Anna had agreed only because it was a dying woman's wish but she did not want to, she had bagged her sister not to marry Eric because according to her he was a poor man and only wanted Sarah only for her money. Sarah had not listened and married Eric anyway, much to Anna's horror Eric had made bad investments with Sarah's money and lost everything and she had never forgave her sister and never spoke to her again until on her dying bed when she had rushed to the hospital after hearing about the accident. She agreed to take her niece in but was not happy about it, her sister had turned to an inconvenience and she had left her with a child she did not know or want. Summer's pov My parents had gone out in a hurry and left me with our neighbors, I don't know what was going on but my mom looked scared and also looked like she was crying this mostly happened when bad men came to our house and trashed it, Most of the time they sent me to our neighbors where I played with Sammie I would go back when they left but this time they left me at Sammie's house saying they would come back for me only they didn't. The police came and said my parents were involved in an accident and had passed away and my aunt was left in charge of me. I had heard about my aunt but never met her, my mom said she was beautiful and she missed her a lot but she did not want to see us, I was young so I never understood why. The police took me to this lady in a suit who was going to take me to my aunt's home. The house was beautiful, to me it was what I thought palaces from the fairytales my mom always used to read to me about looked like. The lady her name was Rebecca knocked and a beautiful woman opened the door, she smiled but as soon as she Rebecca left her face looked scary. She said I was supposed to call her madam and I was supposed to do everything she tells me or she would throw me out. “come here let me show you to your room " said aunt Anna My room if I could call it that was the smallest room I have ever seen I did not even believe this big house could have a room so small but there was and it was my room Next morning I woke up early to ask about my parent's burial and I was told that the government was going to handle it and she was busy she could not take me. That hurt a lot because I was never going to know where my parents were going to be buried. “why are you standing there go make breakfast, the kitchen is over there after that clean Mary will show you where the cleaning supplies are. " “but I don't know how to cook or clean I'm only 10". Shocked couldn't even begin to express how I felt. “and this my problem because? "she asked Just then a palish looking man with glasses came in, my aunt told me it was my uncle and should hurry and get breakfast going he in turn acted as if I was not there. I ran tears in my eyes and cooked, my hands got burned a couple of times and the food was a little burned but I was happy with my effort considering it was my first time cooking. I received the first of my many beatings that day and if I made such food again it would be worse than now and I was supposed to make sure the house shined or I was going to regret it as my aunt said this I looked hopefully at my uncle thinking he would come to my rescue again he acted as if he did not see me.
