Her mate

Chapter 3: Delicious smell

    "Julia! are you ready now?" 

    "Yeah! I'm coming!" I run down the stairs and out the door. There she stands beside the car. I walk over to the car and sits in the front. "This is going to be so much fun!"

When we arrive at the mall the first thing we do is go to the book shop!

    "I want to look at some books if that's fine with you!" i said looking at my mom. 

    "Of course, i'm just going to sit over there at the cafe and take a kaffe if that is fine with you." I walk over to the fiction section and look through what they have. I own many of the books already but there is a few that looks interesting. I pick ut a book called The final empire and are just about to start reading at the back of the book when i smell the most delicious smell. It's like cinnamon rolls and vanilla. I just stand there smelling that amazing smell when it gets stronger and stronger. Suddenly there is a group of guys walking by. Is there a rule that says that hot guys always have to travle in packs? I see them get closer so i hide further behind the bookshelf. 

    "I swear she has to be around here somewhere!" A deep voice sound, it sound frustrated. 

    "Sure dude, are you sure you're not just imagining things, you've been looking since you were 15. It's been three years, maybe it's just you hoping it's her." Another voice sound, this one also sound a bit frustrated but not nearly as much as the first voice. 

    "I'm telling you, i'm not imagining anything! She is here." That is the last thing i hear before I hurry out of the store and over to where my mother is sitting.

    "Hey! I didn't find any books that looked interesting. How do you feel about looking at some clothes?"

The rest of the day my mom and I had a blast! We bought a lot of clothes. I got 4 new outfits that i couldn't wait to wear! One of them is perfect for the first day of school! After we get home, i put everything away and go down to the gym for a good workout. 

Another week pass without anything to exciting happening. I went down to the gym a lot, other than that my mom and i watched a lot of movies, i played come COD, actually that i kind of funny. 

In my room i have put up a sofa and a big tv with all my gaming equipment plugged in. I logged in one day on live game and started playing against three duds, i think, the guy on my team was really bad and died almost right away, but still I kicked balls and we won! I never tell anyone that I'm a girl when playing cause they always either say they went easy on me or start to flirt and it's really annoying. That's why my name is so neutral, it's just Gamer_99.

Anyways, I'm in my room before my mirror wearing my first day at school outfit we bought at the mall. It's just som really cute ripped jeans, a basic cropped spagetti straps top, a cozy oversized cardigan and my favorite sneakers. Cute and comfortable. I look at the clock and it's already 6 a.m, i only have an hour before school starts and I have to be there at least 20 minutes earlier so i can find the office and get my schedule and actually find the right classroom. I walk down stairs and see my mom in the kitchen

    "Hey mom! I was just wondering how far away the school is, like how much time do i need to get there." I asked. I know where the school, cause my mom and I drove past it a few days ago, but we did a lot of other things between the time we were at the school and we got home, so I'm not a 100% sure how long it will take me to drive there. 

    "Mmm, about 10 minutes i would say, and since you are suppose to be there 20 minutes early i would get started on my breakfast because you only have half an hour before you have to be out of that door." I agree and start making som egg and bacon for breakfast, it's one of my favorites. After eating i realize that i only have about 5 minutes to brush my teeth and get my backpack and get out of the house. On record time I'm on my bike driving towards the school. 

My mom was right it took me 10 minutes to get to school. I walk inside the front door and start looking for the office. After getting my schedule I leave the office just to be hit by that amazing smell again, I don't think i could ever get tired of cinnamon rolls and vanilla. Something inside me stirres but I'm not sure what. Suddenly i hit something hard, did i just hit the wall or something? I loose my balance and start falling but before i hit the ground someone grabs my arms and pulls my up. When i look up I am met by the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. They are such a dark blue that they reminds you of the sea on a stormy night. They were breathtaking. 

    "Hey, sorry for bumping in to you, I really didn't mean to. I'm John." The most angelic sound escapes his lips and I'm captivated by it. 

    "Hi" I continue looking at him, when he breaks out in the most beautiful smile. 

    "Would you mind telling me your name?" the angelic voice says again, then i realize that I've heard that voice before. It's the same voice that was at the book shop. He is the guy that is looking for a girl. A girl that is not me. My mood suddenly gets a lot more sour. 

    "It's Julia. Thank you for saving me but i really need to get to class. Sorry for bumping in to you" I say as I get out of his arms and start walking towards my first class, advanced math. I love math so this is going to be fun.

John's p.o.v

    "Dad, I've been looking, but i just can't find her." I stand i my dads office. He's been really on edge urging me to find my mate, the only reason is because he is tired of being alpha and just want to retire and go on a long holiday with my mom, the luna. But for that to happen i need to find my mate. Most wolves awake at the age between 16 and 18, mine woke when i was 15. When a wolf wake, they become like your conscious, they talk to you and sometimes they can be a pain in the ass. My wolf has longed for his mate for as long as i can remember. A mate is like a soul mate gifted to you by the moon goddess, she is you perfect other half, the person you are ment to be with for the rest of your life. "It's not like i don't want to find her. You know how Brian, my wolf is. He's been acing for his mate for the last three years. I've gone to all the mating balls, I've looked but i just can't find her anywhere."

    "I know son, just continue trying" I nod my head and know that I've been dismissed. Walking out of the office i run in to my best friend and future beta of the pack, August. 

    "Hey dude, me and some guys are going to the mal just to hang, want to joine?" He askes. I could really use to get out of the house and think about other things than all my alpha in training duties and my mate. 

