Jace and Jenny

As soon as we walked out of Stella's room, Jace turned to me, "Okay, so here's the deal. You're going to be staying with me now. In my room, since I can't let you out of my sight. You will be quiet and do everything I say, you will talk when I tell you to, you will eat, sleep, even breathe when I tell you to, and if you annoy me, I will get rid of you without hesitation. Do I make myself clear?" I stared at him in shock. Is this guy serious? I thought. "Yes. I am very serious, now come on." Before I could reply, he picked me up bridal style, and I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride again. The next thing I knew, I was being shoved into a dark room and would have fallen face-first had he not held the back of my shirt and pulled me up roughly. "Humans," He scoffed, "Such lack of coordination." I heard a clapping sound and the lights switched on to reveal a huge modern-looking room. Much like Stella's had been, except this one was black and white. Back carpet, black walls, a white bed with black sheets, and a white leather sectional sofa lining the wall. There were pale, round lamps hanging from the ceiling that looked like floating spheres, and one wall seemed to be some sort of fountain since there was water running down it like a waterfall. Overall, it looked like it should've been featured in an episode of MTV Cribs. "You like it, huh? I designed it myself." He said as he turned to face me, "You should go take another shower. I'll get you something to eat before we go to sleep." I glared at him, "I'm not hungry." Smiling in a way that made me want to slap him, he replied, "Suit yourself. Your stuff is in the bathroom." The bathroom was the same as Stella's, except there was a big suitcase right in the middle of it. I opened it to find my clothes, as in the clothes that were supposed to be in my room, back in my house. "You were in my house?!" Oh, no, what about my parents? "Don't worry the 'rents weren't home. Bummer, really, it would've been one problem less for me if I had just wiped them out. Now go take a shower, you smell like my sister." "Asshole!" I grunted loudly, pulling at my hair in frustration. Deep breaths, Anna, breathe in, breathe out, I thought to myself. When I had finally calmed down, I dug through my clothes, looking for my pajamas, and found a small bag that I didn't recognize. When I opened it, I found a toothbrush, shaving razors, deodorant, and a hairbrush. Huh, asshole must have bought them for me.  Then I took a much needed, long, warm shower. I decided to shave since I wanted to stay in the bathroom as long as possible, and I probably washed too many times, one with each scented body wash, even the Axe ones, they smelled good and they reminded me of Gabriel. He liked to wear the chocolate one, which I now know is called "Dark Temptation" because I bathed in it. I walked out and got dressed, thanking the universe he had packed my long pajamas because I surely didn't want to be wearing short shorts and a tank top around this guy. When I had brushed my hair and my teeth, I sighed and walked out of the bathroom. Jace was lying on the bed, watching TV. "Finally, I was starting to think you had drowned in there," He said dryly, without looking away from the TV. I looked around the room, eyeing the door. I wondered if I could run fast enough to get out, or maybe I could tiptoe my way over there so he wouldn't notice. I took one step toward the door and he was suddenly standing right in front of me, "Don't even think about it, darling." I gasped and grabbed my chest, making sure my heart hadn't jumped out. He chuckled, "Oh, I'm sorry, did I scare ya? My bad." I just frowned at him. "Don't do that, you'll get wrinkles," he said. Then he grabbed me by the arm and pulled me over to the bed, "Come on, it's late and you need to get some sleep, little human." He jumped on the bed and got under the covers, then he pulled them up, gesturing for me to get in. When I didn't move, he made an impatient gesture and said, "Come on, what are you waiting for?" I narrowed my eyes, "I'm not sleeping anywhere near you." "Really? That's weird because normally girls would do anything to sleep with me. Oh wait, I forgot, you're gay aren't you?" He then tapped his chin, like he was thinking, "Okay, not to worry. I've been known to turn lesbians before." "I'm not gay, and go screw yourself." He smirked, "Nah, I have people who do that for me, and it's weird, you know, the fact that you're not gay, because if I recall well, I caught you in a lip-lock with my sister. Who is a female... And so are you. You are a female, right?" I glared at him before flipping him the finger. He chuckled, "My, my, a little feisty aren't we?" He winked at me, "Well, you're in luck because I happen to like my girls like that. Now come on, don't make me wait." He lifted the covers again and patted the bed beside him. "I'm not sleeping with you." He glared at me, "Fine, suit yourself, you can sleep on the couch," then he lied down and clapped his hands twice, shutting the lights off. I managed to find my way over to the couch in the dark and laid down to find that it was actually pretty comfortable. I would've found it easy to fall asleep too, had it not been for the fact that the temperature made it feel like Alaska in the room.  