His first practice of the day had just gotten over when Case’s phone started ringing. He’d been so excited to hear that Andrea was nominated for an award for her acting, he couldn’t wait to tell her how proud he was. Now, the phone was ringing, and he was thrilled to see it was her. “Hey, baby! Congratulations!”
“Thank you,” she said on the other end of the line. “I can’t believe it!”
“I’m so proud of you, but not at all surprised. You were so awesome in that movie. You’re always awesome in your movies, but that one was even better than usual.”
“You’re sweet. Thank you, babe. That means a lot to me. But… did you see who else is nominated?”
“Nobody important. Doesn’t matter. They’re not gonna win.” In the distance, Case saw Gordon Jones walking toward him with a large smile on his face.