    "Yeah, sure thing dude. I could really use some time away from this house" 

Walking beside each other we make our way to the garage and find my gamma, Jason, and some pack warriors waiting by one of the cars. Looking at me they all smile and get into the car. The drive to the mal is uneventfull, we just listened to some music and talked about nothing important. We get out of the car and head towards the mall when i start smelling something amazing, lilies and lavendel. 

    Our mate is here! Get your head out of your ass and find her!  Brian says inside my head. 

    "August! She is here." I say as I walk faster towards the mall. 

    "Are you serious? Ok, let's hurry and find her." We walk as fast as we can without running. The smell i getting stronger when we enter a book shop. 

    "She has to be in here, but i can't see anyone anywhere." I visper "I swear she has to be around here somewhere!" I say to August

    "Sure dude, are you sure you're not just imagining things, you've been looking since you were 15. It's been three years, maybe it's just you hoping it's her." August answers, a growl escape me, before i could think about it. 

    "I'm telling you, i'm not imagining anything! She is here." The smell is getting weaker. "The smell i getting weaker, she is moving." I start looking around but there is no one there. I walk over to the owner and askes him "Hey, was there by any chance a girl in this shop recently?"

    He nods his head and answers "There was a girl actually that just left."

    "s**t dude, maybe she really was here" August says, looking around.

    "That's what I said, but the smell is gone." How is that possible? I'm one of the best tracker in the pack. How could her smell just disappear?

    You i***t! How could you loose our mate! I WANT MY MATE!  Bruce says in my head

    I know! I want her too! I say back to him then shove him to the back of my mind

     "I don't get how it's just gone, I need to find her." I say to August. "How could she just disappear? You know what I don't feel like henging out anymore, is it ok with you if i just go back to the packhouse?" I ask, knowing full well that he doesn't have anything to say about it, because I'm higher rank than he is. 

    "Nah, dude. Want me to drive you back home?" He offers

    "No, I think i want to run home, Bruce is really mad at me right now and I think a run would do us both some good. With that i walk out of the mall and in to the woods where I change into Bruce. We run and run til we come to a small lake. I walk over to the lake and see my reflection. Staring back at me is a large brown wolf, I am larger that most wolf because I'm an alpha. After taking a sip I continue running back home. 

Back home i go straight to my father office. "Dad! I found her!" My dad looks up at me with a shocked expression. 

    "Really, when can i meat her? Who is she? What pack is she from?" I look down too ashamed to look at him. 

    "I don't know who she is. I was at the mall with my friends when i smelled her. It was the most amazing smell, like lilies and lavendel. But before i could find her the smell disappeared. I don't know how it could just disappear." He looks at me with a puzzeled look. 

    "You know, there are some wolves, sure enough a really strong wolf that has spesial abilities such as masking their sent. But they are really rare. There was one 17 years ago that could control water, you know the previous alpha?" He says

    "Yeah, so you think my mate is a really strong wolf then?" I asks getting my hopes up. But why would she want to run away from me? Didn't she want a mate? Or didn't she want me as a mate? I hear Bruce whine in the back of my mind, crying out for his mate.

The next day I'm in a foul mood, nothing is going well. I end up playing some COD with August and Jason. We play against someone named Gamer_99. It's me and August against Jason and Gamer_99. Jason die straight away, but still August and i loose. This dude is really good to say the least. 

    "Hah! We won!" Jason shouts raising his hands above his head doing a victory dance.

    "Oh, shut it Jason. You died after just 5 minutes. Gamer_99 is the one that won." August says sounding a little annoyed. 

    "What ever dude! My team won!" We didn't play anything more after that. 

A week went past and school is starting. My foul mood hasn't improved, and everyone is really on edge. I'm starting my senior year and should be really excited, but the thought of my mate not wanting me is more than i can handle. I don't even want to go to school today. 

    "Seriously! Come of it! This is starting to become annoying! Get ready we leave in 20 minutes." August says walking away from my moping self. Well there is no time as the present to get over my mate. 20 minutes later we are all in the car on our way to school. Normally I'm the one driving but today i don't feel like it. We get to school in under 15 minutes and i start walking not knowing where I'm going. I hear shouting behind me but I ignore them. Just walking with no goal I suddenly bump into something really small, at least compared to my 6'2. I grab her to prevent her from hitting the ground. Then the intoxicating smell hit my nose, the smell of lilies and lavendel, the smell of my mate. I look down and there she is. She is the most beautiful being I've ever lain eyes on. With her big green eyes, and long brown hair. She is just breathtaking.

    Seriously dude! Say something! Bruce growls in my head.

    "Hey, sorry for bumping in to you, I really didn't mean to. I'm John." 

    Because that didn't sound stupid at all, seriously John this is our mate! Try being a bit more charming or something. Bruce continued

    Bruce shut up! I shout at my wolf shoving me to the back of my mind. He could seriously be a pain in the ass sometimes

    "Hi" She says looking all innosent and all. Just that small hi make Bruce purr. 

    Mate has an amazing voice. Can we mark her? Bruce askes with the most puppyloved voice i've ever heard. 

    No, we cant!  I answers back, getting a bit annoyed.

    Well at least find out her name! He sounds a bit annoyed too now. 

    "Would you mind telling me your name?" I aske her. Suddenly her mood change, but why? 

    "It's Julia. Thank you for saving me but i really need to get to class. Sorry for bumping in to you" She says in a dimissiv tone, than get out of my arms and start walking away from me. What did i do wrong?