I wrapped my arms around myself and snuggled into the leather couch, but after what seemed like forever, I was still wide awake and shivering violently. I decided I should keep my mind busy so I wouldn't focus on the cold, but no matter how hard I tried, my thoughts kept drifting back to Stella. Her mesmerizing gaze, her fatal allure, her soft lips, and the way she kissed me. It was driving me crazy, I wanted to be mad at her, but I just couldn't deny that I wanted her. I wanted to see her, I wanted her to kiss me like that again and make me forget about everything. My body ached for her, and I just couldn't wrap my mind around that fact. I didn't understand what it was about her that made me want her so badly. Sure, she had that thing vampires do to lure people in, but then again, so did Jace. He had the same alluring quality, but it didn't make me want to touch him. In fact, I could ignore it pretty easily and it didn't change the fact that I hated the guy. But Stella, I could never have ignored her, and I just couldn't bring myself to hate her. She was a vampire, a filthy bloodsucker, a killer, but I couldn't hate her. I wanted to be in her arms again.  I tried thinking about Gabriel, about my friends, about anything that wasn't her, but my thoughts kept drifting back to her damn kisses, so I stopped fighting it. I just closed my eyes and enjoyed the memory. That is, until Jace rudely interrupted me, "Would you quit thinking about kissing my sister?! it's disturbing," he cried out. Rude vampire boy say what? "You heard me." I gasped, "How do you know what I'm thinking?" "I can read your mind, stupid." "Oh, that's your power then... So you used to be a siren." "Leave it to my sister to be dumb enough to explain that to you. Yes, I used to be a siren, just like you. Now will you please stop plaguing my mind with disturbing images?" "Why don't you just quit reading my thoughts and mind your own damn business?" "I would if I could, but you're practically screaming them at me." "What?" "Stop thinking about it so hard!" "If you had read my thoughts correctly, you'd have realized that I'm trying not to think about it!" I heard him clap and the lights switched on, when my eyes adjusted to the lighting, he was already standing right in front of me. "Come on, you're sleeping with me," He picked me up from the couch as I struggled against his grip. "Let me go! I don't wanna sleep with you." "Shut up. Don't make me bite you." He threw me on the bed and started looking for something on the bedside table. Then he turned to me and grabbed my wrist, putting some pills on the palm of my hand. "Sleeping pills, take them." I eyed him suspiciously. "They're not poisoned or anything, and I promise not to r**e you in your sleep. In fact, that would be disturbing since you still smell like my sister." "Is that supposed to make me feel better?" "Yes, now swallow the gosh darn pills and go to sleep." I figured I had no choice, it's not like I was going anywhere, and I would rather spend my time there unconscious, so I took the pills. He smiled and patted me on the head, "Good girl." "I'm not a dog." He made a face at me, like he was disgusted, "No, you're worse. You're human." Then he clapped his hands and I felt the bed shift, so I scooted as far away from him as possible and made myself comfortable before falling into a deep sleep. __________________________________________ I woke up to the rays of sunlight, I could see it with my eyes closed. Jace must have pulled the blinds open.  I started to wonder whether vampires actually burned up in the sun, but then I opened my eyes and met a huge pair of hazel ones, which caused me to bolt upright and let out a scream of horror.  The stranger screamed as well and jumped a few steps back. She was a young girl, maybe a little older than I was, but not by much. She had big hazel eyes, and she was pretty, maybe too pretty to be human. "I am so sorry, I didn't mean to scare you! Master Trueblood told me to wake you, but then I saw you sleeping and you looked so adorable and... I'm sorry," She gave me a sheepish smile. I eyed her strangely and only managed to say, "Who the hell is Master Trueblood?" "Oh, the Prince. Jace Trueblood." I started laughing bitterly and then covered my mouth to try and hold it back, "His last name is Trueblood? Like the TV show, True Blood, the one about vampires? Oh, that is hilarious." She scratched her head and said, "I guess, I mean the show was named after them." She must have noticed my confused expression