Chapter One: Isabelle POV
I was reading a bedtime story to Lucy and Sophia when I heard the roar of engines becoming gradually louder then I heard the Germans dropping their bombs. Sadly, the blitz has begun again. “Edmund get away from there! Peter!” Mrs. Pevensie yelled calling for Peter to come. “What do you think you're doing, Edmund?” I heard Peter yell. “Boys quickly get to the shelter now! Isabelle, can you get the girls and get them to the shelter, your mother is waiting for us there!” Mrs. Pevensie yelled. “Ok.” I yelled. “Mommy?” Lucy called out as I pulled her out of her bed. “Come on Lucy we need to go.” I said as Susan ran into the room and grabbed things from next to her bed with a flashlight. Sophia, Lucy, Susan and I started running down the stairs and out the door. “Come on!” Peter yelled as he pulled Edmund down the stairs and out the door. We all got down to shelter. Me, my Sister and my mother were currently living with the Pevensie as there is a shortage of Anderson shelters. Mine and Sophia’s mother was there with the shelter door open and we all ran inside. “Mum!” I said as I gave my mother a hug then we all sat down on the bed. Lucy, Susan and Sophia started crying. “It’s okay.” I said as I tried to comforted them all as they cried, huddling against me. Suddenly, Edmund turned and started head out the door as if he forgot something. “Wait! Dad!” Edmund shouted as he ran back to the house. “Edmund! No!” Mrs. Pevensie yelled. “We will get him!” Peter yelled as he ran after his brother. “Peter! Come back!” Mrs. Pevensie yelled. “They're going to be okay, Helen.” My mother said as both boys disappear for our sight. A couple of minutes past and a bomb land quite close to the house suddenly the window blew in. “Come on, you i***t! Run!” Peter yelled at Edmund as they head back out. “Get out!” Peter yelled as they started heading for the shelter. When they arrive at the shelter, Peter threw Edmund onto the ground and started shouting. Edmund collapsed on the floor, my mother sat down next to Mrs. Pevensie. “Why can't you think about anyone but yourself? You're so selfish! You could've got us killed!” Peter yelled at his brother. “Why can't you just do as you're told?” Peter yelled as he slams the shelter door then he came and sat next to Sophia. He hugged Sophia while Lucy cried into my arms and Susan into Mrs. Pevensie arms. A Few Hours Later: “You know, you're being a bit harsh to Edmund.” Sophia told Peter. “He almost died, Sophia.” Peter replied. “But you have to let him know gently.” I explained. “I know.” Peter said sighing as I brushed Lucy's hair out of her face. Sophia laid her head on Peter’s shoulder then they fell asleep. “Isabelle, when do you think the war will be over?” Lucy asked. “The Great War went on for four years so I don’t know.” I said. “I hope it ends soon.” Lucy said. “Me too.” I said as we hugged each other, I looked around to see everyone asleep. The Next Morning: I heard Susan and Lucy giggling as I woke up. When I opened my eyes, I looked over to Sophia and Peter, and I saw that Peter had his arm around her. Their giggles exploded into laughter, waking up the others. Peter removed his arms before our mothers looked at them. Mrs. Pevensie checked to see whether the Air raid was over. “It’s finally finished.” Mrs. Pevensie said as we all stood up and headed for the house. When we got into the house, my mother and Mrs. Pevensie started making breakfast. “Children, you’re going to the country.” Mrs. Pevensie said, handing breakfast to us. “Why?” Lucy asked, looking at her mother. “It’s not safe for any of us.” I replied, wanting to leave for everyone safety. “Edmund and Peter almost died last night.” Mrs. Pevensie said. “Mother?” Susan said as she looked up at her mother. “I will be okay, dear. When you come back, your father will be back and we will be a family again.” Mrs. Pevensie said as she patted her daughter’s hand. “I have a friend in the country, who will take you all in.” My mother said and we all nodded. When we all finished eating, Lucy and Susan headed to their room to pack. While me, Sophia and our mother went home to pack for me and Sophia, I finished packing then I headed to the Pevensie. I entered Susan’s and Lucy’s room and I heard sniffling then I looked and saw Lucy crying. “Lucy.” I said as I pulled her into my lap. “I don’t want to leave, Mummy.” Lucy said crying. She hasn’t been away from her mother for very long. “Me too, Lucy.” I replied, rubbing her back. “What wrong?” Susan said as she entered the room looking at us very worryingly. “Lucy doesn’t want to leave your mother.” I said as Susan came and sat next to us. “It will be alright me and Isabelle will be there as well as Edmund, Peter and Sophia.” Susan said hugging us. “And the war won’t last forever, Lucy.” I said. Our word seemed to calm her down. At the Train Station: “You will need this, dear.” Mrs. Pevensie said as she pined a paper on Lucy. “All warm?” My mother asked us and we all nodded. “Good, darlings.” Mrs. Pevensie said. “If Dad was here, he wouldn’t make us go.” Edmund said. “Edmund, if Dad was here then that would mean we wouldn’t have to go.” Peter said. “Be careful, girls.” My mother said to me and Sophia as she hugged us. “Sophia, will you confess to Peter.” Our mother said as Sophia blushed. “Ok, mother.” Sophia said. “You will listen to your brothers, won't you Edmund?” Mrs. Pevensie asked as she looked at Edmund, but he doesn’t say anything. “How about Isabelle? Will you listen to her?” Mrs. Pevensie asked as she looked at Edmund once again and he nodded. Mrs. Pevensie, know how much Lucy and Edmund love me. She tried to kiss Edmund but he recoils then she hugged Peter. “Promise me you'll look after the others, including Isabelle and Sophia.” Mrs. Pevensie asked them. “Peter, will you confess to Sophia.” Mrs. Pevensie said as Peter blushed. “I will, mum.” Peter said as he hugged her back. “Good men.” Mrs. Pevensie said then she hugged Susan. “Susan, be a big girl. Alright, off you go.” Mrs. Pevensie said. “Take care of them, Isabelle and Sophia.” Our mother said. “We will, Mum.” I said as we smiled at her. We all started walking towards the train, I holded Lucy hand and followed Peter. “Get off. I know how to get on a train by myself. Get off me!” Edmund yelled as he pulled his hand out of Susan's hand. “May I have your ticket please?” The train conductor asked Peter. Sophia grabbed the tickets from Peter and gave the ticket to the train conductor because Peter was distracted by soldiers going off to war. “On you go.” The train conductor said to us. “Yes, thank you.” I said as Sophia, Peter, Edmund and Susan got onto the train. I got on the train before Lucy then turned and held out my hand for Lucy to grab. Lucy grabbed my hand and I pulled Lucy onto the train. “Thank you, Isabelle.” Lucy said. “You’re very welcome. Milady.” I said as I took Lucy and put her onto my shoulders. “Everything will be alright, Lucy. We just have to stick together. It's going to be fine, Lucy. We'll all be together.”  I said as we looked out the window of the train and waved to our mothers. “Goodbye, my darlings.” Our mothers yelled as they waved and the train pulled out of the station. “Let’s go and find a place to sit.” I said. We started looking and after a couple of minutes had passed, we finally found a carriage with two siblings in the carriage. “When are you going to confess to Peter?” Susan asked Sophia. “I don't know.” Sophia replied. “Do it soon, or I'll will.” I said to Sophia. “Okay!” Sophia whispered as we walked in and put our stuff onto the board above the seats. We sat down as we watched the countryside pass by. After a few hours, we finally had reached our stop and we grabbed our suitcases from the board above the seats then we headed off the train and we arrived in train station that was in the middle of nowhere.
