(also trigger warning self-harm) She sit on the grass in a meadow, crying,” I wish Dad was here, he could stop all of this from ever happening” Tears roll down her cheek and a voice comes from the distance She sat up slowly and stayed silent. She wiped her tears and lay down again, thinking it was no one at all. She turned over and she grab her book bag and she grabbed her notepad,” maybe I can’t talk about my feeling, but I’ll try to write them down,” She says silently while tapping her pen on her notepad. “Paige!!” our  mother calls from afar. “Yeah, yeah I’m coming….” She stood up, putting her stuff away in her book bag and she hears a voice again. “Paige...what a pretty name,” A man says about five feet behind her. She panics and runs home, She ran up to the attic and she locked the door. “Paige! Please come down here!” Our mother yells for her over and over again. “I’m not coming down there if that boy is still here!” She yelled back at mom. “Paige Anne Smith, you get down here right now!”  mom yell for the last time. “No! Just leave me alone!” She yelled back. “There’s someone here to meet you,” mom says in a serious tone. “Ok…” She said back, she put her books down and she went down the stairs. “Hello there, Paige” A man who looks the same age as Paige smiles and reaches his hand out for her to grab. She blushed slightly and grabbed his warm hand,” This young man says he is a friend of yours”  mom interrupts them both. “Think of a lie, think of a lie, think of a lie!” She say loudly in mind. “Yes, he is, I promised him that after my reading hour I would take a stroll with him and go to the shop for groceries!” She said back smiling,” Well, I’ll see you later, bye!”  pushes the man out the door, slamming it behind them. “O-ok, well that was awkward,” The man said smiling. “Yeah, sorry about that, my mother is not the nicest,” She says turning away “I’m Alex if you wanted to know.” Alex turns her face towards him. “Well, you already know my name” She replies, blushing super hard. “Is my little princess blushing?” Alex says with a smirk on his face “N-no!” She turned away blushing even more. He chuckled and rubbed her head. He takes her to a meadow and they sit down,” it feels good to get away doesn’t it” Alex smiles at her. “Yeah, it does.” She smiled brightly and Alex blushes slightly. “R-right?” Alex stutters a bit and lays down. She hummed to the melody she heard from the town. “Why are you humming? I don’t hear any music.” Alex says, kind of confused. “Shh… Just close your eyes and listen… You’ll see.” she silences Alex. He closes his eyes and hears the melody coming from the town. He then opens an eye and sees her crying,” why are you crying but smiling?” “It’s not proper for a lady to cry in front of a gentleman,” she whispered,” We’re better off not showing our sadness, it’s better to always stay happy” she forced another smile onto her face. “Princess, please don’t force a smile onto that beautiful face of yours” Alex wipes my tears and smiles,” you’re too pretty to have no emotions, you don’t have to show them to anyone else but I’d like to be the one you show them to.” “I promise you that I will only show my real emotions to you” she smiled and start to head home,” I’ve got to go, I’ll see you soon, I promise”  she left. She went inside her house, feeling butterflies in her stomach but my smile drops quickly at the image in front of her. She frowned and turned away slowly, not wanting to deal with this drama at this time. “Paige, please come back to your future husband.” mother says so calmly. “I’m not going to be forced into a marriage by a man I don’t love!” She storm off into my room and she slammed the door. “I’m so sorry about that young man, let me go talk to her” mother stands up and calmly goes to her door and knocks,” Please, Paige, let me in” “No. you’ve done enough, now leave please,” she said crying, in her mind, she says,” I wish I didn’t have an abusive mother” “Knock knock,” Alex says from outside her window. Paige stood up and went to the window, she opened it,” how did you get here!?” she started to ramble. “Princess, calm down, I just followed your footsteps I saw in the mud” Alex smiles. “Oh, well then get up here you dork!” she smiled. A distant voice calls out for her,” Paige…. Paige” I snapped back into reality,” Paige!” Alex hugs Paige. “Hey, my love” she hugged back and looked at her wedding ring. “What on earth we’re you thinking of, you’ve been staring off into space for three hours!” Alex looks worried. “Sorry, I was just having a flashback to when we first met.” She smiled. Alex blushes,” Wow, I can’t believe you still remember.” “I wouldn’t forget it” She smiled then frowned. “What’s wrong my love?” Alex looks worried. “I need to visit the cemetery again” She grabbed her flowers and her coat she silently left. Alex decides to follow her, wondering why she was going there in the first place. She sat by our father’s  grave and started to cry, she put the flowers down,” Hey Dad, it’s me, your little Paige.” She smiled and cried a lot. “I miss you, daddy, I miss you so much, I wish you were here to meet my husband Alex, I think you would like him.” She cried more. ”I also sleep in one of your shirts to remind me of you, I try not to be sad but it hurts.” She wipe her tears and she left. Alex was standing there quietly crying and he left with her,” Hun, why didn’t you tell me your father was dead?” “Because… It was just too sad to bring up” She wiped her tears and hung up her coat. “Oh darling, I’m so sorry” Alex frowns. “It is ok I just need some time alone” She goes into the room and she locks the door. After five hours “She’s been in there a long time” Alex knocks on the door,” Honey I was hoping we could sleep early” He opens the door to see her holding a blade to her leg. ”What’s this..?” “Stupidity at it’s finest??” She smiled a bit awkwardly. “Why….” Alex had a look of dead seriousness. “I-I can explain!” she started to cry. “Shh, baby I’m not mad.” tears stream down his face. “I-I ran out of room” she realized what she just said and she covers her mouth. “What do you mean you ‘ran out of room’” Alex sternly asks her. ”Babe, show me your arms…” “N-No!” She started to run and Alex roughly grabbed her arm “Ouch!” It goes silent Alex pulls up her sleeves and looks shocked” Ok, just let me heal you” "O-Ok..” She sat down.  A few hours of silence passes and Alex heals her arm “Explain,” Alex says so seriously “Well…it begins with my sister...” She awkwardly looked away AND WE’LL STOP THERE!
