Prologue

The book of Lux. A mahogany brown leather encasing fabric pages. Scrolled in an ancient text that only the High Alpha can understand. It depicts what thought to be just stories. Each one speaks of long-lost planets, their inhabitants, and what led to their demise. All forgotten by time, flourishing in their own right, and then suddenly plagued with destruction and decay. One such lore speaks about Athenia. A planet entirely surrounded by water. The opalescent blue is said to seem almost to sparkle in the sun as if to be made of the rarest of gems. Deep below the water's surface is said to be inhabited by beings of the utmost beauty. Besides being beautiful they were also said to be highly intelligent as well. A race of beings far beyond their time; excelling at health care and ingenuity. They even were among the first inhabited planets to develop a written language. But as time went by their intelligence and overly curious nature seemed to turn against them. The constant use of their natural resources to fuel their homes seemed to halt the development of their civilizations. Athenians who were once peace-loving creatures soon turned to violence and desperation. Their bright blue waters turned gray and the planet started to fill with pollution. Within a year the planet's core cooled down and died. Thus resulting in 'The Freeze'; citing their downfall, and the destruction of one of the most serene planets known.