because she added, "The Truebloods. The royal family. The show was named after them, and I have a feeling Jace inspired the character of Eric Northman." "Huh," I was about to ask her who she was but she cut me off. "I'm Jennifer, you can call me Jenny. I'll be keeping you company when Jace isn't here." "Are you one of them? You know, a vampire?" She gave me a warm smile. She had a cute smile, and it was fang-less, "No, don't worry, I'm as human as you are." I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, "So, what are you doing here then?" "I told you, Jace told me to--" "I know, I know. I mean why are you here if you're human. I did not think they would hire any humans, Jace doesn't seem very fond of us," I stated. "Oh," She looked uncomfortable, "I'm one of Jace's... consorts?" and the last word came out as a question for some reason. "And what exactly does a consort do, if you don't mind me asking?" "Well... um... tend to his needs, like hunger, I give him blood when he needs it." "Like hunger and what else?" "Um..." She lowered her head and mumbled, "There's also his s****l needs." "HIS WHAT?! Oh please tell me I don't have to sleep with him. Oh, god. He's gonna r**e me." I got up and started pacing around the room in a panic, so she walked up to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "Calm down, if there's anything Jace wouldn't do, it's that. He would never force himself on you, trust me. You don't have to do it if you don't want to, but the blood isn't optional, you have to give him your blood." She made it sound like there was a reason why Jace would never do that, but I didn't ask. I just took a deep breath, "s*x is optional, blood is not. Got it," I then paused and looked at her, "Does he have to bite me?" She chuckled, "Not if you don't want to, he can draw it with a needle, you don't even have to be awake when he does it. In time you'll find that Jace is actually a pretty nice guy, I mean he's got an attitude but he's nothing like his sister. Stella Trueblood," She shuddered at the name, "Now that is someone you do not want to meet. She's like the devil incarnate." She then looked at me strangely, "Unless you've already met her. You have, haven't you? Oh, you poor thing." "How do you know I've met her?" "You flinched when I mentioned her," She sat on the bed and patted the space beside her, "Come on, tell me what she did to you." I gave her a confused look but sat anyway, "What are you talking about?" "Don't worry, you can tell me, she's not here to hurt you." "Hurt me? She wouldn't hurt me." Now it was her turn to give me a confused look, in fact, she looked at me like I had just said I saw a purple unicorn prancing on a rainbow prairie, "She didn't do anything bad?" "Well... I don't know... She, um..." I paused for a long time. "She, um, what?" I looked down and mumbled, "Shekissedme," really quickly. "I'm sorry, I didn't catch that." "Shekissedme," I said just as fast, but louder. I think she understood this time because her eyes widened in shock, "I'm sorry, I don't think I heard right. What did you say?" "Oh for god's sake, she kissed me, we made out!" I tried not to laugh but the look on her face was so funny, she looked like a cartoon, "She KISSED you? As in, kissed you in the mouth?" I nodded with a sheepish smile. "Did she do it by force?" "No, no. I um... I started it." She let out a breath and stared into space with a shocked expression, then she laughed and ran a hand through her long black hair, "Well, that's a new one. So after you guys... well, yeah... was she nice to you?" I nodded, "Mmhm." "Are you sure?" "Yeah, she comforted me and explained everything to me. Everything was going fine until Jace barged in and threatened to kill me, then she almost killed him, and when they calmed down she told me to leave." "And you seem sad about this, because?" "Because I was starting to enjoy her company." She smiled and said, "You like her don't you?" She looked like a schoolgirl getting her hands on some juicy gossip. For a second my thoughts drifted back to school and my friends, but they faded away. "Sure, she's nice." "I mean, like like her. You have a crush on her." "What? No! I have a boyfriend. I like guys." "Really, what's his name?" "Gabriel." "Is he cute, what does he look like?" "He has dark hair and baby blue eyes, he's fit, he has a nice body and the cutest smile, but he smirks and pretends to be a bad boy most of the time." "And the girl you kissed, are you sure it was Stella? What did she look like?" "Well, she was blonde, she had a piercing gaze, her eyes were a grayish-blue color, they seemed silvery sometimes. Her mouth-- I mean smile was um, nice. She basically looked like a Victoria's Secret model," I sighed. "Uh-huh." She looked at me intensely with her eyes narrowed like she was studying me. Then she smiled and started saying, "You have a crush on Stella," over and over again... in