Confused

Nathan did not find anyone in the toilet. The student he saw before was not there. There was no way he was hallucinating. He washed his face with cold tap water. Nathan's mind and mood deteriorated. Even though he hopes to do fun things on campus.

Nathan decided to return to the classroom, where only Max was still waiting faithfully.

"Long time." Reprimand Max. "There's a letter from finance." Max handed him a sheet of paper. Nathan opened it immediately. He was very surprised to see the college bill that had not been paid.

"What is wrong?" asked Max.

"It doesn't make sense, it's embarrassing." Nathan was embarrassed. He just found out that his father had not paid the tuition fee for two months.

Max looked at the bill. She understood Nathan's feelings. "Maybe your father is very busy. You can tell him later."

"No. No matter how busy you are, you have time to pay for it. You don't have to come to campus or the bank, anyway." Nathan was very upset. He took his backpack and walked away.

"Where are you going?" asked Max.

"I'll look for him in the laboratory. I wonder what kind of work makes him derelict from duty."

Max could not say anything other than to let Nathan go. All this time she had known that Nathan and her father were not getting along very well.

Nathan immediately boarded the bus to the laboratory where his father worked. The laboratory belongs to a wealthy businessman and is also supported by the government. Just because of the job, his father promised to make him happy. But in reality Nathan was getting lonely.

Nathan could no longer contain the anger and disappointment he had been feeling all this time. He didn't just feel the misfortune of losing a mother. But also lost the figure of a father.

"I would like to meet Professor William," Nathan said at the information desk.

"Okay wait a minute."

Nathan stood waiting and watched the people passing by in the laboratory. Almost everyone there is a scientist. The rest are entrepreneurs or admin.

"Please enter the director's room on the fifth floor," said the employee.

Nathan immediately entered the elevator to the floor mentioned. Usually he goes downstairs to meet his father. Because his father worked in the basement. But this time Nathan went to an upper floor which he had never been to.

The fifth floor consists of several rooms. Administration room, deputy director, meeting room to director room. Nathan knocked on the door and it didn't take long for it to open. A man beckons in. Then the man came out after closing. Now Nathan was only with a man William's age in the room.

"Are you Nathan?" asked the man.

"Right."

"Nice to meet you. I'm George, the chairman here," he said, holding out his hand.

Nathan hesitated to shake hands, but in the end he shook hands with George.

"Where's Will?" asked Nathan.

"Sit down." George asked Nathan to sit in the chair opposite him.

Nathan immediately followed George's request. He wanted to meet William immediately so he chose to comply.

"I heard you wanted to see William. But your father hasn't been in the company for three days."

"What?" George's words took Nathan by surprise.

"That day, we were attacked and the species we were researching fled. In the escape attempt not a few were injured. Do you know what happened to them?"

Nathan shook his head.

"They were all infected, including me. Since then your father never came. How dare he run away from responsibility!" said George emphatically. "Tell me where your father is!" Snapped George.

"If I had known, I wouldn't have come looking for him," Nathan said irritably. He was about to leave. However, several guards entered the room.

"What does all this mean!?!" Nathan was getting annoyed.

"Sorry, we have to arrest you so that your father will come here," said George, giving the code to immediately arrest Nathan.

Nathan dodged as soon as someone was about to catch him, he even fought back and when he had a chance he immediately ran towards the elevator. However, the elevator doors closed. Nathan was forced to go to the stairs. As they were about to descend, a guard came from below making Nathan change his footsteps up the stairs to the upper room. Whenever he reached the next floor, there were always guards who had run towards him. As a result, Nathan continued to climb until he came to the roof of the laboratory building.

"Just give up. We will not hurt you. We just need your father to come and find a solution to our problem," said George who also chased Nathan to the roof of the building.

"You guys are lying. Father must be here. You wanted to catch you on purpose so you could continue to blackmail him. The proof is that you didn't pay it so you couldn't pay my tuition fees!" Snapped Nathan.

"You misunderstood. Your father's pay is very high. Maybe he forgot. Please believe me," said George as he continued to walk closer.

Nathan looked at the edge of the building. If he took a little wrong step, he would slip and fall. Unexpectedly, when Nathan predicted this, his leg slipped and he fell from the roof of the very tall laboratory building.

Nathan screamed in terror. He could be sure his head would break and his bones would break. The possibility of life does not exist at all. He should have chosen to obey and be taken hostage rather than die like a fool.

Nathan shouted while closing his eyes. He gave up if he finally died at a young age. Until a second later Nathan felt his legs go numb for a moment, Nathan's spirit must have gotten used to his body. Nathan ventured to open his eyes. Strangely, he was in the courtyard of the building in a crouched position. His body condition is fine. He wasn't hurt at all.

"Impossible," muttered Nathan. He saw the roof of the building, several people trying to catch it were there and looked up at it. Nathan immediately got up and continued walking. He had to get away from the company before they could drag him away.

Nathan managed to escape after getting into the taxi. He was about to go to his house, but there were several cars there. Some people also appeared on guard in front of the yard. Finally Nathan asked the taxi to take him to Max's house.

Nathan was confused thinking about everything that had happened. What happened in the laboratory where his father worked and what happened to him. How can Nathan survive death after jumping high from the building. Everything she was going through was ridiculous.

"Nath, what happened?" asked Max.

Nathan did not answer. He immediately went into Max's house.

"You know, my father did not go into the laboratory where he worked. And the laboratory leadership was about to arrest me," Nathan said frantically.

"Nath, calm down." Max served him a glass of water and Nathan immediately drank it up.

"I have to find my father. However, I must not be caught. Would you like to help me?" asked Nathan.

"I'll help you. We'll find your father," Max replied without hesitation. Because whenever Max got into a problem Nathan always helped. Now is the time for Max to repay Nathan's kindness.
