Lucas POV A knock on my office door interrupts my thoughts as I sit at my desk near the window. "Come in," I say to the person outside. Jenson enters the room and looks at me with his friendly eyes. "Alpha, can we talk to Kaylie now and find out what really happened when she encountered the late Luna Leah? We need to start investigating the incident. It's been almost three weeks," Jenson says to me. I fall silent, actually not wanting to discuss the matter again. In my mind, I want to believe that the human named Kaylie is responsible for the death of my Leah. I want to blame her for all that happened. Maybe at that time, Leah, who was seven months pregnant, suddenly went into labor, and because of the ignorance of that human doctor and her arrogant attempt to help Leah, Leah died. But seeing my son who only wants to be cared for and carried by her, I start to doubt if she really caused Leah's death. But if it wasn't her, then who? Leah couldn't have died so easily without some extraordinary event causing it. Leah was a Luna. She was strong. "Luc..." Jenson says, breaking my train of thought. "You shouldn't blame Kaylie. It's unlikely that she hurt Luna Leah after everything she did to help her. Kaylie told Rose that she struggled to pull Leah, who had shifted into a wolf, toward the cave where we found them because she wanted to help. She did all that while carrying Adam. Just imagine how difficult it must have been for her, pulling a wolf while carrying a baby. You need to stop blaming Kaylie. Let's talk to her and have her tell us about Leah condition when she found her. Leah couldn't have just died without something happening to her. Let's go." I reluctantly nod, realizing that Jenson is right. I can't jump to conclusions and blame Kaylie without knowing the full story. Maybe there's more to the situation than meets the eye. We need to gather the facts and understand what truly happened that day. It's time to set aside my personal doubts and approach the situation with an open mind. Together, Jenson and I make our way to find Kaylie and ask her about the events surrounding Leah's death. Jenson and I enter the gazebo in the backyard of my house. Kaylie is already there with Adam, accompanied by Rose, who has been with Kaylie all this time. I still haven't visited my son because I can't bring myself to look at him. I feel immense guilt for not being able to protect his mother, and I still can't bring myself to gaze upon Adam's face because I see Leah, whom I loved dearly, in his features. The incidents when I allowed Leah to go out alone while she was pregnant haunt me constantly. Kaylie is gently patting Adam, who is sleeping in her arms. "Kaylie, our Alpha wants to talk to you now. It's not an interrogation, only a chit chat for us like old friends. Let's have a conversation and find out what really happened on that day," Jenson says as we both sit in front of these two women. I still can't bring myself to look at my son, whom Kaylie has placed in the stroller. Kaylie lifts her head and smiles. "Okay, let's talk, but before that, may I ask your Alpha why he hasn't visited his child in my room for three weeks or asked me to bring the child to his room if he doesn't want to enter mine? I also want to ask him if he even knows his child's name?" Kaylie's tone is high-pitched and disrespectful. This human woman has crossed the line. How dare she question my actions? I am an Alpha, the highest authority of the Blue Sapphire Pack. I glare at her in anger, but Kaylie fearlessly challenges me with her fiery gaze. "Please understand, Alpha Lucas, Kaylie. He is still mourning," Rose says, trying to ease the tension between us. " A week? Fine. Two weeks? Okay. But after three weeks, it's no longer just mourning. It's cowardice. How can a father not even bother to see his own child, to hold him in his arms, to be there for him? It's not just about me or Leah anymore. It's about Adam, your son, who deserves to know his father and feel his love." Her words strike a chord deep within me, piercing through the walls of my guilt and self-pity. “ Now just answer my question. What is your child's name?" Kaylie asks sarcastically. "Adam," I reply. "Do you know who gave him that name?" she asks again. "Of course, Leah did." "You're wrong. Leah was too weak to give him a name. I gave him that name. At that time, Leah was too weak to even name Adam. She was just trying her best to survive so that I could save Adam and bring him to you. If you hate me so much, you can change your child's name before everyone starts calling him Adam." She says. I am stunned. So, it wasn't Leah who named Adam. I was also puzzled as to why my son was named Adam when Leah had told me that if we had a son, we would name him Dominik, and if it was a daughter, she would be named Danella. Apparently, Adam was named by this human. But it's impossible for me to change it now. The entire Blue Sapphire Pack family and the council know Leah's and my baby as Adam, and his name has already been registered with the wolf birth registry. I am not a good father. I haven't visited or seen my son for three weeks. I regret it now. I shouldn't have been like that. I mutter to myself "Alright, I apologize for not visiting Adam all this time. I still feel incredibly guilty and unable to look into his eyes and face because of what happened to his mother. I should have been there to protect her. I should have been there with her. I feel immense remorse," I say, my voice trembling with emotion. "And I can't change Adam's name anymore, as it has already been registered with the wolf birth registry. Let him keep the name you gave him, the name that given from the woman who saved his life. Now, I believe it wasn't you who caused Leah's death, considering everything you did for her and Adam. Please forgive me." I speak like a gentleman , ready to apologize when I am wrong. Kaylie's expression softens, and with a smile, she replies, "That's more like it, an Alpha should be. Alright, since you've apologized, I will forgive you. I believe Adam will forgive you too because he truly a sweet and cute baby. When he wakes up, I want you to hold him. Don't refuse me. You have to hold him. Otherwise, I won't tell you about the moment I had with Leah." Kaylie's face is beaming with a smile. "Kaylie, Kaylie, why are you so bold, speaking with a threatening tone to our Alpha?" Rose says while laughing. Kaylie responds with her cheerful voice, "He may be your Alpha, but he's not my Alpha because I am a human." I can only grimace. Jenson and Rose burst into laughter, nodding in agreement with Kaylie's words. The atmosphere lightens, and now the four of us engage in a friendly conversation. Kaylie no longer seems angry with me, and I no longer feel that she is the one responsible for Leah's death. It seems she is a kind-hearted woman, cheerful, and truly loves Adam with all her heart. And the hurt in my heart lessens as we continue in this friendly conversation
