Lunas call

Chapter 1. Prologue

*Third persons POV*

Every ten years, small groups of two to three angels are sent to earth to ensure that everything is in order with the supernatural side on the ground.

That humans are clueless as of the beginning of time.

It was autumn of 2000, Lilith, with her brother Elijah and best friend Scarlet, was sent down for seven days to roam the earth and look for anything that would be out of its line. For example, vampires might relax too much and start enslaving humans instead of secretly doing the deed and moving on, or witches' killing people for spells and rituals while they should get everything they need the way humans do if they need something shady, through the black market.

As these two worlds can't coexist peacefully, no one of another origin can control humans. The only way is to live along...

Lilith was going from place to place, looking at every creature that exists.

Finally, she found a couple of ''criminals'' as humans say, and eliminated them with no complications, releasing victims, with erased memories, of course, so far nothing too serious...

As day four began, she contacted Elijah and Scarlet to check if everything is alright on their ends.

'Hey, you alright, any problems found?' She questioned Elijah.

'Hey baby sis, found nothing on my part. What's up on your side? And why do we have to use these so-called cellphones when we can mind link for crying out loud!'

'Eli, cmon man, we're on earth, so why not try something new? Something they use, and we don't? It looks pretty useful for them, so I thought, why not?' Lilith shrugged while holding in a laugh from his reaction. 'Yeah, okay, it does seem useful since humans can't mind link. So, anyway, you didn't answer my question. So what's up on your side?' Elijah asked again.

'Oh, sorry, yes, everything is alright, one more location left to visit, and after that, I'll have two more days to get to know about life here. Would you like to join, or should I explore alone?' Asked Lilith while deep in thoughts. She was always interested in earth and even wanted to come down and try living here.

'Nah, sis, I'm good, going to rest somewhere in Hawaii till Saturday, but you, have your mini vacation. '

'One last thing, did you hear from Scarlet already?'

'Yes, she's done as well, nothing too serious, just a couple vampires and a witch, she cleared them easily.'

'Alright then, see you in two days.'

'Bye, sis, enjoy, and a ..call me if anything happens.' Lilith hung up the phone and started to pack for the last city she'll be visiting.

After two hours flight and one more in a cab, she finally sees the "Welcome to Illinois state" sign and is more than eager to find a hotel, rent a room and rest for a bit after a tiring trip.

Three hours passed.

From Cairo to Rockford, it was pretty quiet. Only when she reached Chicago, something strange caught her senses and she immediately began investigating.

The city had nothing intriguing besides witches, shapeshifters, werewolves. They were all successfully living unseen with humans, so she had no other choice than to continue investigating further from the city and entering the woods.

What caught her senses first was that there could be no life felt around. It seemed as the forest has died.

Minutes, even hours passed, it started to get dark, but she's still looking, not being able to let go of the feeling that something terrible is going on.

Few more minutes passed, and...

She started hearing voices while coming closer to what seems like a big open circle in the middle of the woods. 'Finally, we caught her...'Said one voice. She peeked through the bushes and saw two guys with heavy clothing.

' Yes, having her means no more buying. It's a risk, but I'm fed up without having it available at all times, and because she's immortal, we won't need to look for another one.' Another one responded while holding a chained witch.

Wait, what? They are werewolves. They can't have a captivated witch. She thought. What about the peace treaty all supernaturals signed ages ago.

But before she was able to show up noticed three more guys. Again, appearance hid with heavy clothing, coming from the other side of the circle, she decided to stay hidden. By doing this, she might find out more than speaking directly. One of the three guys was taller than all of them. She guessed he's the leader. Great, he might just say something that would clear her confusion.

While observing, she hasn't noticed that someone snuck up on her until she felt being grabbed and turned around.

She concentrated on trying to see who isn't allowing for her to work and... She was met with the most beautiful man she has ever seen. He quickly motioned to stay quiet while dragged her gently towards the car, which wasn't there when she first came.

Once they were sitting inside, Lilith was still confused about what's going on or why this handsome creature, a werewolf to be precise, disturbed her mission.

'May I ask what a young woman is doing in the middle of nowhere? And why were you watching those cult members?' He asked while looking at her from head to toe.

Lilith was too deep in her mind to hear what he said.

All she did was look at him, his beautiful face, sharp jaw, brown eyes, short but soft looking beard, and hair, dark as night, has some length but not too much, just under his ears, if only she could raise her hand and run her fingers in them. And this strange pull, she can't resist wanting to make his appearance in, to think about touching him.