singsong. I laughed, "Shut up, no I don't!" Then I put a hand over her mouth and she pushed it away. "Okay, okay, whatever you say. But the way you described her was like a person would describe their lover. I mean the look on your face, you care about Gabriel but you are head over heels for Stella." I crossed my arms and pouted like a little kid, "I am not." "Are you trying to convince me or yourself? Trust me, I'm a singer and if I were to become a vampire my ability would be reading people, not like Jace's because he was a siren. Mine would be more like knowing stuff about people by looking at them, rather than reading minds." "But you're not a vampire, so you don't have that ability yet, do you?" "Fair enough," She smiled, "Come on, let's get you something to eat," She offered me a hand and pulled me up, then she started walking towards the door. "Am I allowed to go out?" "With me, yes. Now come on, I'm hungry and you look like you didn't eat last night." Huh, maybe she is good at reading people. But I don't like Stella, I can't, she's evil. I mean, that's what Jenny made her sound like. And anyway, I have Gabriel, he's perfect for me, what more could I want? Jenny led me down a fancy looking hallway until we reached an elevator. They have an elevator? The place was starting to look more like a hotel. She pressed the button and I looked up at the floor numbers as we waited. They went up to five, and then the elevator doors opened and we got in. She pressed the button for the second floor. "So, how big is this place, exactly?" I asked. "Pretty big, huge in fact. They have everything, it's like their private oasis." "Where are we, anyway?" "We're on an island in the Caribbean. It's impossible for humans to find, they have some spell around it or something. This place is the secret behind the Bermuda triangle, actually." "Great, this is getting weirder by the second." She laughed, "You'll get used to it." Just then, the elevator dinged, the doors opened, and I gasped at what I saw, the place was amazing, one wall was made of glass giving you a good view of the island. There were comfy looking couches everywhere, with little tables in front of them. There was a big screen where the couches were facing, not as big as a movie theater screen, but close enough. There was also a bar and a guy was watching a basketball game on a flat-screen TV behind the bar, he must have worked there because he had what looked like a uniform, a white button-up shirt with black pants and a black vest. The place was a mixture of the living room of a mansion, a hotel lobby, and a... cafe? "I know, it's awesome, isn't it? And this is the least of it, come on," She led me past the bar, and the bartender turned to us and smiled. "Hi, Jenny," He said, "What's got you up so early?" "I'm showing the new guest around." "Really, well introduce us, I haven't met her," He said with a slight accent, Italian maybe. "Paulo, this is Annabelle, Annabelle, Paulo," She said, gesturing at each of us. Paulo smiled kindly and held out his hand, which I gladly shook and was relieved to find that it was warm, "You sure are beautiful miss Annabelle, I would have thought you were a vampire if it wasn't for all the gossip." "Gossip?" I asked at the same time as Jenny exclaimed, "Paulo!" He covered his mouth, "Sorry! I didn't get a lot of sleep last night, you know how dumb I can get when I'm tired. I didn't mean to say that," He said to Jenny, giving her an apologetic look. Jenny sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose, "But you did. So, what are you talking about?" "Not much, just that Jace found a powerful siren and she's got Stella acting all weird." I flinched at her name again, I really need to stop doing that. "What do you mean by weird?" I asked, dying to know what I was causing her and secretly enjoying the fact that I was having an effect on her. "I don't know. She started acting a bit nicer when she met you and when you moved to Jace's wing, she seemed down. I don't think she's left her room and she refuses to eat." Jenny sighed, "And you know this, how?" He shrugged, "The maids talk a lot. They like to gossip." I didn't say anything, but I felt bad, really bad. I needed to see her. Jenny chuckled, "Bye, Paulo. Come on Annabelle, let's go to the kitchen." We started walking down a wide hallway, but Jenny seemed to have noticed the look on my face because she stopped and said, "Are you okay? I wouldn't pay any attention to what he said if I were you, those maids tend to exaggerate a lot." I would have believed her if it wasn't for the feeling in my gut. I was causing her pain, I was sure of it. I had to see her, "Jenny..." "No. I know what you're gonna ask and the answer is no. I can't take you to her." "Please, nobody has to know." "Jace knows everything, he can read minds, remember?" "If you don't help me, I'll find my own way." "I can't let you do that. I like you, I