Prologue

Red Wood was once declared one of the safest towns to live in. It is small everyone knew each other; perfect place to build a life and a family. But everyone has their secrets and you know what is done in the dark eventually is bought to the light.

                Kalani was a normal 16-year-old, she was popular had the best boyfriend Marcos and the best of friends. Ashleigh was her best friend and they did everything together. Esteban and Marcos were their boyfriends and each other’s best friends, along with Ashleigh’s twin brother Ashton. Kalani loved doing things with her parents and little sister Milani. Life was great….until it wasn’t anymore.

                How will the citizens of Red Wood and Kalani handle the mysterious murder of Ashleigh? The rumors went flying from drugs to even some saying it was Kalani. A broken hearted Kalani was walking to school one day when someone threw a black sac over her head and threw her in a van. Another horrible tragedy in Red Wood, which cause no one to see Kalani for 12 whole years and they all thought she ran away because of Ashleigh. When she is found after an escape will she be able to handle the change of her once perfect life? Things are different, no one is who they seem, hearts get broken and secrets and betrayals get spilled.