He cleared his throat.

(Lily, wake up! She slapped herself mentally.)

As for now, she's slowly coming back, remembering that she was observing the action in the circle, and then out of nowhere, someone showed up and ...

Now she's sitting in his car.

She cleared her throat, not knowing what to say.

'Who are you?' Eventually asked confused.

'I asked you a question first.' The handsome creature said.

'Oh, um, right, what was it you wanted to know?' She asked when she noticed that he's holding a cringe.

'And what's so funny?'

'Nothing?' He said, but it seemed more like a question.

'Okay, let's start again. What's your name?' The guy asked.

'Lilith,' She blurted out.

'Well, hello Lilith, I'm Julian' he raised his hand out for a handshake. She did as well.

'So, as I asked before, what is a young woman doing in the middle of nowhere, watching some cult?'

Cult? What? Oh yeah, he doesn't know that I know. When we come to earth, we use a concealing potion to hide our powers so there would be no commotion between worlds.

'Yes, sorry, I know that these over there are werewolves. For some odd reason, they illegally captured a witch and not just any witch, but an immortal one. You as well are a werewolf and a powerful one, maybe an Alpha? No, your aura emits more power than a regular Alpha, so who are you? 'Lilith said and looked at Julian, noticing his jaw dropped, eyes wide in shock. She just raised an eyebrow in question.

'What? 'She asked.

' Lilith, please tell me who you are, because if you are just a human, as I sense, it is a dangerous game you play. 'He said, shock still visible in his eyes.

' Julian, you first, and after that, I'll tell you what you wanna know,' She said, looking him in the eyes.

He let out a breath that looked like he's been holding in for centuries.

'Okay, let's do it your way then. I'm Julian Ayer, son of Alpha Tobias and Luna Rosalind Ayer, in line to be Alpha for the second largest pack in the world. My father's brother is King Joel Savoy, which might explain why you think my aura is unusual. Now, your turn Lilith. 'He said patiently.

' You mean, you are a descended of Savoy, the first werewolf, so how comes you are Ayer, not Savoy? 'She questioned.

' In order not to put anyone in danger, my grandfather decided to change my father's last name, only leaving Joel Savoy because he was firstborn and a king to be, and my father Tobias Ayer, only the ones who we have alliances with knows the truth. '

' Thank you. I guess my turn now....'

' Yes, so, spill the beans, and we can move on .'Julian said.

' Okay, so as you are a Royal, you should have an idea of what Mu is? 'Lilith asked, looking him in the eyes. After she noticed the knowing spark in them, she relaxed a bit.

' You mean Lemuria?'He asked with wide eyes.

'Yes.' She nodded.

'I can't believe it. You are one of those angels that are being sent down here every couple of years to check for any disruption in the peace treaty, am I right?' He asked.

'So far, you are correct. Before you ask, you can't feel my powers because we always use concealing potion to be masked, as well, I'm very interested to know more details about what's going on down there.' She motioned with her head to the side where the captivated witch is.

' Okay, so, they caught our eyes when they started stealing witches that live within our packs territory, did the same thing for other packs as well, we did some digging on them, and it appears that they steal the witches all over America, drain their blood for as long as possible and after that dispose of them, at least we assume that because none of them came back, or were found anywhere, looks like they just disappeared, and after they capture any new witch, the black market starts to float with witches blood, which for werewolves and vampires is like alcohol and a profitable way to become wealthy because witches blood is always on demand of those junkies who wants nothing to do with the real world. 'Said Julian angrily, making his hands into fists.

' Well, it indeed looks profitable the way you describe it, but as well it's an illegal way, and it must be stopped before it didn't start a commotion between the witches and the rest of us, losing them as allies could mean wars after wars, thank you, Julian, I'll take over from now on.'Lilith said while grabbing something that looks like a potion out of her hiker's backpack.

' What is it? 'Julian asked.

' That's a potion that deactivates the one that's in me now, so I would be able to use my aura fully, and they could feel that I'm more powerful than them, so I could easily order them to tell me everything I wanna know, I might even need to bring them back for a trial. 'She said gulping down the clear liquid.

The moment she drank everything, Julian started acting strange. His eyes went black. It looked like his wolf overtook him without permission. She looked at him with a raised eyebrow.

'Julian, what is going on? ' She asked.

'Mate,' He said with a voice that didn't sound like his.

