Updated at Aug 18, 2023, 01:21
In a world teetering on the precipice of an ominous prophecy, where the forces of Light and Darkness engage in an eternal struggle, a gripping tale unfolds. "The day shall come," prophesied ancient texts, "when the Light shall plummet into chaos, and men of all races, creeds, and faiths shall be no more." In this tumultuous epoch, unity becomes paramount, as all must rally under one banner, one creed, and one faith. For the looming shadow of the Great Will threatens to engulf everything, heralding the obliteration of the old world and the emergence of a new era. Within this intricately woven narrative, the Kingdom of Athenos emerges as a paragon of stability and optimism, an embodiment of hope amid the tumultuous tides of history. The world watches as Athenos fulfills its sacred duty, maintaining equilibrium and tranquility when other nations spiral toward chaos. As whispers of the fated Last Hour circulate, Athenos stands unwavering, a bulwark against the very notion of apocalypse. Set against the backdrop of the year 837, the saga takes an electrifying turn as the famed Crimson Knights, the pinnacle of Athenos's martial prowess, embark on a mission of paramount importance. Dispatched to the northern border of the venerable city-state of Valencia, they find themselves entangled in the aftermath of a treacherous event. The prime minister of Verile, Wilhelm von Schauss, lies poisoned after a precarious peace treaty in the lands of Carvane. The ramifications are dire, stretching far beyond the borders of diplomacy, as this sinister act unwittingly fans the flames of a fifteen-year conflict between Valencia and Verile. As the intricate web of intrigue unfurls, alliances are tested, secrets resurface, and destinies intertwine. The Crimson Knights, armed with both steel and conviction, navigate a world on the cusp of transformation. The impending judgment, akin to gold refined in the searing crucible of fire, hangs over every soul. The words of the prophecy resonate ever more fervently, reminding all that from the ashes of the old world, a new dawn shall rise—an everlasting realm, shaped by the choices and valor of those who dare to stand against the encroaching darkness.

This story follows Julia, a Class D Swordsman player going by the username xXx_dicks4lyf_xXx in an online VR RPG "Heroes of the Ensemble", a 2066 Game Awards winner for its massive open-world and immersive AI. A fairly moderate-ranking player in the game, she one day realized that she is going nowhere in the game and in order to bring her character to the next level she decides to join a guild so she can have the perks...and the bragging rights! She applied to many guilds, but none of the guilds wanted to accept her because of her level and rank. But then, one day, one of the guilds she applied membership for - the Antonites - responded to her message. The guildmaster said she can join their guild, but on condition that she complete the quest "Unrequited", one of the longest and perhaps the hardest quests in the game, with a total average completion playtime of almost 80 hours. Seeing this one in a million opportunity, she sets out to a village called Argos to find an NPC named "Josen Toshiro" and sets out on their journey on the longest quest that she will embark on her life.

After the events of Dr. Jose Rizal's second novel "El Filibusterismo" the story follows the tale of the former students Basilio and Isagani in the aftermath of the failed assassination plot against the most powerful governing political figures in the Delos Santos residence. Now a licensed doctor and a tenured businessman, Basilio and Isagani returns to the Philippines after their 10-year venture in Spain and in the United States to spearhead a large-scale project for the Spanish crown. For the first time in the history of the country, the Spanish government has allowed Indios to pioneer major public works, and the Filipinos, seeing this as major milestone of their race, welcomed it cheering and with open arms. It was also during that same year when the new Captain-General was appointed to the Philippines following the scandal involving the outgoing Captain-General, who sent an entire battalion of Indio conscripts to be deliberately slaughtered by a gang of tulisanes led by a man going by the name 'Matanglawin' (Falcon-eye). Leonardo Montes, the incoming Captain-General, was both feared and loved by his subjects. A close friend of the king and reputed for upholding honor, discipline and goodwill among his subjects, he won the confidence of the Cortes and of the Filipino people when political unrest arose during the tenure of his predecessor when he represented the Philippines in the high courts and won the case. However, Montes, now at the early days of his tenure, is faced with a huge and pressing problem: the widespread opium trade in the Philippines. Chinese immigration to the Philippines has increased at an exponential rate since his predecessor came to power and so is the circulation of the substance within the country. And to make matters worse, strange cases
