Love is Blind Part 4

He pulled me out of my chair and drew me close to him. I put my other hand out and it met a wall of muscle. I tried to stop the possessive growl that grew in my chest. It ended up coming out as a squeak. Rock chuckled. “You’re not getting scared, are you?” I shook my head and pulled my other hand from his. I put in on his chest next to the other and slid them up to his shoulders. I stepped in closer, moving between his legs until my legs brushed the inside of his thighs. There was an inaudible rumble that rolled under my hands. My hands slid to feel the width of his shoulders. If he was small for a troll, then they were terrifyingly huge. I moved my hands back to his neck and felt his skin. It was rough, but pliable, much like human skin. “Soft.” He whispered. “Sean told me that trolls like touching people since they’re soft. Is that something you inherited?” I asked. “There’s nothing soft about being a troll. I don’t have the craggy, stone-like, skin that other trolls do, so I got petted a lot as a kid. My skin got a bit rougher with age, but nothing like theirs. We like the feeling of softer, squishy, beings.” Rock answered. I hummed a little and continued my exploration. His jaw was wide and squared off. It ended in a prominent chin with a cleft in it. I moved my hands up to his mouth. His lips were shapely and firm. There was something hard at the corners of his mouth. Two protrusions. I felt along them. “My tusks.” He explained as I tried to figure them out. “Oh.” I replied. His nose was wide and his cheekbones high. He had a prominent brow. I smiled. His face had a lot of character. I ran my fingertips over his forehead and into his hair. It wasn’t soft, but a little wiry. I remembered what Sean said and headed for my next goal. My fingers found the lower lobes of his ears and he gasped as I started tracing the outer edges, up into the long points of his ears. They were much longer than Rosario’s. I gently rubbed the tips between my fingers before stroking down and back up. Rock groaned. I felt his hands wrap around my waist and he pulled me closer. My body was pressed against his as I stroked and massaged his ears. I felt his strained breath on my neck and it sent a thrill through me. “Goddess, that feels amazing.” Rock rumbled. “Imagine what it would feel like if I touched the rest of you like this.” I purred. He pulled back to look at me. I moved my hands to his face, placing my thumbs against his tusks so I could track where I was. I moved in and kissed him. He was shocked at first, but started tentatively responding to my kiss. I moved my hands from his face back to his ears and started stroking his ears as I rubbed my body against his and kissed him deeply. I nipped at his tongue and he growled. I growled back, letting him know I wasn’t intimidated. His hands slid down and groped my backside. He pressed me even tighter against his body and I climbed up to straddle his lap as we continued kissing. I knew he couldn’t feel it, but I could feel the sparks of our connection. I didn’t want to give him up. Not for a week, not for a second. I pulled away and his mouth went to my jaw and neck. He licked and kissed down to my marking spot. Blanche was doing flips inside me. “Dear goddess! Get a room! No one wants to see that!” Someone shouted from behind me. I froze. Rock started laughing. It made me laugh. I stroked his ears one final time before resting my hands on his cheeks. “Take me home with you, Rock. Let me show you what it’s like to be with someone soft. I’m a werewolf, so I’m as soft as a human, but not as fragile. I’ll only ask two things from you.” I said. “To never tell anyone and never talk to you again after?” He guessed. I laughed. “To give me a ride home in the morning and to let me come to your coming of age party. I want to be there when you find your true mate. I want to celebrate your happiness.” “Seriously?” Rock asked. “Yeah. That’s all I want.” I smiled. “Deal. Do you need to tell anyone you’re leaving?” I quickly linked Ashley and Gemma that I’d see them in the morning. They cheered me on, especially when I told them I was going home with a fae boy. “I told them. Ready to go?” I asked. He helped me to stand and stood up. He chuckled. “What’s so funny?” I asked. “You’re so tiny.” Rock said. “I’m 5’8”. That’s not tiny.” I huffed. “I’m 6’10”. You’re tiny.” “You said no one has ever told you that you’re huge.” I replied. “Short trolls are a couple inches taller than me. My friend, Forrest, is eight feet tall.” He told me. I gasped. “That’s way too big.” “That’s not the last time you’ll be saying that tonight.” He purred. As I started laughing, Rock picked me up and put me over his shoulder. I giggled and held on to my purse tightly, so it wouldn’t fall. He headed for the door. The noise of the dancefloor got louder as we walked. Some whistling and catcalls started from the other side of the room. I was sure I wasn’t flashing the room. I couldn’t feel the sparks where my skirt was between my skin and Rock’s hands. I checked to make sure I wasn’t popping out of my top. They couldn’t have been brought on by me. I was glad for it. “I’m putting my glamour on now. We’ll be outside soon. When the bouncer stops us, it will be your last chance to change your mind. Once I get you away from this club, you’re mine for the rest of the night.” Rock warned.   