After she heard it, it struck her like a ton of bricks, that's why she felt the pull, but... What would happen her parents find out? What if they won't let her come back to him? What if she has to wait another ten years just to come back for seven days.

Lilith didn't even notice when tears started rolling down her face. After she came back from her mind wrecking train of thoughts, she noticed that tears aren't falling on her hands, looked down, and saw that this handsome creature's fingers collected every tear she shed. Why is he doing it?

He doesn't know, thinking that Lilith is just a typical guardian sent down for some formalities, but she isn't. She is an only child of King Isaia and Queen Evelyn of the Avacia kingdom in another realm, and this could go wrong real quick if she doesn't decide which path to take.

'Mate... Don't cry...' Lily looked at him and saw only sadness in his black eyes; he might have noticed that the mate bond with him is not something that could work out. Even more, tears started to roll down. 'Please, speak to me. I can't see you cry and not think it's because of me or the bond the moon goddess gifted us with. What's so bad about it?' Julian removed his fingers from her cheek, which seemed to start drying out. He trailed his finger down her face and raised her chin so that he could see those crystal blue eyes.

'Julian, please, I can't, if my parents find out about us, they will lose it, they might even send someone to kill you just so I could be by their leash, they want to control as much as they can of my life, even me being here is of their mercy.' She said with the pain rising in her heart, knowing what she'll have to do if she wants to save him.

' Lilith, can you please explain to me what you mean by that, because as much as I know there should be no problems for us to be together, moon goddess blessed us, and the rest shouldn't care.' A spark of hope visible in his voice made her want to cry again.

' Okay, Julian, I'm sorry, but I didn't tell you the whole truth, and it is...I'm not just a normal guardian sent down for the job to be done from Lemurias office .'Lily clenched her hands into fists, going quiet for a moment.

' I'm Lilith Crest, firstborn daughter of King Isaia And Queen Evelyn of Avacia. Have you heard anything about what's going on in there at the moment?' She watched him sadly, waiting for any hint to show if he knew anything. A couple of minutes passed. Half-hour. Hour. Still deadly silence.

Then, out of nowhere, he shifted in a millisecond, ripped his side of the car, and ran away. Lilith just sits there, in the only seat that survived, not knowing what to do. Shocked from the last two-hour events, all she wants now is to go somewhere remote where no life exists and just cry. She tried moving but couldn't. It seemed like there's no point in doing anything, frozen like a rock. That's how she feels.

Some time passed, Lily decided to try moving, just to reach her phone.

After a few tries, she succeeded, searched through contacts, and found the one who would understand her. Dialed.

'Elijah,' She said and started to cry uncontrollably.

'Lily, sis, what's going on? Why are you crying?'

'I... I found him..' That's all she was able to blurt out.

'Sis, speak, who did you found?'

'Mate' And started to cry even more.

'Oh, oh crap... W. Why don't we meet, where are you staying? I'll be there in no time so that we can talk things through.'

'O... Okay, I'm staying in Chicago. Look for Ashton Hotel, and ask for Seline at the reception. They'll tell you which room is mine.'

'Good, be there in four hours. See you soon, sis, hold on.' Lilith hung up the phone and started moving out of the broken car, but once she was out, she felt like someone is watching her, looked around and only then noticed two shining eyes looking at her out from the bushes and froze again.

Those brown eyes looked familiar, they started moving closer, what got out of the bushes made her jaw drop, it was a wolf, giant, white wolf, fur shining from the moonlight, looked like every ray of light was dancing on him, moving slowly he stood next to her and nuzzled his snout in her hand asking to be touched. Lily understood straight away and started moving her hand from his nose to head, back. It felt so soft, and the touch made tingling going through all of her body. It seemed to calm both of them a bit, but then, his snout stopped her hand, so she took it back and froze again, not knowing what to do.

As Lily was about to turn around and go, she heard a cracking sound going from a wolf. She just stood there observing what's going on, but before she could blink, it wasn't a wolf standing in front of her. Instead, it was Julian, naked from head to toe. She quickly turned her head to the side, not wanting to disrespect.

She heard him coming closer, felt his finger on her chin, turning it to look at him.

Looking in his eyes, she saw no bad emotions, just pure love, devotion, and a bit of. Fear.?.

