Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Having no idea what would be the most good and best reason why I want to have his attention, I try hitting Albert with the pink particles that cling to me like a duvet when I'm on bed and cold. Albert does his best to ignore me, and pays no attention to me  He acts like I'm nothing, and whenever his eyes would meet mine, he would immediately look away as if I have a virus than can be transferred through eye contact. Though I know somehow that I have offended him because of my comment earlier, I think that he's using that against me. I don't like the feeling of being ignored or worst, hated. It feels like I have done something terrible in my life that affected everyone, and it would give me a heavy feeling in my chest and I would frantically search for ways to take the burden off of me. "What are you doing?" A voice asks behind me as I swirl another pink particles in my index finger, readying to point it at Albert's direction. Looking behind me over my shoulder to find Dylan trying to peak his eyes at my fingers, I give him a smile and jerk my chin towards Albert's direction, who is still paying me no attention. Dylan looks at Albert, his hair falling in between his eyes and he pushes it away with his hand. "You got a problem with him?" Shaking my head, a smile graces my lips again as a couple of pink dust hits Albert's back, and he looks at me over his shoulder with a scowl. Gotcha. "Nah, I'm just playing with him. I think he got mad at me because of my comment earlier. My bad." Dylan nods, putting a finger on his chin as he looks at me. "What was the comment, though?" Dylan's curiosity side is coming out, but as soon as he realizes that I'm not going to say anything, he drops the subject off. I don't really want to get things awkward between us. He's still my friend, and I'm still my friend, and one not unrequited feeling is not going to ruin our friendship. "So how are you doing?" This is his attempt to make a conversation with me. I was just trying to go not near him because of my feelings for him, and I feel that if I stick more around with him, then the feelings I have for him would go deeper, which I don't want to happen. Because let's face it, in this kind of battle, I have lost a long time ago, even before it started. Unfortunately, I cannot control what I feel. I cannot just un-love him, if that's even a word at all. It would take a lot of time. Perhaps Dylan would still have a place in my heart, but eventually, he'd be replaced. If I push in my head that he will be no longer mine. "I'm just okay. Doing fine and good." My answer is lame. Nonetheless, Dylan nods at my answer. He walks beside me, his hands clasped behind his back. From the corner of my eyes, I can see Shawn shooting us a curios and death glares, as if I'm going to take his boyfriend away from him. It's not really my nature, to take what isn't mine, I mean. I'm not going to do what he has done with his previous boyfriend, Matthew. It really hurt Dylan after he found out that the reason why Shawn went through the Journey was to find his ex-boyfriend, but he met Dylan and he fell in love. I know that what Shawn feels for Dylan is true love, because it's clear in his eyes and also I can feel it. "It's good to hear that you're doing okay," he says, sighing as his shoulders sag down. I almost rub his back but resist the urge to touch him. Physical contact is a no for now, since my feelings are still there for him. He doesn't deserve me, and I don't deserve me. But Dylan and Shawn deserve each other, no matter what happens. "We're still friends, right?" I nod at him. I remember the day when I first met him, when he was lying unconscious on the ground. I was just walking with my wolf named Coffee. After a fight with the creatures I had first encountered two days ago after I had been sent here by the Taurus clan, I found a body lying unconscious on the ground. To say I found a man outside my hometown was shocking, because I thought that we were the only ones living in this world. I never got the impression of this man living in the Taurus city, because I almost knew everybody and anyone there. Plus, he didn't give me the Taurus vibes, which meant that he was either an outsider or just a man from a different world. As I neared him, I saw that the creatures were beginning to surround him, looking at the unconscious man like he was a piece of meat and ready to be eaten. It seemed like they were checking the man, to see if he'd still wake up, but from what I could see, the man was still breathing as his chest rose up and down, indicating that he still had a life. Coffee barked, and that made me roll my eyes at him. So much for keeping our presence low. When the creatures heard the bark of Coffee, I had to act immediately as they began to run towards my direction. Being the most loyal and bravest dog in our town, Coffee lunged at them, meeting one of the creatures half-way. He bit the faceless creature on its arm, and it spurted green blood, which made me cringe upon seeing the blood pooling on the drought ground. When the creatures got at me, I fished the sheathed dagger out of my pocket and kicked the creature that was in front of me. Grabbing the creature's hand on my side, I rolled it and slashed its throat with my dagger, green blood spurting as I pushed him away from me. When one of the centaurs ran at me, I let go of the dagger and it landed on the ground with a clunk, metal meeting the ground as I raised my hands, pink particles surrounding my hands and when the creature's skin landed on my hands, it immediately stopped attacking me. Instead the creature looked at me with curiosity and I commanded him to attack other enemies. With my presence, I fought with the creature I turned against them and spoke words that would strengthen my power on the creature. From the corner of my eyes, I saw the man was rolling, and I suppressed a chuckle because once he rolled, I could clearly see his beautiful face, lips slightly parted. I wondered if he slept like that or if he had just tripped and fell on the ground, knocking himself off. Somehow, somewhat, I could feel like there was a connection between us, but it could just be a feeling and nothing else, nothing important. The fighting took a lot of time, which made sweat cling to my body, shirt sticking up on me and I groaned, wanting the fight to end as soon as possible. Plus I was really getting hungry and I needed a meal and also Coffee. Though Coffee never seemed to get tired of attacking, I knew deep down that he wanted this to end because, who would be willing to fight these creatures for as long as possible? As soon as the fight ended, with the help of the three creatures I mind-tricked and turned against their friends, at the end, I asked them to kill themselves, which was kind of cruel. They helped me, and it felt like I grew a bond with them, but nah, they were monsters with no heart. I walked towards the man's direction and grabbed something in my backpack, which I left on the ground prior to the fight. I took out a blanket and covered him with it just so he could be comfortable. Deciding I would stay to guard the man as he slept, I took a seat near the rock beside the leafless tree, Coffee decided to watch the man as he slept without my command. Coffee was beside the man. Eventually the man woke up, with his eyes squinting at Coffee's direction and  the man decided to scoop Coffee up, which in return Coffee gave him a lick on the cheek, which made me chuckle. Standing up, I decided to introduce myself with him. "Oh you're awake!" I said rather enthusiastic and his eyes snapped into my direction with so much haste I thought his head was going to be ripped off from his body. Now that he was awake, I could see how handsome he was. He seemed to study my features as his eyes roamed around my body, which I completely ignored because it's normal - at least to most of the Taureans - when people gave me looks. "I found you unconscious with the creatures surrounding you. So, I helped you. I was surprised that there's another human wandering in this world. I thought I was the only one, so I decided to help you." I later found out that his name was Dylan, and he's from a town called Pisces, and that he got a deep. caring side and a humor. I also found out that we shared the same power, and that he was already crushing at some man with a pair of chocolate eyes. It turned out that there were other cities beside Taurus.
