"Mom." I whine out hanging up my coat from a long day of school as I walked into the kitchen where my mother was cooking and my brother Jordan was sitting on the island smiling at me. "Hey baby Jay." He smiles as I run into his arms hugging him tightly. "What are you doing back?" I squeal excitedly as I lean out of his arms. "Well someone kind of burned down the school, don't ask because I don't know who but." He shrugs smiling. "I'm back home." "Meaning he will be going to your school." My mom places food in front of us with a smile. "My two babies back home together." "Wait." I back away from him. "He was in a military school... For deliquents." "We aren't all that bad." Jordan scoffs at my assumption. “You went because you filled the teacher lounge with farm animals and set the fire alarm so that when the sprinklers came out it sprayed milk.” I give him a pointed look as my mom laughs. “I have the right to assume.” “Look, I’m back, most of the students aren’t bad and it’ll be fun.” He smiles as we both dig in to our mothers food. Jordan and I was one year apart but because of him not giving a damn about school he and I are in our senior year together and now that he’s going to my school my mom expects him to graduate along with me, which I think would be best. Jordan is my brother and best friend and I’m so glad he was back, texting and FaceTiming almost everyday wasn’t cutting it anymore. Thankfully to get me through my sophomore and junior year was my best friends were Hazel and Theo. We were all friends before Jordan got shipped off but now that he’s back it’ll be fun. The whole weekend my brother and I just hang around in his room watching our favorite shows and catching up on our favorite you tubers that we try and watch together. It was nice to have him back home with us even though I was concerned about school. He was a troublemaker but hopefully we can get through this year without any problems. ❧ “Jade! What’s taking so long.” Hazel walks into my house Monday morning as Jordan and I grab out backpacks as she squeals jumping on him. “Jordan! When did you arrive?” “Friday.” He laughs hugging her. “I’m glad that I’m back with you guys.” “Let’s Go! Theo will be stoked.” She giggles jumping out of his arms and grasping my hand pulling me to the car. Theo was in the driver seat shades on and smoking a cigarette. He only does that when he’s stressed, especially before we even get to school grounds, I wonder what’s on his mind. “Theo darling.” Jordan Jokes as He glances at Jordan a smirk forming on his face. “Well if it isn’t the love of my life.” He says as we all get in the car. They shake hands as Jordan and I sit in the back and Hazel in the front with Theo. “I heard about your school.” “Yeah, it’s stupid but I can’t complain.” Jordan sighs happily leaning back against the seat as Hazel laughs. We continue on our way to school as we get there it’s more packed than usual but Theo is able to get his usual parking spot. Luckily for our school we wore uniform. Of course I would be against it but it helped that I had a set outfit to wear everyday. “Fuck.” Theo grumbles hopping out the car and lighting another cigarette. “What’s wrong?” I ask him as he smiles that award winning grin that I’m used to. “s**t. Since that school burn down my cousins go here.” He sighs rolling his eyes. “And hes a terror and a bother for more reasons than one.” “Don’t worry. We are a month in our senior year.” I cheer him up as he smiles blowing his smoke away from my face. He knew I wasn’t fond of his smoking but he’s been smoking less than what he’s used to. “You’re Right.” He flicks the bud wrapping his arm around me as we catch up to Hazel and my brother. “Hey cunts, leaving us?” “Keep up.” Hazel smirks leading Jordan to the office which was packed. Hazel grips my arm as the bell rings. “Stay with your brother.” “Duh.” I Kiss her forehead as she blushes walking away from us. No Hazel and I aren’t together but I do enjoy seeing her fluster. I played for the other team but she played for the same team and that will never change our friendship. “Theo do you need to get to class?” “Nope. I’ve been trying to find a reason to avoid my first period.” He nods at my brother. “Hopefully we have some classes together.” “Yeah and I can cheat on your work.” Jordan adds as Theo laughs. “If you want to fail sure.” “Jordan.” A guy nods at him and Jordan nods back. “Meet at lunch.” “Cool.” He says as Theo looks at him as if he’s crazy. “Don’t f*****g tell me.” He snaps whispering as Jordan glances at him slightly. “Don’t worry Theo.” Jordan says as I look between the two. “What have I miss?” ~ “I hate boys.” I tell Hazel as we both sat in the bleachers during PE. The class was full and that’s because of a lot of the new comers. The PE coach decided today would be a good day to do dodge ball and Hazel and I purposely got out because this game was complete bullshit. “I’ve been.” She laughs as I glare at her. “Your Brother will tell you when he’s ready, as for Theo you know his family is apart of the mafia. Of course we don’t judge him on that.” “I know but he was even pissed that my brother was into that s**t as well.” I explain as she smiles. “Sometimes it’s good to be ignorant. When you know too much you end up getting hurt.” she puts her hand on mine as I huff rolling my eyes knowing she’s right. I guess I can wait. After a dreadful class of gym Hazel and I head out separate ways to class then meeting up and to find our way to lunch sitting with a stressed looking Theo. He was playing with his cigarette box as if he was contemplating on if he should smoke another one of not. “Gimme.” “Thanks.” He mumbles as she stuffs the box in her bag and I share my lunch with him. “Sorry Jade but-“ “No it’s okay, I kind of don’t want to know so whatever you have to do to knock some sense into my brother, please do it.” I smile as he smiles back at me. “You know it.” I was hoping that my brother would meet us but he never showed for lunch. The next class I had with Theo and we walk down the hall where I see my brother still talking to that guy with two others. I feel Theo grab my hand shaking his head as I sigh. How is it I get my brother back and he’s mixed into s**t already. Him and I walk down the hall to our class and we get to our usual seats as the bell rings. “Late.” The teacher says to the new people as I pull out my notebook for this class. “f**k me.” Theo grumbles as one of the guys look up and at Theo and I with a deadly smile. I glance down at my notebook in hand. The guys get seated and they sit close to Theo and I. I feel my phone vibrate as I check and it’s a text from Theo saying to relax. I knew this was going to turn out bad.