'Lilith, I'm not going to reject you, neither will I accept, I'm aware of what's going on in your realm, and I want to risk and be with you for as long as possible, and when the time comes up, I'll make a deal with a witch so she would erase our mate bond and memories or something that we wouldn't know about the existence of each other, it's dark magic, but with a right witch it's possible, what do you think? Please, don't abandon me and say we may go to the witch now. I want to feel the mate bond. I want to be loved and have a chance to love you unconditionally till the moment I can't. 'Julian said with teary eyes cupping Lily's cheek and waiting for a response patiently.

She let out a breath and thought through it all. She still has at least a year, so why not give it all for her only true love? She could come here and live with him for the time that's left and after that, with the witch's help, come back on her duty in wait, which she hates more than anything now.

'O... Okay, I also want to feel happiness at least once in my life before going on my duty as firstborn. So let's give it a try, but, remember, I have no intentions to break your heart, so that witch better has a spell in the end.' She said, a bit more relaxed from the touch on her cheek.

'Yes, my forbidden love, she will. 'he said, now hugging her and resting his chin on her head. Feeling his body so close made her shiver. He felt it because a small chuckle was heard straight after that.

' Julian, as much as I enjoy this moment, we should move, after you left I called my brother, and he'll be at my place soon, you can go with me so we could tell him the plan together, but first, you need some clothes because you are still naked..' She said, blushing while trying not to look at his huge, muscular forms.

Julian laughed and cupped her cheeks, motioning to look into his eyes.

' Sweetheart, you can look at me all you want. I'm all yours,' He said, now smiling at her innocence. Lilith just shook her head and buried her nose in his bare chest. Another laugh could be heard. And a whisper in her ear.

'Lily, if you won't let me go to the car, I will stand here, butt naked, the whole night with you, its not that I wouldn't like it, but you asked, and I brought extra clothes, in case I would shift immediately.' She let go of him, not letting her eyes roam, and turned around so he could walk to the car and get dressed.

' You can turn around now. Okay, where are we heading to? I might need to call someone to come pick us up? 'he said.

' Ashton hotel, but there's no need to call anyone. I can just teleport us.'

'Woah, I had no idea angels can do something like that

'Yes, we all have something special for each of us, and my main ability would be teleportation, so come here and take my hand.'

The moment they were in Lily's room, they heard knocking. She went and let her brother in, engulfing him in a tight hug.

' I'm here is, everything's alright, now, tell me....' He trailed off when he saw a huge man sitting on a chair next to the window.

'Hey... Um. Lily. Who is he?' Elijah asked, looking for any sign of distress on her face saying he shouldn't be here, but found none to his surprise.

'He's my mate, and we have a plan we would like to share with you,' Lily said quietly.

'Oh... U. Okay,' he went next to the sitting guy.

'Hi, my name is Elijah. I'm Lily's brother.' he raised his hand, ready for a handshake.

'Nice to meet you, Elijah. I'm Julian, Lily's mate.'

'Lily, Julian, I would like very much to know what happened, and what's the plan you just said you two wanted to share with me, in details, please.' He says while taking his chair in front of them, sits on it, crosses his arms against his chest, and impatiently waits for answers.

They both explained how they met, what happened, and what they were planning to do after.

Elijah first disagreed with their little plan, but there isn't anything he wouldn't do to make his sister happy, at least for a short amount of time, before she'll just go back to have arranged marriage with Demon King's son.

Two years ago, the contract was signed to continue the peace treaty between Avacia and Hell, and there's no going back. It's either their children's assure alliance through blood or war. Even when Acacia's King directly contacted Lemuria for this matter, they had nothing up their sleeves. The only way was to let their baby girl marry next in line to be Demon king. And so they did, but, as parents, they still hope that their only daughter will find at least a drop of happiness and will forgive them for what they've done.

Before starting with the bit of a happy ending, Elijah and Lily still had to come back home and talk to their parents about Lily staying on earth until the wedding. At first, they didn't want to listen, but after couple more tries, they agreed. Lilith came back, straight to Julian waiting in their studio, which he bought them for privacy, and they began working on the case.

'Okay, pack warriors going to ambush the area at midnight. Their main lair is likely to be this huge warehouse that we weren't even aware existed because it wasn't on the maps.'

'Good, I had the same thought, but could we arrive there first? I would like to see what's going on, so I could mind link my brother, he said he's going to be at Lemuria's office the moment I say, to share the view with them to report a crime and as well show them how it's being solved. 'Lilith explained.

' We can do that, just let me link the pack to inform them not to wait for us, and we can move. 'Julian said while his eyes became cloudy, meaning he's mind linking.

After few minutes, they were ready to go, and so they did.

