Time for my tongue to shine

“Bobby, look at what I brought back. He is a newcomer and definitely has some coins on him.”

“Well, we have to see about that. The last time you said that, the person only had one coin left on him.”

“Why can’t you forget about that? That was a mistake, alright? Who knows that perverted man will brag about how many coins he has just to have a night with me?”

“Well, it was undeniable that many men are dying to have s*x with you. However, I believe that this time you have caught the wrong target too, Celine.”

“Bobby, what do you mean by that?”

The woman called Celine was confused about what the burly man called Bobby said. After all, she wasn’t sure to what Bobby was referring to.

“Look.”

Bobby then pointed at me with his chin as he talked in a nonchalant tone.

“Look at his eye. Although he says that he was scared earlier, it was only a façade. His eyes don’t show any confusion at all. After listening to what we’re saying, it seemed that this person figured out the situation he was in, but he didn’t look panicked. His eyes are very calm. I believe you’ve caught a smart fish this time. However, sometimes being smart isn’t good, and it’s better to play the fool instead.”

Hearing what Bobby said, it seemed that he had found out that I know the situation that I am in, but he is confused as to why I appear to be so calm even after that. Of course, I’ve got nothing to lose, and even if I lose my coins, it wasn’t something big. The WIC won’t be a fool. After working hard to kidnap people to enter this world, losing our lives here shouldn’t be that easy. The fact that this kind of torture house exists further confirmed my theory.

“Yo, do you realize the situation you’re in? You know why Celine brought you to this place, right?”

Since Bobby already pointed it out, there’s no point in keeping up my façade.

“Yes. You guys want my coins, right? If I refuse, you will torture me until I give my coin.”

Hearing my answer, Bobby smiled as my confession proved his suspicion. Celine, however, looked at me with eyes of surprise as she believed that I had fallen for her trick earlier.

“See, Celine. I was right. This person is smart. Alright, now hand over your coin, and I will let you go.”

I know that I am in a sticky situation right now, but this is also something that I have put into consideration. Firstly, gathering 100 coins wouldn’t be easily achievable without some reputation. As I am just newly arrived here, I would need to make a name for myself. Because of that, my first impression would be important, and I need to make some bluff.

“I really want to give you some coins. However, I really don’t have any on me at all. I met old man Dominic and lost some coins to him. After that, I was rescued by Sylvia but to repay her, I gave her my remaining coin. That’s why I have no coin at all.”

Hearing my confession, the one who is more surprised about that is Celine. That is because in her eyes, I am someone stupid instead of smart.

“If you lost all of your coins, why you’re not frantically trying to earn one coin and instead follow me here? Don’t you know that you will die if you pass 24 hours without any coin in your possession? Wait, does it mean that you want to sleep with me without paying anything?”

“Well, firstly, I am still not sure whether you really want to sleep with me or not. Secondly, since I need coins right now, do you think I should run around and proclaiming to everyone that I have no coin? If that’s the case, would you bring me here? After all, when you brought me here, half of my goal was already completed. Big guy, how about you lend me one coin? You can think of it as an investment. Since you could see through me, you should know my value. One gold coin is all I need.”

Hearing that, Bobby laughed out loud while Celine was looking at me with hateful eyes.

“Hahaha. Man, I like your guts. It’s been a while since we saw a gutsy and intelligent newcomer like you. However, I don’t know whether what you said earlier is true or not. I’ll send someone to check it first.”

I never thought that the man in front of me wasn’t that easy to fool. After all, for someone to be able to make a torture house like this, he mustn’t be a fool. Many people will be misguided by his strong appearance, but I see cunningness behind it. However, I didn’t flinch at all, or he would find out the truth as he kept on looking at me with a sharp eye.

Bobby said that he would ask someone to check whether I met with Dominic and Sylvia, but he didn’t do anything but only stared at me. Only after a few seconds passed, he laugh again.

“Haha. It seemed that you’re really not lying. If you’re lying, you would be panicking right now. Alright, so, you want to borrow one coin from me?”

“Well, I want you to call it an investment. I would have to return it to you if I borrowed it, right? If you invest in me, you would get a profit or might even be a loss. I might return the one coin to you many times greater or might not even return it to you. What do you say?”

Bobby then looked at me with eyes full of curiosity. As for Celine,  she seemed to have difficulty understanding the situation.

“Well, what you said is just an empty promise, isn’t it? How about I didn’t give you any coin, yet I also didn’t want to let you leave this place? I want to see you die in front of me. Wouldn’t that be great?”

As I thought, although he is smart, for someone like him to create a torture house, he must have some psychopathic tendencies. Right now, this is the time for my silver tongue to shine.
