Briana listened and heard Dracon talking to the guard outside the door, but couldn't make out what was being said. She quickly jumped into bed and pulled the covers over her, feigning sleep.
A moment later, Dracon peered into the door. Briana heard the squeaking of the heavy, wooden door as the dim light spilled in from the hallway. She hoped that he would just look in and go away. Surely he would not try something again while she slept.