The closer they came to the warehouse, the louder witches' screams could be heard, and of course, no one could hear it because the area's location is so remote, even by car, it took thirty minutes to reach nearby woods then forty-five more minutes by foot. While at the place, they observed all the rogues guarding the area, and to their surprise, found a window that's off guard. Carefully coming closer to the unguarded space, they peeked through the open window. What they saw made their blood boil.

There must be over four dozen hospital beds, all stacked close to each other and almost all of them occupied with women, IVs connected to their veins sucking the blood out of them into bags, which when filled are changed into new ones immediately, on the right corner of the warehouse there is a vast furnace, next to it two piles of black body bags, first pile empty ones, second with bodies of dead witches.

One of the rogues is standing by the furnace, throwing full bags into the fire.

'Oh, the nerve of these rogues, burning dead witches in front of ones that are still alive, poor women should be going through Hell over there, can't we do anything? .' Lilith said, gritting her teeth, trying to control her rage from the situation.

'I know Lily, but sweetheart, my pack will arrive shortly, and then we attack because if we do it now, there won't be a win, there's around twenty of them and only two of us, just, let's meet them and explain what's going on so we would have a plan and then attack. 'Julian said, trying to push her from the window. With a couple of tries he succeed and they went to meet the arriving pack warriors, explained to them the situation, and got ready to attack.

Surrounding all the building, they broke in, some of the rogues just stood there frozen and confused about how someone found them, others started fighting straight away, but were soon took down without too much of an effort because you can never compare a rogue to a pack warrior, they're being trained since the day they hear of their acceptance into pack defense team.

On the other hand, rogues indeed can do whatever they want, but never they'll be able to get training as brutal and intense as a pack warrior.

While warriors were killing rogues, Julian and Lilith started unplugging IVs when suddenly a commotion appeared.

'What's going on?' Julian asked one of the pack members nearby.

'The one that has been identified as a leader shifted and is trying to escape. What would you like us to do?'

'Captivate him, bring to the castle chambers and keep under supervision at all times.' Answered Julian. 'Will do. There is one more thing, one of the witches wants to talk to you and Lilith.'

'Which one?' Julian asked and received a pointed finger toward the witch's direction. He took Lilith and went to her.

'Hello,' She said while nodding to Lilith and Julian. They nodded back, without any verbal response, she continued.

'I'm grateful for saving us and want to give something in return. So why don't you take this.' She said while pulling out and giving one of her hair strands to them.

Lilith looked at it confused but took it anyway, still not understanding why she gave a hair strand.

' Wrap it on your wrist. 'Witch said, she did and was surprised to see the hair strand become into a beautiful wooden bracelet that had something carved on it in an unknown language. She looked back at the witch with a raised eyebrow in question.

' This bracelet means I owe you. Once you need my help, break it, and I will arrive shortly. There will be no hidden cost, just a sign of gratitude, and, by the way, my name is Rowena.'She smiled at them weakly.

' As well I know of what situation you two are in and...'Rowena trailed off.

' And what?'Julian asked.

' She will bear your child soon, and there is no way of changing it, or there will be consequences. 'Rowena ended.

' What!?! Oh, moon goddess, why are you playing this dangerous game with us. It means that we'll have to. Oh no. No, no no no.. 'Julian murmured while kneeling with hands on his face.

' No, you won't need to do it. I can see tiny bits in the future, and this child is meant to be born. I also will provide you a safe shelter till the time comes, it's not much, but it will be perfect. I use it as my hideout when I need to disappear from time to time. It's remote, a hundred miles from the closest village which is populated entirely with humans, the house has all the necessities, only thing that will need to be done is hunting for meat, but, as Julian here is a werewolf, it won't be a problem 'Rowena explained.

' Now, Julian should go back to his pack and inform his parents that he's going to be gone for around a year, think of any reason you would like, just so they would believe and wouldn't look for you, after everything is done, come by the biggest oak tree in packs territory, I'll be waiting. ' She finished, nodded for both of them, and left the now empty warehouse.

Lilith went back to the studio to pick some clothes, Julian to his pack to inform his parents.

 After a couple more hours, they met within packs territory and headed to the said tree. Rowena was waiting for them as she said, and took them to the same looking tree, except, when they turned around, it wasn't pack grounds, woods were everywhere, and in the middle of trees a small but cozy looking house. Rowena promised to keep an eye on the surroundings and vanished. They went into the house and began their little retreat before coming back to reality...
