Airic Denault had married who he thought was the love of his life, and had happily taken care of her every need and want since he had said I do 6 years before. He had even given her the money she needed to begin building her Empire, using only part of his vast inheritance to do so. In that time she had become immensely successful, always taking his advice when it came to the contracts she accepted. He had saved her from several pitfalls during their time together, and had made it appear she was even better than she was. What he didn't realize is she had finally began listening to her family, who had no idea who he truly was as he had never even told her. So when she decided to dump him like trash, he decided she needed to relearn exactly who he was when they met. Dusting off his own skills, Airic knew that it was going to take every bit of his skill to prevent the enemies of her family from destroying what she had built. Would she learn a lesson that she was almost nothing without him? Or would she go to far in her effort to prove she was capable, and make him the eye of the storm that would destroy everything she held dear.

Seperation
Airic Denault walked to his wife's office with her lunch as he had done every day for the last 6 years. He had helped her build this company, his 10 million credit investment, and his advice over the years helping her expand it into a billion credit company in just 5 years. In another 5 years, she would likely be running one of the most powerful Empires in all of Boston. As he rounded the last corner however, he saw a sight he never would have believed possible. Monica Denault was standing in front of the building, next tona very expensive car and a man Airic would recognize anywhere. She kissed him passionately before she got into the car, and Jacob Masters walked around the front of the car before it pulled away. Airic was heartbroken as he walked over to the bench in front of the building, knowing there was far more than what he had seen happening here. He knew she was negotiating a new contract with his family, wondering what exactly what it was exactly they were negotiating. He was pulled from his stupor when his phone rang, and it had only been half an hour when he answered the call from a restricted number. "Hello?" he asked after putting the phone to his ear. "Master Denault, this is Maverick Falkner, attorney for the Denault Family. Do you have time to talk for a few minutes?" he asked formally. "What do you want Mr. Falkner?" Airic asked keeping his voice level. "My father made it clear I was not welcome in his presence." He heard the silence for a few moments, before the man cleared his throat. "I regret I am the one to inform you, that your father passed away early this morning. His will is bery clear that you are to be the sole heir to his empire." Mr. Falkner replied making Airic's blood run cold as something began formulating in his mind. "I am at the Drummond Building, can you have a car here to wait for me in say, an hour?" Airic asked as he looked at his watch. "Certainly Master Denault, it will be at your disposal until dinner tonight at the Savoy at say 7?" "Thank you Mr. Falkner, I appreciate the call." Airic said before he hung up the phone and smiled since he had seen what his wife was planning. 45 minutes later she returned, and sneered as she saw him sitting there waiting for her. "Why are you here?" she demanded disdainfully as Jacob Masters got out of the car and walked around it. "I brought your lunch like I normally do, and found some disturbing information when I watched my wife kissing another man. Do you think I should tolerate you being unfaithful to me?" he demanded of her making Jacob scoff. "Why should she fear what a lowlife like you could accomplish? She is so much better than you now, that to get anywhere she has to leave the trash at the side of the road." Jacob sneered at him as Monica pulled out a folder. "You will find these more than fair." she said handing him the divorce papers. "So this is how it is to be?" he asked and she nodded. "Keep your trash, all I want is my mothers ring back." he told her handing her the papers back. "Give me that, and this pile of garbage shall be yours without so much as a fight." Monica was amazed, as she had offered him over 100 million to leave her to forge her new empire. The ring he had given her was valuable, but was only worth 100,000. She slid it off her finger, and handed it to him as he took the papers. "I will have these redrawn to match our agreement, and delivered to you this evening. Last piece of advice will be to sign them, otherwise I will ensure I get every cent that I am entitled to, seeing how you got your start." he said as he left the bag with the food there when an extremely expensive luxury sedan pulled up behind his slick sports car. Both of them were surprised when Airic walked over to it and got in. He pulled out the phone, and called the number on it that would get him in touch with his own attorney. "McDaltry Law, how can I help you?" the receptionist asked. "Robert McKnight please, let him know Airic Denault is in need of his services." he said. "One moment please." she replied before he heard hold music and thence began driving as the driver had searched the address. "Airic, what can I do for you?" he asked. "I need a divorce. I will be there in about twenty minutes, and have her copy of the paperwork. We will only need to adjust the settlement and return the papers for her signature." Airic explained as the car drove. "We will need to add the premarital assets you have as well, despite her having no claim to them. What kind of settlement for the company is she offering?" he asked as he took notes. "Do whatever is needed, and none. The only thing I am taking from her is my mothers ring. This will likely be handled tonight." 4 hours later a messenger walked into Monica's office, and handed her the exact same folder Airic had taken from her a few hours before. Jacob smiled as he saw it, however it only lasted a moment before he saw it was nearly twice as thick. "You can go now." Monica said as she took it from the messenger and opened it. "No ma'am, I have instructions I am to wait for you to review and sign those before I return them to Mr. Denault." he said as he stood there. Monica sighed as she pulled the papers out, and the majority of the agreement had remained exactly as her attorneys had drawn it up. Anything they bought during the marriage was given to her, and anything that had his name as a debt had already been paid off according to the copies of checks that accompanied the documents. It was 25 million credits, and she knew it would be impossible for him to do this. But the paperwork was clear, and the checks were certified as having the funds secured, from one of the biggest corporate banks there was in the entire Nation. The property list showed everything they got as being hers, and she was confused as to what the next attachment was. She had forgotten his family was rich, although he had been cut off when they got married. She had never even met her in laws, and remembered that no matter what happened they would be prosperous. The list of assets he still had from before than was extensive, and as she went through it she remembered long forgotten conversations about how his skills would be useful, even if he had been black listed by his family. He had used the last of his liquid assets so she could start her company, and she remembered all the times that he had saved her from making costly mistakes when she first began. Jacob was beside himself, as the list of assets meant the man would still leave him extremely wealthy. Not anywhere near the level he was, but no one had known that the husband behind the most successful Business Woman in Boston was secretly sitting on this kind of wealth. Monica sighed as she got tonthe last page, and a short note from Airic caught her attention. Too late to remember exactly who was behind your success. Sign it or I will take everything as Ingave it ALL to you. She took her pen, flipped the note over and penned her reply before she signed it and handed it tonthe messenger. The messenger signed as the witness, placed the papers back into the envelope, and left without saying a word. "Where did he get those kind of assets?" Jacob asked her as his head was still reeling. "Does it matter? What's done is done." she said as she poured herself a large glass of scotch and downed it in one gulp.
