Chapter 10 : Cross's Threat

 After the fight on the dock area, between Kevin and Oliver against George's group has ended, now Kevin decided to rest for two days in home, so he could improve his condition and heal the wounds all over his body, so that Kevin's body condition could be completely fit again. Fortunately, Kevin's mother didn't see that Kevin had ever sneaked at night to meet and help Oliver, so until now, his mother still thinks that Kevin's injuries are the result of a previous accident.

 During those two days, Kevin also kept in touch with Oliver, he always call and asked him how he was doing on his cell phone, and told Oliver to tell him if something bad happened. But it seems Oliver's condition is still fine, even today, Oliver still continues his activities as a warehouse employee in a toolkit factory.

 Then, that day arrived. The day Kevin will take the ultimate weapon that has been stored in the bunker below his house, because now Kevin's power has awakened and he has recovered, so he is ready to take that weapon. On that day, from morning to noon Kevin waited for his mother to leave the house for shopping. After removing all the bandages that covered several of his limbs. Then he immediately went to the secret room below, which was a bunker or a private room that was belong to his late father.

 Kevin will try to retrieve the weapons stored in the vault on that room. Previously Kevin had tried to open the vault door, but he couldn't open it because he forgot the combination number. But now, because the power inside his body has awakened, Kevin can forcefully open the door using his strength.

Because right now the house was quiet, the loud noise caused by Kevin's blows could not be heard by other people. Kevin continued to hit the vault door until it was dented and damaged, after which Kevin was able to open the vault door then pull it untill dislodged from the wall.

 So finally he was able to retrieve the items that were inside the vault. Kevin's hands trembled when he was holding the special gun created by his father, a large black pistol with green stripes, with bullets extracted from the horns of the monsters, the gun can shoot a fatal shot that can penetrate the skin of monsters and kill those monsters with ease.

 Kevin seemed to really admire that thing, and he felt very happy because after all this time he was finally able to use that weapon again to kill monsters. Apart from taking the weapon, Kevin also took several other objects that were inside the vault, namely an extractor tube, several boxes filled with bullets, and a letter from a his father.

 Now Kevin can do the task that is written in his father's will, which asks Kevin to protect his mother. With his current strength and weapons, Kevin will try even harder to eradicate all evil monsters, as well as prevent the monster apocalypse, which until now hef has limited clues.

 In the evening, after finishing eating with his mother, Kevin immediately returned to his room to sleep. But there was something that had always bothered Kevin for the past two days, namely the smell of strangers he didn't recognize, the scent came from the streets around Kevin's house and their position was always changing like going in the cyrcle, the scent always smelled from morning to morning again, so that Kevin began to suspect that he was currently being watched.

 Since the power in Kevin's body has awakened, Kevin's olfactory ability has indeed increased, so he will become sensitive if he senses the presence of strangers, be they humans or monsters. But now he believes that the people who are watching him are human, and they are at some point not far from Kevin's house, so that the current state of Kevin's house is like being surrounded.

 And it turned out that it was true, the people who were watching Kevin's house were humans, or rather the monster hunter soldiers from NeoGen, they were ordered by Cross to keep an eye on Kevin for 24 hours, and they had to report if anything strange happened, besides that they also have to follow wherever Kevin goes. The surveillance began since the incident at the dock, where Cross accidentally saw Kevin who was there while carrying Oliver.

 At this moment, one of the soldiers was reporting to Cross via a phone call, "Hello, Captain ... I want to report, it's been 2 days since our surveilence, the target has not left the house at all, and so far nothing unusual has happened."

 "oke, keep an eye on him. And if anything happens, report it to me immediately. " Said Cross.

 "Yes Captain." Then the call is closed.

 Then, not long after, Kevin's figure began to appear out through the window of his room, by sneaking so he doesn’t be caught by his mother. After that Kevin rode his motorcycle and headed off to some place. When they saw Kevin's departure, the soldiers immediately started their vehicle to start following Kevin's whereabouts, not forgetting that they also reported to Cross about the location Kevin was going to, so without thinking, Cross immediately went to the location mentioned by his men.

 Kevin went to a housing area that was quiet, because it was already late at night. When he got there, Kevin immediately parked his vehicle, then he walked into a narrow alley. Then the soldiers who were still following him also immediately parked their vehicles in the distance, and a few moments later Cross and his other men also began to arrive at thet place. Then after they all gathered, they just walked together towards the narrow alley that Kevin had entered.

 While aiming their guns towards the front, they walked carefully down the narrow alley, until they finally found Kevin, who was standing in a dead end which was blocked by the walls of the houses, so it was certain that Kevin was currently couldn't go anywhere, he was in a corner and there was no way to escape from the surounding of Cross’s troops.

