Chapter 26: The Forest Battle (2)

Aya heard the sound of gunfire in the air. Soon she realized there was an unusual condition. The first thing she thought, was about protecting White as her first priority. White was a guest and a Prince. If something happened to him at Villa Island then Alex would be responsible.

"White, did you hear the gunshot?" Aya contacted White with a communication device.

"Yes, why? That's part of the game, right?" White replied ignoring Aya.

"No. That is not part of the game. Where are you?" asked Aya.

"Why should I tell you where I am? Don't fool me. You don't need to disturb my concentration. I know this is some kind of trick," White said ignoring Aya.

"White, I'm serious! White!" exclaimed Aya.

White no longer answered.

"Eva, what's the situation outside?" Aya exclaimed.

Eva did not answer. Eva's communication channel was interrupted. The gunfire came back. This time the sound was getting closer.

"Poo, tell me the location of human body temperature detected inside the forest," Aya ordered Poo.

Poo scanned the situation and told Aya twelve pinpoints that have human body temperature. Some pinpoints gathered in one location, while the rest spread out in the other part of the forest. Aya decided to climb up the tree and saw the situation from above. She chose to go to the forest area where some points of human body temperature gathered. High tree branches disguised Aya easily from drones and robots that were still patrolling. Drones and robots were mostly patrolling close to the ground. Aya didn’t focus on the game anymore, but she needed to hide from enemies. She did not want to act recklessly by being highlighted by a drone or robot beam light.

From a high tree branch above, Aya saw several men fighting with Eva in close combat. At least five men were attacking Eva. With a landslide kick in the solar plexus, Eva managed to overthrow one man. However, another man pulled out a sickle and slashed it to Eva's left hand.

Clang!

Eva's flesh was cut off but the sickle didn't cut Eva's bone. The sound of sickles colliding with bones sounding like iron colliding with other iron. As a result, the sickle caught in Eva's hand. This moment was not wasted by Eva. She pulled her left hand until the man holding the sickle was pushed forward towards her. With her right hand, Eva punched the man's face until his skull broke. The three remaining men jumped behind in surprise and fear, keeping their distance from Eva. The sickle that still stuck in Eva's hand, had torn her flesh. Eva pulled out the sickle and threw it to the ground. Her meat stuck in the sickle on the ground. Eva showed no pain. Everybody could see Eva's bones in her left hand. The bone didn't look like a natural human bone, but rather like an artificial bone made of silvery titanium steel.

Aya was shocked and petrified in her hiding place. During this time she thought that Eva was an ordinary human. This battle level was very difficult. Aya wanted to help, but at the moment she didn't carry any useful weapon. This fight was her first battle with humans as enemies. During this time, she only trained with robots and drones. When dealing with real enemies in a direct fight, Aya's felt not ready. Real battles and combat exercises were very different. She trembled. She couldn't move easily like when practicing. Her body did not move as she wished, restrained by shock and fear.

The men jumped back in surprise. They analyzed the situation. The woman in front of them didn’t seem to be a human, but a cyborg. Simultaneously they took out their shotgun and shot Eva at close range. Eva looked pressed. This was a bad sign.

From above a tree, Aya watched, didn’t know what to do. The enemies were too strong.

Then, Aya remembered that she still kept the petrify shuriken in the practice clothes, ninja suit. Alex required her to take the shuriken wherever she went. Aya thought Alex's orders were not necessary, because there were no robots or drones that could be paralyzed by using petrify shuriken. She thought this was useless to bring it everywhere. However, for the current conditions, these petrify shuriken were very useful.

From the tree, Aya watched Eva busy avoiding shotgun shots and revolvers at close range. Some parts of Eva's body looked hollow, but the woman continued to stand up and fight. The inner part of her body was exposed, showing titanium bones behind her skin. Aya just found out that Eva was a cyborg. Matias and Alex never talked about Eva's identity.

Aya aimed at the enemy's neck that attacked Eva. With three attacks, Aya managed to stick the shuriken to the nape of the enemy's neck. The effect of the petrify shuriken was immediately felt. The enemy's body began to stagger and the shotgun fell from their loosened hands.

This opportunity was not wasted by Eva. She immediately shot a somersault kick rotating 360 degrees towards the opponent's chin until it was thrown and hit the tree trunk. Then, Eva jumped and lifted her legs straight up at an angle of 60 degrees and slammed her heels into the next head's crown. The enemy immediately collapsed with a fractured skull and did not wake up again. Eva attacked the last enemy with a knee kick to the opponent's chin, followed by an attack from above by joining her hands together and beating her opponent's face down. Five enemies were successfully knocked out.

Aya jumped down, approached Eva.

"Eva, there are still five more enemies on the radar. Are you okay?" asked Aya.

"I can still fight," Eva answered.

"Doesn't it hurt?" asked Aya.

"No, I’m fine. I cut off the pain in my nerve system. Where is White?" Eva asked.

Aya shook her head. "He thinks it's a game. White won't listen to me. "

Eva took out her tablet and handed it to Aya.

"The blue dot is White. Search and find him. Do not get caught by the enemy. Hide," said Eva giving the order.

There was a sound of footsteps approaching. Eva and Aya ducked and hid behind a tree. An enemy seemed to be wandering around checking the situation.

"Go. Don't get caught, "Eva whispered.
