Reva came out of her class after the lecture on civil rights. It’s rainy outside and she took the umbrella out from her bag and her buzzing phone. She annoyed when it’s kept ringing during her lecture so she threw it in her bag. But when she saw it’s from her grandfather, she had a panic attack. What the hell! Ten missed calls. Seriously, grandpa has lost his mind! She rolled her eyes and called him back. “Grandpa,” she worriedly asked. “Hello, Miss. Charles your grandpa is taken to the ICU and we need your assistance here,” Said a female voice. “What? When?” Her eyes grew wider in shock. “This afternoon. Please come fast,” she told and Reva immediately hung up the call. She came out of her university and taking her car from the parking lot she drove to the hospital which is just ten minutes to reach from there. “Hello, my name is Reva and I got a call about my grandpa, Mr. Charles,” she said in haste. “Please calm down, Ma’am. He’s on the first floor ICU,” she replied. Before she could finish Reva started running to the elevator. She impatiently waited for the door to open, but it didn’t so she took the stairs and reached the ICU. Reva saw her grandfather through the glass shield and felt gloomy. She never cried for anything after her parent’s death, but now she feels like crying. Her grandfather was the only blood relation she has. He took care of her with all the love and care after her mom and dad in a plane crash. When she was sadly looking at him, a man in his late fifties came to her. “Reva, what happened to sir?” Mr. Jones asked her worriedly. “I don’t know Uncle; I came here just now,” she replied sadly. “Don’t worry; sir will be alright,” he encouraged her and she smiled nodding her head. Her grandfather was a multi-millionaire when she was a kid. But after losing his son and daughter-in-law he quits all his business and handed the shares to Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones is a former employee but he’s a good friend and well-wisher to their family. After buying the shares he expanded the business all over the world. And now it has a net worth of 100 billion dollars. But he’s always grateful for his former boss who taught him and encouraged him throughout his career. When they were anxiously waiting, the doctor came out after the surgery. Dr. Kevin is a young surgeon; he was more like a friend to Reva. She became close to him while visiting his grandfather since he admitted to the hospital six months back. To actually say, Reva is slightly attracted to his witty nature but it’s all a beginning, she didn’t take it to the next level. “What happened, Kevin?” “He had a cardiac arrest and we operated him. Now there’s no need to worry. He will open his eyes in an hour,” he told to Reva and made them happy with the news “Thank you so much for your help,” she smiled. “Don’t mention, Reva. It’s my duty. Take care of your grandpa,” he told and went away. Reva turned her attention to Mr. Jones. “Sorry Uncle, they must’ve called you because I didn’t attend their phone call and I was in the important lecture,” she told. “It’s fine, I am glad that they called me,” he replied. “If you want, you can leave Uncle. I will look after him,” Reva said. “No I’ll wait until sir opens his eyes,” She knew he would say this. “Come, let’s grab some coffee,” he welcomed her and she went with him. They got a hot coffee in the cafeteria and sat on the bench. Looking at the rain Reva sipped her coffee. “How're your studies?” he asked. “It’s kind of hectic these days and I am managing it with my best level,” she smiled. “I can’t wait to see you as a lawyer,” he said and Reva shrugged thinking there’s still a solid year left for that yo happen. Mr. Jones has retired years before and his son Victor Jones was looking after the business. After he became CEO he has taken their company to the next level and has done revolution in the business community. Nobody expected this much growth and hard work from him. Apart from his witty nature, he’s good looking too. Like a Greek god type. Six feet tall, piercing blue eyes, sculpted jawlines, and with a magnificent physique. He’s a dream guy. But he avoids being in the limelight and upheld a low profile. Reva never met him in person but she has seen him on TV and on the news. He’s looked quite handsome to her eyes. “Where are you staying now, Reva,” Mr. Jones questioned. “In my apartment, near the university. But once grandpa was discharged I’ll be moving back to our mansion with him.” She answered. “Oh, that’s great,” he told and they both chatted for some time. When they went back to ICU, Mr. Charles came back to his consciousness. Reva went to see her grandpa. She held his hand and smiled looking at him. “I was so worried about you,” she had tears. “I won’t die until I see my great-grandchildren,” he replied. Reva smiled to see the funny side of her grandpa even at this death bed. He saw Mr. Jones standing beside her. “Jon, I was waiting to see you. I need to talk with you. Reva can you wait outside,” he asked. She excused and headed out wondering what they were going to talk about. In the ICU, "Jon,I don't think I will survive for the next attack." his uneven breathing blured his speach. "Don't lose hope, Sir. Like you said you need to see Reva's wedding," she told. "I just told that to make her smile," he sighed. "Sir I am having something in my mind but I don't know whether you will accept for this." "I know, Jon. I was going to ask you the same thing," he nodded. "It's about your son's wedding right?" "Not only my son's wedding. It's also about Reva," he replied. "I don't know whether she will accept for this Jon." Mr. Charles wavered. "If you ask her she will surely accept and convincing my son is my duty," he told strongly. Mr. Charles nodded his head and thought what Jon has proposed is the best thing for Reva. "Take care of your health Sir, tomorrow I'll ask my son to meet Reva," he said and walked out of the ICU. "I am leaving, Reva. Tomorrow my son will be here," he confused her and left the place. She went inside to see grandpa and sat beside him. "Reva, will you do anything I say," he asked. "Yes, grandpa; I will do it," she nodded in assurance. "Will you marry Jon's son Victor," he asked. "What?" "What?" Victor exclaimed. "Victor, just listen to me. I want you to make a family. And Reva is a perfect match for you. She is intelligent and can look after this family." "Stop dating those sluts and marry this wonderful girl." He advised. Victor sighed and kept working on his computer. "Are you listening to what I am saying?" He asked. "Yeah, yeah," he told. "For your Dad, just do this one thing, Victor," he pleaded. “Okay,” he annoyed. “Tomorrow you should go to the hospital and have to meet Mr. Charles and Reva,” he said. “Fine,” Victor sighed. With a relaxed expression, he went out of his cabin. Victor’s lips curled in a smirk, “this is going to be fun,” he muttered watching his computer screen.
