Her mate

I'm looking out the passenger window. We've been driving now for the last 9 hours from my home town, the place i grew up, to our new home in Bend, Oregon. This is the place where my mom met my dad, the place they fell in love and the place they had me before my moved my across the country. I'm not angry at my mom for moving, although it was really sudden. I was suppose to start my senior year in two weeks, but a week ago my mom decided that we had to move back to the place i was born, the place i never knew, the place i've only heard about thought my mom. She always told me stories about how she was on holiday just driving thought the city when she saw the most beautiful man she ever lai an eye on. It was love at first sight. Shortly after they met she realized that she was pregnant with me, but she had already left Bend by then and was back to Philadelphia. When she told my father that she was pregnant he was so happy. She went back to Bend and stayed there with him. Soon after i was born there were an animalattack and my father was in the middle of it. He didn't make it. After his death she moved back to Philadelphia and raised me there. We've been there for the last 17 years and now we're moving back to where it all began.      "Julia, what are you thinking about, you've been so quiet for the last half an hour." my mom Molly asks     "Sorry mom, I was just thinking about how you and dad met. It's such a romantic and sad story. That's all" she looks at me and give me a sad smile.      "It's going to be weird coming back, but i think it's going to be good for the both of us." She is silent for a little bit before she get a huge grin on her face. "But on a happier note, it's you birthday soon and you'll turn 18, that's big! My little girl is all grown up."     "Haha, funny mom. I'm not that grown, it's only 18, it's not a big deal." Mom looks at me with a shocked look. "Of course it's a bit deal! My little girl is turning 18 on the10 of August, it's only a week away."     "Yeah i know" After that the rest of the ride was quiet. An hour went past til my mom starting slowing down the car and pulled over to a small dirt road. At the end of the road was the most beautiful house i had ever seen. To say it was big was an understatment. It was a the storey victorian house with a gardens that was so big. The whole house was surrounded by forest and the garden was a bit overgrown.      "Mom, this house is beautiful!" I took a closer look at the house. It had large windows and a cozy terrace with a swing on it.      "Thank you dear, this is where your father and I lived before everything. The garden is a bit overgrown and the house probably need a lot of cleaning. All these years i just didn't have the heart to sell this place." I looked over at my mom     "Are you saying that this is dads old place?" Suddenly i got a lot more exited. This is where my dad used to live, maybe i'll get to learn a bit more about him since my mom won't tell me anything except that he was loving, that he was really exited when he learned that he was going to become a father and how they met. Maybe there is something left of him here, something, anything that can tell me what kind of man my father was, or even what his job was.      "Yeah, it was. I hope everything is fine inside the house." With that we both got out of the car and made our way to the house.
