Michael came to the office early the next day to sign his closing documents. We'd agreed with the buyer to close as quickly as possible so we wouldn't have any more issues with the house. Crystal was very pale when she saw Michael walk in. I wasn't sure if she was angry or scared. Mandy heard through the grapevine that Crystal had received a cease-and-desist letter from Michael's lawyers.
Once the documents were signed and sent over to the listing office, Michael and I went out for a celebratory brunch.
“Just to be clear," I said over a mimosa, “I always celebrate with my clients like this. You aren't special."
He placed his hand over his heart and pretended he was wounded.
“I'd like to think I'm a little special. After all, how many clients know what your 'O' face looks like?"
