Blue Eyed Haze (Lindsey’s POV)

890 Words
Standing outside of Jake Matthews house party, I’m pretty sure I’m going to vomit all over my shoes. I’m trying so hard to keep it together and take deep breaths all the while thinking we should just go back home and binge Vampire Diaries with a gallon of ice cream. One look at Aria and I know that’s not going to happen.       “Heck no Lindsey Andrews! I can see by the look on your face that you’re trying to bail and we aren’t even through the door yet! Remember you have a heel on and I’m in sneakers. I will track your butt down! It’s just a party stop worrying about the rest of it!”     “I’m trying Aria! I don’t even know why I’m so nervous, I’ve been to Jake’s parties a dozen times since freshman year. This is all your fault!” I shout.     “Excuse me?! My fault? You’re right, I’m totally wrong for making you look gorgeous and picking jeans that makes your ass look great!” She laughs.    “It’s because of all that talk about Logan! Now my guts are in my throat and I’m freaking out! What if we did all of this and he doesn’t even notice me again!” I whine.     “Linds, babe you look amazing, you are amazing, and if that knob is too stupid to see it then we have all night to find other boys to flirt with!” Aria exclaims.    I take two more deep breaths and stand up straight. Aria is right, and i need to stop doubting myself. One persons “imagined” opinion of me is not going to change anything about me. I love who I am, and her saying that makes me hug her to me catching her off guard.      “There’s my best friend, come on girl. Let’s go shake our booties and show these kids senior year is ours!” Aria shouts.       I’m in the middle of giggling and start to turn around when someone brushes into my shoulder and making me wobble on my baby heel of the booties I’m wearing. Reaching out to steady myself my fingers come into contact with a bare tanned forearm. Dragging my eyes up the boys black t shirt that’s sticking to his chest and arms like a second skin, I come face to face with the most gorgeous boy I have ever seen. He certainly does not go to Grove High, I would of remembered him with his shaggy black hair, blue eyes that are a tinge lighter on the inside ring, and a jawline meant to cut through steel. I must be standing here gawking at him too long, because I see his mouth uptick into a grin.       “It’s just a pretty face sweetheart. No need to look like you’re about to eat me for a snack.” Blue eyes chuckles to his friend behind him, who I never even noticed was standing there. His comment throws me off guard and now it’s too bad he’s so good looking because he’s clearly just plain rude.      “I wasn’t staring! You just scared me when you ran into me! Don’t be so into yourself blue eyes!” I glare at him.     “Blue eyes huh?” He smirks again and I feel my cheeks blush. Get it together Linds, or stomp on his new white sneakers and run away! I must be insane tonight because I literally giggle out loud at the idea of doing that. His eyebrows stretch up at the sound of my giggle and then he smirks again.        “Listen, Green Eyes, while staring at you has been the best part of my day so far, i would like to go inside and see what else I can get into tonight.”      I glare at him and say, “don’t let me stop you!”      He chuckles to himself and lifts his arm which my fingers are still wrapped around, pointedly looking at them, smiling the entire time. My face blushes crimson and I jerk my fingers away from his arm.      “See you around Green Eyes.” He throws over his shoulder as his friend and him shuffle in through the front door.       “What the heck just happened?! Linds that boy is so fine and he couldn’t take his eyes off of you! Who is he? Oh my gosh I am totally freaking out! This party is going to be so fun!” Aria rambles at me.       “Aria he was so rude! Don’t be getting any ideas! Who was he anyway?” I ask.       “I’m not sure, but his friends name is John. He’s a senior, I recognize him from the wrestling team. We cheer their meets sometimes.” She gives me a shoulder shrug. I don’t cheer during the winter sports due to playing basketball, so during the fall I just cheer for the football team, none of my friends are wrestlers so I’m not surprised I didn’t recognize him.       “Lets just forget about them and go get some of that crappy vodka punch Jake makes for every party he has.” She giggles.      “Ugh it really is awful isn’t it?” I laugh with her.        “Yes girl! But beggars can’t be choosers. We should just be lucky his parents are never home and his brother will buy alcohol for him! Let’s go get a drink and shake our tail feathers!” Aria laughs and drags me through the door behind her.