do, and I know we're going to be good friends, but you have to let this go." I sighed, "Fine," this was not over yet. She led me over to a huge kitchen that was as amazing looking as the rest of the castle, no need to go into details. They had a personal chef, of course, so we didn't have to prepare anything, he did it for us. I really liked the chef, he was funny and he seemed like a cool guy, his name was Bryan, and he was Puerto Rican, which made sense since we were near Puerto Rico apparently. I ordered some pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries. It was like ordering breakfast at a restaurant, and the pancakes were better than Ihop's. After we were done eating, I said goodbye to Bryan, and we headed back upstairs, to asshole fanger's room. Yes, that's his name now. Asshole fanger. Fanger is my new word for vampire. That ought to piss him off. We were in the elevator, going up to the fifth floor, but the elevator stopped on the fourth floor. The doors opened to reveal a maid with a cart, she was really pretty and looked about as young as Jenny, who should have been between eighteen and twenty-five.  I made a mental note to ask her later because as the doors were about to close, I heard voices coming from the hall, and I recognized Stella's voice.  So I did what anyone who had ever kissed Stella would have done, I quickly shoved my arm between the elevator doors, stopping them, and ran out of the elevator, into the hall. I could see her at the end of the hall, yelling at someone. She looked angry, but I couldn't hear the conversation. I froze in my tracks when I saw her, she was wearing a black female tux that looked really good on her for some reason, but then again, a potato sack would've looked good on her. She seemed to notice my presence after a few seconds because she sniffed the air and her head whipped to the side.  The moment she looked at me, my heart sped up and my palms started sweating. I didn't know if I was nervous or afraid of her, because she looked pretty scary when she was angry. She suddenly snapped at the guy she was talking to, and he nodded and ran into another hallway. She then turned to me, and I felt someone grab my arm. "Anna! What are you doing? We have to go before..." The rest of her sentence died when she noticed Stella was standing right in front of us. Jenny gulped and I could see the fear in her eyes. She was terrified. I wondered what Stella must have done to gain such a reputation. "Before what?" Stella said sweetly, too sweetly. I had to admit it was pretty scary. Jenny opened and closed her mouth a few times before finally managing to say, "Nothing, I'm sorry your majesty. We shouldn't be here, Anna must have been confused. I'll take her away before she causes any trouble." Stella raised an eyebrow, "Trouble? She doesn't seem like trouble to me," Se said in her sweet, velvety voice. "Did I say trouble? She's no trouble, she just needs to be somewhere else right now," Jenny said, her voice coming out a little high pitched, and the hand that was gripping my arm was shaking. "Really? Well, I wouldn't want to hold you back, then," She turned to leave, but I held her arm, feeling a slight shock when I touched her, she must have felt it too because she flinched. She slowly turned to me and I thought she was going to kill me for a second, but then she gave me a fake smile, "I'm sorry, do I know you?" I slowly dropped my hand, which was still holding onto her, my jaw as well, "Yes, I believe you do," I whispered softly, feeling a sharp pain in my chest. She raised an eyebrow menacingly, "I'm sorry, but all I see is two of my brother's playthings," she said as she pulled a facial expression full of disgust. I felt my heart drop. "Come on Anna, we have to go," Jenny whispered beside me. Stella gave me a cocky smile, "Go on, Anna, you heard her." Jenny pulled my arm, but I wouldn't budge. I wanted to drop dead right there, I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me whole, and if I couldn't do that, I wanted to run as far away as possible, but I was frozen on the spot.  I looked up at the beautiful silvery blue eyes that had once looked at me with such warmth, only to meet a cold gaze that made me shiver. Feeling the tears build up in my eyes, and the air leave my lungs, I managed to say, "Stella... are you serious?" My voice broke, but she got the message. She flinched a little when I said her name, and her jaw clenched when my voice broke, she suddenly looked extremely uncomfortable and her eyes started darting everywhere, avoiding me. When I finally realized what she was doing, I started getting angry, "Look at me and tell me you don't know who I am!" I snapped at her. She looked taken aback, but quickly composed herself, and slowly lowered her gaze to meet my eyes, I could see that she was about to give me that cold look she gave me before, but when our eyes met, her eyebrows furrowed together and she looked sad for some reason. "I... I...", I never thought I would hear her stutter, but there she was, repeating the word 'I', dumbfounded. "You what? Spit it out!" Jenny gasped and gripped me tightly when I raised my voice at her, probably expecting Stella to kill me on the spot.  