An Attack in the Night

1300 Words
The young woman begged as she was dragged into the alley. She tried to scream but a rough hand covered her cries. It was late night in the city, in the worst part of town .Who could say how the young woman got herself in this predicament, possibly an online date gone bad? Anyway, here she was all alone in a dark alley devoid of anyone who could help her. She was at the mercy of her three attackers, who would have her way with her. They were so engrossed and fueled with energy and excitement of torturing the helpless woman, they didn’t notice the dark figure perched atop the building above watching them, waiting to make her move. She sat there silently, in attack position, one knee up one knee down, ready to pounce at any minute. Her black clothes, mask,  and hooded cloak blended perfectly into the moonless inky night. Any move she made was so skillfully planned, not a noise was heard. She watched silently as the three men roughed the woman up and jerked her around, waiting for the right time to pounce. “Help, Help!",  the woman screamed, as they tore her dress, grunting and yelling with nasty desire. “Shut up and take what’s coming to you,”, the one in front of her yelled. The one behind her held her tight, but the third one stood to the side, laughing, it wouldn’t be long before he could take his turn. The others didn’t notice the dark figure leap down  behind him..  Something swiftly brought him to his knees, and quietly wrapped something around his neck, choking him until he passed out. No one saw the hooded, cloaked figure drag him out of earshot silently,  further into the dark alley. First asshole down, now to patiently wait for the next… The first thug let the woman go so the second could have his way, but as he turned to the third to say, “Raw dog, we’ll get her warmed up for ya,” his buddy was nowhere to be found. Losing focus on the screaming woman, he slowly walked down the alley trying to find his third partner in crime. “Raw Dog, Where the f**k are you man, “, he whispered as he made his way, further from the second man, about to violently attack the young woman, but the third one had disappeared. “Raw dog, man, you’re scaring me dude, get the f**k out here before we have to call this whole thing off,” Through the black of midnight, he could not see or feel the dark figure and the feline smile draped across her mouth as she crept up behind him. The man made one more futile attempt to find his friend, “Raw dog, dammit,” was all he could say before he felt someone jump on his back, with their legs wrapped around his waist. A wet cloth covered his mouth before he could call for help. He jerked his waist around flinging back and forth, reaching his arms behind his head, to try and fend off the tiny thing on his back. But whoever it was had a death grip around his waist and mouth, hugging him in a vice grip with their legs. The harder he struggled, the tighter the legs gripped his ribs,  making him struggle for a breath. When he took a gasp in, the legs only clenched tighter, making it almost impossible to inhale .He reached back and grabbed a handful of hair as he became dizzy and slumped to the floor. Second one down, he was the strongest, the third one would be easy. Slap! The terrified young woman managed to free a hand and make a feeble attempt to defend herself. “Stop struggling !", Her second attacker yelled, then an evil grin overtook him. “I’m gonna enjoy this!" he licked his lips as he looked down at the defenseless woman. The woman started to scream again, but stopped as a small dark figure approached the second man from behind, putting a finger to their lips, signaling the woman to be quiet. The thug jerked  his prey closer, but was surprised when instead of wailing, she just stood there motionless. He backed away from her confused, “What’s wrong with you?, you decide to give in, I liked it better when you begged for mercy, oh well I’m just going to make you scream louder..” His words were cut short when something flipped over his head. Landing flat footed, the woman’s protector knocked her assailant down with an upward thrust to the throat. “You,” the young woman's jaw dropped as she looked over her tiny savior. “ Be quiet,” a small voice whispered. ”I’m not done yet A girl, the woman’s savior was a young girl. The woman’s mouth flung open, as she watched the tiny figure pummel her attacker with a pair of nunchaku with uncanny precision. When she was satisfied with the c*****e, the tiny figure sat the badly bloodied, unconscious man upright and quickly bound his hands and mouth with duct tape. “Stay here,” the tiny voice ordered the woman, and her tiny avenger  disappeared.  The sounds of groans and an eerie dragging noise caused the woman to turn her head.  Out of the shadows came the tiny girl, dragging the two other men. She roughly dropped the thugs at the battered woman’s feet, giving them a few well deserved kicks along the way. The one was knocked out cold, but the other was still struggling a bit. “This one’s still awake,” she whispered “Anything you want to do for him before I finish my work,?” At the invitation, the young woman punched the third man in the mouth. Drawing back her trembling fist, she landed another, this time square in the nose. Blood and snot flew  splattered on the young woman's torn dress, as the man sputtered and cried. “You broke my nose, you b***h!" was all he got out before the tiny figure shot him with a taser, sending quivers of voltage down his cowardly spine. The young woman stood there in shock. One minute she was being brutally attacked, fighting for her life, the next she was saved, by a faceless avenger so tiny, that it looked like she wouldn't hurt a fly. Yet this person subdued three huge men with the ease of an NFL linebacker, making it look like they were sacks of flour being thrown around. The young woman watched in disbelief as this tiny “girl’ tied them all together with duct tape, around their waists, feet and their mouths until the whole roll was gone. She stood up and smiled, though the woman could hardly see the girl, for her face was covered by a cat like mask, and her body was covered in black from head to toe, in a hooded cloak. “Th, Thank you,” the woman stammered, how can I ever repay you, you saved me” “ Just tell no one you saw me,” The woman whispered as she backed into the shadows. ”Call the cops and stay here, it won’t take them a minute, you will be safe and you can identify them.. or you can go home with the satisfaction these assholes will never touch another woman,” “Wait, I don’t even know your name,” “Just call me kitten,” she smiled, as she disappeared into the black of night. Layla slipped away into the inky abyss, gathering her bag of goodies along the way. “Three down, many more to go, and they never knew what hit them,” She whispered as she jumped backup  on the building,  like a cat , sneaking to her unknown destination. “No one saw me, quick as a cat, she smiled," Good job Layla, "  she whispered to herself, her yellow-gold eyes gleaming in the night.