 But Kevin's facial expression looked very calm, and it seemed like he had come there deliberately to lure the soldiers, because he knew that he was being watched and would always be followed wherever he went, by the monster hunter troops under Cross's leadership, so he could take them all into ths narrow alley right now. Then when the soldiers arrived near Kevin, Cross immediately spoke while still aiming his gun at Kevin.

 "Don't move! Stay there, Kevin."

 Then with a smile, Kevin also spoke, "Hmm, I know that i’ve being followed, actually I feel uncomfortable if there are strangers watching me."

 "Then we are even now, because when we first met, you were also follow and watching us, right?"

 "Hmm, that's right."

 "I want to ask, what is your relationship with the Gargoyle monsters on the dock area??" Cross asked Kevin.

 "What are you talking about? I don't understand." Kevin dodged.

But before they all got to him, Kevin suddenly pulled out his gun and aimed at Cross's head, so it made Cross and his soldiers stoped immediately. Kevin's weapon emitted a very threatening green light and looked dangerous, making Cross and his soldiers not dare to do any further.

 "What's that weapon?" Asked Cross.

 "Secret." Kevin replied.

 "Okay, listen. I already know about your identity, and even I also know about your father who is a former NeoGen scientist. So, was that weapon your father's creation? And do you want to become a monster hunter for his sake? ” Asked Cross again.

 “Ooh, so you work for NeoGen. Now that we know each other's secrets, and I will tell you about one thing, which is about our differences ... you hunt monsters and turn their horns into commercial equipment without trying to root out the problem. Whereas I hunted the monsters, and turned their horns into bullets, so that I could eradicate more of them and try to get this problem down to the root of the problem ... That means you only regard the existence of monsters as business, whereas I consider the existence of the monsters as a serious problem! ”

 "Who said that we didn't take their existence seriously ?? !!!" Cross didn't want to be accused of not caring about the problem of the monsters phenomenon.

 "Then, do you know that monsters came through the dimefnsion rift? Which are maybe still appearing in various places to this day?"

 Then immediately, Cross and his soldiers fell silent. They could not say anything else, because that was the case, they were just soldiers who hunted monsters for money, and they didn't care even if those dimensions rift kept popping up. Because NeoGen actually doesn’t care about the number of dimensional rift that are trully the root cause of the monsters existence, NeoGen allows this phenomenon to continue so that their livelihood will never run out.

 Then Kevin continued his words, “The NeoGen company doesn't care about the safety of this earth, you are only trying to make as much money as possible from the phenomenon of the monsters exsistence. As for me, I will try to end this phenomenon and save the earth from being destroyed. "

 “Hmm, maybe what you say about us is true… But, how do you know that the earth will experience destruction from this phenomenon ?? Who are you? " Cross said.

 "... Hahahaaha." Kevin laughed, which left Cross and his Soldiers in confusion.

 Then Kevin said with a smile, "Trust me, I know more about it than you guys."

 “Enough talking! Now I will beat you and take that weapon from you! ” Cross said with determination to silenced Kevin and protect the NeoGen’s Secret.

 But a moment after Cross said that, Kevin suddenly jumped very high, then he landed right in the middle of the crowd Soldiers, while the soldiers were silent and stared as they saw Kevin was near them. Then quickly, Kevin beat up those Soldiers until they were all overwhelmed and fell one by one. Kevin hit and kicked them until they fell and knocked out, then some of them even shot their friends because Kevin made them to shoot the wrong target. Kevin really beat them up there until they all collapsed and left Cross alone to still stand up.

 Then a very fierce battle between Cross and Kevin began. Cross's fighting abilities are able to make Kevin have a little trouble on fighting him, even Cross can also give several attacks that injure Kevin's body. However, Kevin still has greater ability and strength than Cross, so that just one hit from Kevin can make Cross's body throwed till crash and hit the wall.

 After that Cross's body fell helplessly, and he could only moan while enduring the pain in his stomach. So after the fight at that place was over, Kevin decided to leave them, he would return to his home. But before Kevin left, Cross yelled at him for some kind of threat.

 "Hey !! You think you are greater than us? !! We will continue to hunt you down !! And we will even try to hunt down your friend! … And if he is a Gargoyle, then we will definitely kill him !! ”

 Then Kevin aimed his gun at Cross's head, so that immediately Cross could only be speechless while flabbergasted, because he thought that he would die after giving that threat to Kevin.

 But Kevin said, "You can hunt me. But if I find your soldiers near my house again, then I will not hesitate to kill them. Don't mess with my private life !! ... Besides that I also won't let you mess with my friends. Remember that carefully !! " Kevin turned to threaten Cross, so Cross was left speechless, and he felt that he had been shamely defeated by Kevin.

 After that Kevin immediately left Cross and his soldiers who were lying unconscious there.

 From now on, the relationship between Kevin and Cross is getting heated. The competition between the monster hunters from NeoGen who are concerned about money, and the monster hunters who are concerned with virtue, has already started, which of them is the most correct?
