Chapter 1: What a Poser!

1402 Words
"No mom, I didn't but I'll make sure I do." I called before running out the house knowing I was already late. The honk out front told me Jen was going to kill me and drag my corpse into her car if I didn't speed walk my ass to her. I shouted an "I know, I know!" And hurried down the driveway jumping into the car and shutting the door. Having a dirty dream really flusters you and ruins your whole morning routine. She held out a cup of hot tea and I smiled over at her, "You're a life saver." I said over dramatically watching her scoff, "Next time don't make me wait." She said making me laugh a bit at her bitchy tone. Jen is a very angry dark haired girl with light brown eyes and a tiny body that the jocks call a 'preteen boys' body. "Can you text Roma and let her know if she isn't outside I'll leave her?" Jen asked as she took a drink of her coffee and turned down Roma's street. I texted Roma and earned a 'A warning? She must be in a good morning today.' In response. Yeah, I've noticed too. As we pulled up to Roma's house, she was leaning against the mailbox staring at us with a small smirk before she got in. Jen drove us to the school and parked in her paid for spot before we got out of the car adjusting our clothes and bags. Senior year, that meant we would be finished with this endless tyranny of popularity and the only thing that will actually matter is how much we make and at what time we get married. Some people like Jen are wealthy out the ass, they get-"Oh s**t! Look it's Nate." Roma elbowed my tit and I gave her a small scowl before looking to Nate. He had his shaggy brown hair brushed back and a dimple like smile that just melts your heart straight away. So hot. "He should be your first." Jen said thoughtfully and out loud idiotically. I shrugged and brought my tea to my lips taking a drink, in my dream it was a hunky dark haired guy with a smoldering stare. The thing is, I've never been with anyone in my life, in real life. Girls get their first kisses so quickly, they even lose their virginity that quick, I just never really wanted to. Now I'm a senior, a super virgin and labeled 'Saint Iman.' It's stupid. Especially since now that everyone knows, I have all these pigs hounding me for it, trying to turn the 'Good girl to bad' but I don't like that type of crap. I don't want to be a bad girl, I'm just not interested in it. "I can't be late another day, I'm going to get a detention." Jen said hurrying past us and into the school. Biting my lip, I stared over at Nate curiously. He was handsome, sweet and nothing like the other guys but I can't get myself to be with a guy like him. He's too popular and I think that's the same type of commitment as dating a celebrity. It's just not my crowd. Roma took my arm and guided me up and into the school to our lockers where we grabbed our English books and scurried to class before the bell rang. I sat down beside Roma and she took a big bite of her apple before scowling ahead. My eyes followed to Caroline who wore her hair in a super high stupid ponytail with a leopard print scrunchie in. I hate that b***h. She started the rumor that I'm planning to be a sister so I'm saving myself for the worship of god...hence the nickname Saint Iman. We all settled down in our seats and the door opened a moment later. The guy stared over at Miss Roswell and she turned looking to him, "Oh you're the new student! I almost forgot we were getting a new student. Class, this is-" she gave him a questionable look. He stared over at all of us with a bored look, "Everett." He said looking back at the teacher with a small smirk on his lips. What a cocky looking son of a b***h? Gee why does he have to try and be all hard and bad? Try hard. I watched as he headed to a seat in the back and I looked back staring over at his dark hair brushed back and his dark green eyes staring up at the professor. He even sat in the chair like he owned it. What a poser! "I think he's kind of attractive. Like a Batman type of sexy, you know?" Roma whispered over to me and I gave her a look of confusion before focusing back to the front. Batman? What the hell? I laughed softly and shook my head at her before beginning to take notes as Miss Roswell spoke.  By the time lunch came around, there was a rumor started that he was a freak, that he apparently can read minds. It didn't take long, but I mean this school-this town, is very small. Rumors and nicknames have a hard way of fading. I brought a fry to my lips taking a bite while I watched him curiously. Roma jolted her elbow into me and I glared at her, "You heard the rumors. We should start wearing those aluminum foil helms people wear to keep aliens from their mind." She said looking to me with complete seriousness. Roma was a blonde who always had new hair colors at the tip of her hair, and she often wore her hair in space buns or in really messy buns. She was exactly what I'd expect the word 'Eccentric' to look like as a person. She even got a tattoo of a flower on the back of her neck and the number 3 on her collarbone. She usually dresses just as...eccentric. I tossed a fry at her and rolled my eyes, "This isn't some movie or book Roma, people can't read minds." I said giving her a look. Jen shrugged, "I don't know, I mean Kassie tested it by asking him a question from her mind and he responded out loud. I don't know how much more proof anyone needs." She said eyeing Everett over. He sat alone at the table with headphones on, a book in his left hand and a burger in his right. To me he just looked like a normal guy, he shouldn't get this much attention anyways, he's got a big head as it is. Well at least that's what I got from his body language. Jen smirked at me, "Should we try it out? Let's all think of the sexiest things we could. Ready?" She whispered while laughing sinisterly. Oh Jen, always up for stupid torture. I'm not thinking of anything sexy, she's an i***t. I took a bite of my fry and then popped open the top bun putting some of the fries inside the burger before closing it again and taking a bite. Fries in anything taste so good. Anything. Lunch finished and I was rushed by Jen to our next class while I tried to down the last of my soda. Tossing the can in the recycle bin, I headed inside with her but she gave me a shove into the room and I stumbled a bit before landing into someone. Shit. I stood upright and got back to my footing before glaring at Jen, "Seriously? Being late isn't the end of the world, psycho." I said to her before going to my seat and sitting. Jen was laughing and staring at me, "We're on time though, right?" She said pridefully. Idiot. I dropped my book bag beside me and regretted it immediately when the new guy Everett tripped over my bag. His hand slammed onto my desk and his other hand landed onto the floor to stop himself from landing face first. Everett looked to me annoyed and scowled over with so much hatred. Gee, it's just a trip, calm down. He stood up and walked to the back to sit while I moved my bag under my seat to avoid that happening with anyone else. One scowling devil stare is enough for one day. He's such a pissy guy.
