SPLIT BETWEEN THREE WORLDSUpdated at Jul 10, 2023, 03:07
Split between Three Worlds is a novel set in the modern day in a fictional small town called FiendVille. The town is located in the deepest and most forested part of the state, almost completely cut off the growing civilization. On the surface, it presents itself as any other town around the world, decent, thriving and innocent but on a closer look, you’ll see monstrosities hidden in the shadows. Witches, werewolves and vampires roam around freely and battle for territory and resources making the town seem dark, murderous and abandoned. The town is home to three of the oldest living species in the world, ancient in their conduct and brutal in their demeanor. One might say that the town was caught in between the ancient and the modern existence.
The story revolves around Ethan Blaze, a handsome eighteen year old orphan discharged from a juvenile facility. He isn’t aware of his supernatural identity as a tri-breed but when he learns of it, he becomes a champion for peace between the warring species in his home town. The armistice set to resolve centuries- old conflicts between the species who have never been known to stand each other.
The story begins with the massacre of Ethan Blaze’s family at a young age. With no living close relative to take him in, Ethan is referred to a number of children orphanages until he finally gets sent to a jail-like Juvenile Correctional Facility due to his unruly nature. For three years, Ethan Blaze endures a tough life that almost leads him down the path of depression to the point where he almost opted into committing suicide. He is ultimately released from the facility after attaining the legal adult age of eighteen and without a second thought, proceeds to his home town.
The first days of his stay at his home town in FiendVille are harsh and torturing since everything around seems strange and weird. With no place to live, Ethan is forced to reside in one abandoned building where he meets a cat with an attitude unknowing that it was his familiar. Days later, he acquires a job at a local bar owned by a vampire. There, he learns of all supernatural existence that resided in the town much to his astonishment. He is educated about the witches, the werewolves and the vampires, the three species which never saw eye to eye. They occupied different sections of the town where no member from a different species was allowed to enter.
His hate for werewolves grows immensely when he learns that they were the ones responsible for the massacre of his family. Ethan Blaze turns into a vampire after he gets bitten by one, this change of his events fuels his hatred for the werewolves even more. He was always at the frontline whenever fights between the species erupted making him rise ranks rapidly. Ethan becomes a favorite of the vampire leader much to the annoyance of other older vampires.
An untimely revelation changes things for Ethan as he learns that his father was a werewolf, and not just any werewolf, he was the alpha to the pack. In addition, turns out his own mother was a witch of one of the ancient bloodlines. This puts him at cross-roads with the werewolves and the witches since the information completely changed his identity. Ethan loses sanity when he ascertains that the massacre on his family was a planned occasion. Being labelled an abomination, the leaders of the three species had decided to wipe out my family with fears that one of my siblings would grow stronger disrupting the status quo in the town.
The battle for territory amongst the three species intensifies the very same period he learns of the astonishing information. Being a strong vampire, the vampire leader dots Ethan in expectation of making him the leader in the future. The werewolves on the other hand demand that Ethan battle their best in a ritualistic conquest of becoming the alpha to the pack. This proves a difficult task because the fight involved killing the opponent, the opponent who coincidentally was the father to a girl Ethan loved. With the blood of ancient witches flowing in his veins, Ethan is also required by the coven to take helm of the leadership and is pressured to kill his werewolf and vampire sides. He is thrown in a major dilemma.
As much as Ethan Blaze hated the leaders of the species for plotting against his family, he felt empathy for the human and supernatural lives that were being lost at a rapid rate in the town. Soon, the attention of the national government would be drawn to the town and it wasn’t good news for any species. As much as he wanted revenge for his family, he also wanted peace to reign in the town. In a creative last minute turn of events, Ethan Blaze kills two birds with one stone. He successfully avenges his family and at the same time restoring peace to the troubled town.
