“So, what would you like to eat first?" Declan asked, handing me a glass of wine. He had brought a bottle of wine and two crystal glasses in a protective case to keep them from breaking.
“What did you bring?" I tried to look into the basket, but he stopped me.
“Uh-huh." He smiled, shaking his head. “It's a surprise." He made a show of looking into the basket, teasing me. “Let's see, I brought pâté and crackers, sandwiches, and fried chicken," he said, taking out the containers.
“Fried chicken?" I arched an eyebrow. “You didn't make it. Did you?"
“Umm... no."
I laughed.
“Actually, I had my chef prepare everything for me." He shrugged, handing me the container of fried chicken. “I just told him what I wanted, and he prepared it for me."
