The last thing Scarlett needed was a mate.

As the infamous Rouge Assassin –named so due to her red hair –in the City of Corpses, she believed she was perfectly fine on her own. The people regarded her as a deadly beauty because every time a person was blessed to see her beauty, he would be dead the next second. She just hit the jackpot when a mission acquired her to murder the son of the Alpha King from the Moonchaser Clan. The son of the man who led the attack on her clan years ago.

Trey Moonchaser.

It was only until she had crept to his bedroom and posed a knife at his throat that she realized… he was her mate.

A/N and POEM
Author note:  Previous title The Alpha and His Rouge Assassin. THE ROUGE IS NOT A TYPO. The people of City of Corpses chose the nickname 'Rouge Assassin' because of Scarlett's red hair. No. It's never meant to be 'Rogue Assassin'. Yes. I know the difference between ROUGE and ROGUE. And would I ever change the title in the future? Maybe.  It's my characters' personal creative choice and those people did have cuckoo brains since City of Corpses is a very shady city to live in so... what can I do? That being said, thank you for taking a chance on this story. Hope you like the characters here as much as I do to develop them. Hope the plot in this story can let you forget whatever you want to forget even for just a while. P.S. This is the second story from the Dawnless Sisters series BUTT you can read this book as a stand-alone. If you have read Lyria's book and only want to know how Scarlett's story will converge with Lyria, go to chapter 85 until the end.  And this book will also intertwine with The Emperor's Black Swan (still free until completion) starting from chapter 77 :) *** At dawn, A heart was torn She realized love was a pawn Before the day turned to morn’ No time to fawn She must sing free her life’s lorn   At dawn, She ran to the dark The cold has grown To make a mark of her own She must be crowned Dear, hide your frown Hide your sorrow Let your secrets drown In the death town   At dawn, Her hair flared against the night Her eyes shone through the sand A fire, a light A destroyer of man A red dot under the stars Lovely, but full of scars   At dawn, She would charm She would fight She would take revenge She would bring fright   At dawn, She is dawnless.       –The Red Wolf, by Karasmara.