I reached back and tweaked his ear, making him growl at me. “If you think my hands are soft, wait until you have my breasts pressed against your face.” Rock groaned and started walking faster. I grinned. That would stop his doubt. We didn’t get far. Just outside the door, we were stopped by the bouncer. “Miss, are you aware and consenting of your situation?” The vampire asked me. “Yes, sir.” I replied. “How much have you had to drink?” He pressed. “One glass of water, sir. I’m completely sober.” I said. “You’re the blind wolf. Do you know what you’re with?” “Yes. He’s a troll. Can we go now? The blood is rushing to my head.” I giggled. “Alright.” He sighed. “Have fun.” “Thank you!” I answered and Rock kept moving. A while later, he took me off his shoulder and cradled me in his arms for a bit. I felt the blood rushing back into the rest of my body. It was a little disorienting and made me dizzy for a couple minutes. I snuggled close to him. I wanted to remember everything about being in his arms. It would be a long week before I could claim him. Rock put me on the ground gently. He let go for a few moments, then I felt something being put on my head. I reached up and felt the smooth plastic of a helmet. I realized. At his height, he probably didn’t have a car. “I drove my motorcycle in tonight. Have you ever been on one?” He asked. “I’ve never even been on a bicycle.” I replied. He picked me up and put me on a cushioned seat, then helped me straddle it and guided my feet to where they should rest. I felt it tip and yelped. “I’ve got you, little wolf. I’m just standing it up properly so I can get on. Once I’m on, I want you to hold on to me as tight as you can and don’t let go until I turn off the engine. Got it?” Rock said. “Yes.” There were some sounds of movement and the motorcycle shifted under his weight. I heard it start and I wrapped my arms as far around his waist as they would go. I held on as if my life depended on it. The vibration of the vehicle between my legs was unlike anything I’d ever felt before. The scent of my mate wrapped around me and I almost forgot about the danger. I felt like I was flying. Soon, we came to a stop and he turned off the engine. I held on a little bit longer. I loved being close to him. He tapped my hands and I reluctantly let him go. Rock helped me off of the motorcycle and took off my helmet. His hand wrapped around mine and he pulled me along behind him. After a few feet, we stopped. “There’s one step up here.” He told me. I stepped up and squeezed his hand. I appreciated him telling me instead of just picking me up and putting me on the step. People would do that to me in the pack lands. I heard the jingle of keys and the sound of a lock unlatching. He led me into the house and closed the door. “Take off your shoes.” Rock said. I did as he said and held them up. Rock took them from me and it sounded like he put them on a shelf. In my house we kept our shoes by the door as well. Werewolves hated wearing them and would avoid it if we could. Once the shoes were dealt with, he led me further in. I noted the feeling of the plush carpet under my feet. I had almost expected marble throughout, but it made sense that he would want something soft. “This is my living room. The ceilings are ten feet high. I did all the moldings myself.” He said proudly. “I bet they’re beautiful.” I smiled. “I forgot you couldn’t see for a moment.” Rock chuckled. “No problem. You seem to be very proud of your house. Did you want to give me a tour before showing me your bedroom?” I asked. “Absolutely!” He replied. Rock took me from room to room describing everything in great detail. It was a three bedroom, two and a half bath home. All single level. He told me that many trolls get stiffer joints as they aged and this was going to be his home for the rest of his life. “All of the showers and tubs are made to accommodate trolls of any size. I custom built them. Laid all the tile myself.” Rock told me. “Wow. You didn’t hire anyone to help you?” I asked. “No. I’m almost fifty years old. After I graduated high school, I started a masonry apprenticeship. That took four years. Then a carpentry apprenticeship while I was a practicing mason. It took me another four years. After that, I did a plumbing apprenticeship, that was five years, and finally four years as an electrician apprentice. Seventeen years after I had graduated high school, I began studying for my general contractor’s license exam. When I was thirty-six, I was finally fully licensed. I started my own construction company. About ten years ago, the neighborhood expanded and I claimed this lot. I started building in the evenings, on weekends, during the slow times at work. I would have friends over to help and have a barbeque. When I finished it, it was the best feeling in the world. I’d made a place for my future family and started a business doing what I loved all before I reached my coming of age.” He explained. I smiled. He sounded so happy. I was happy too. My mate had a job that wouldn’t get him killed, like being a warrior could. He had regular hours and weekends off. He was his own boss and could come and go as he pleased. “You sound like you’re really driven.” I said. “I wanted to give my future wife and our kids a solid foundation to grow on. They won’t have me for as long as they would if I was a full troll. My company, this house, my savings and investments, the rental properties I have in town. All of it I built to take care of them.” Rock told me, sounding a little sadder now. “How long will you live?” I asked, worried about the answer. “Half troll, half a troll’s life. I only have a hundred years left.” He answered. “Me, too. It may not seem like a long time if you’re expecting three hundred, but humans have a life expectancy around eighty or ninety, so one hundred and fifty is quite a lot.” I smiled. Rock chuckled. “You’re a pretty solid optimist. Nothing can get you down, can it?” “I’m a realist who likes to make my own silver linings when possible. Now, take off your clothes. I want to see all of you.” I purred. “But you can’t…. Oh, you mean with your hands.” He laughed. “I don’t hear clothes coming off.” I chided. The rustle of him removing his clothes, the unzipping of his pants, the lustful energy in the room, all made me eager to touch him. I wanted to touch all of him and feel all of the man who belonged to me.