Stella then gave Jenny a look which made her release her grip on me and step back and turned to me with a murderous glare.  That was it. I was going to die. I prepared myself for the worst, but I wasn't ready for what actually happened.  Her face softened as she grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. She buried her face in my hair and whispered, "I'm sorry." In my ear. I pulled back to glare at her and tell her that I'm sorry doesn't cut it, but when I looked into her eyes, my anger died down and was replaced with warmth and butterflies in my stomach. Stupid butterflies, traitors. She kissed my forehead and my cheek, and then I heard her breath hitch as she slowly made her way to my mouth, her lips tickling my skin. She pulled back before she could finish what she was about to do and said, "Are you mad at me?" I nodded and replied, "Duh," She looked down sadly before I added in a whisper, "Because you were about to kiss me and you stopped." Her features lit up and she gave me a huge grin before crashing her lips into mine. I melted into her kiss, feeling like I hadn't kissed her since forever, and when I was about to deepen the kiss, she pulled back and glared at someone behind me. Oh. I forgot Jenny was still there. Stella gave her a murderous look and snarled like an animal, which I for some reason found really hot. She sounded like a panther, a sexy panther. But when the high from the kiss died down, I playfully hit her arm and said, "Don't be rude." She looked at me and back at Jenny a couple of times before grunting like little kid and saying, "I'm sorry, Jennifer will you please do me a favor and get the hell out of here?" I hit her again. "That's as nice as I get," She snapped at me. I heard Jenny giggle, but Stella glared at her and her giggles became coughing, "I'm sorry your majesty, I'm leaving, but Master Jace will not be happy." She growled at the mention of her brother, and I heard Jenny's retreating steps, it sounded like she was running. Stella laughed and then turned to me and said, "Come on, let's go to my room, I have an idea." She led me down the hall, to the opposite side of where Jenny and I had come from, and we got in another elevator. This one was transparent and you could see the outside of the castle from inside the elevator, it was beautiful. "Yes, my side of the mansion is cooler," She said, making me laugh. We went up to the fifth floor and she dragged me down the hallway before pulling me into her room and kissing me as she closed the door, she backed me up into the bed and laughed when I fell back. She hovered over me before placing a peck on my lips and saying, "I'll be right back," she then disappeared. I sat up to see her coming out of the closet with two swimsuits in her hands. She tossed one at me. "That should fit you, my bikini bottoms will fit you well, but I had to find a smaller top because...", She trailed off. "Because I have no boobs," I finished for her. "No... you have nice breasts," She said, which earned her a blush from my part, "but mine are bigger." That drew my attention to her chest, and I frowned. Of course, they were perfect. Not too big, but not small either, just... perfect. Everything about her was perfect, it was starting to annoy me. "So, when you're done checking me out, can you try it on?" If I wasn't beet red before, I sure was now. I frowned at her and made my way over to the bathroom, slamming the door. I heard her laugh from the other side.  I put the bikini on and was surprised to see that it looked quite nice. Stella had good taste in clothes. I looked sexy. I walked out of the bathroom to find her lying on the bed with a black bikini on, all of a sudden my breath hitched and I felt like a thirteen-year-old boy. Thank goodness I wasn't one because that would have been a problem. "Do you like it?" She said, standing up and twirling around. I couldn't stop blinking with my mouth hanging open like an i***t, so she got up and walked over to me, putting her hand under my chin and closing my mouth, "I'll take that as a yes," She said with a smile before kissing me softly and caressing my back with her soft hands. She pulled back and eyed me up and down, "I like yours too," She winked at me and walked over to the bed, grabbing a pair of towels she had put there. "Where are we going?" I asked. "Indoor pool. It will take my brother forever to find us there because it drowns out the smell. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to try some... stuff." I gulped, "Stuff?" She gave me a suggestive smile and I almost fainted. I guess we're going for a swim then.
