!" she shouted in frustration into his face.

He looks at her after he drunk.

“What are you doing here?" he wondered in a very cold voice.

“Do you even know why I want you to be my company? And that is because I will be leaving tonight, at 10 in the evening and I only have four hours to spend my whole time with you! I will go to Canada with my parents and there, I will continue my college year because of their work. I don't wanna go but I have to and because I cannot. leave on my own,” she explained herself in a high tone but eventually lowered her voice because of sadness.

He sighed. “So, what do you want me to do?" he questioned her exhaustedly.

“Yuki..." She began and then, she took a breath first before continuing. “I am begging you if I can borrow your four hours before I leave?" Her eyes were hoping. “But if you don't like then, it's fine with me."

She let out a deep sighed before walking away melancholy while he heaved a deep sigh.

“Where do you want to go?" he asked considerably.

That makes her stops and with that, she became hyper again and faced him that she immediately grabbed him and left the house. Then, Momoko bought tickets for their movie together in a theater while Yuki bought food. Inside the theater, she can't concentrate watching the movie because she is stealing a look at him while daydreaming, She is crying and Yuki keeps her calm by hugging her and kissing her head. Afterward, the movie ended and he looks at her who is currently sleeping. So, he woke her up and went outside while she followed him. They also go everywhere wherever she wanted that he didn’t even go opposite of her since she requested for the last time.

The moon showed up in the beautiful sky while they are both in the softball field and sitting beside each other while stargazing.

“This is now my chance to..." she composed in the back of her mind while glancing at him. “...confess to him. I don't like to hide this feeling I have for him forever and forever regret this moment. Wait, but what if he rejected me? What am I going to do?" She looks into her feet. "Don't think negative sides, Momoko, until you are not yet dealing with the situation but..." She reminisced,When she saw Yuki kissed Kyoko. “Ugh! No more buts. It's now or never. I want to know if I have a chance in his heart. This is it.” She embraced herself.

She took a deep breath first composing all of her courage before calling his attention.

“Yuki?" she called his attention.
