Normal Teenage Girl

495 Words
I'm Aniey, I'm seventeen, I have loving parents, I'm an only child.  It's early in the morning... Wait! What day is it? Oh my gosh! I just remembered that today is graduation day. How dumb could I be to forget the most important thing of a teenagers life.  As I slowly let it sink into my thoughts that I'm graduating today, I look over at my alarm clock, it's 6:30 a.m.  That's means that I only have about two hours to get dressed and eat breakfast. While I'm having trouble deciding to take a shower first or wait until after breakfast I suddenly am startled by a knock on my door.  Hunny, aren't you going to wake up anytime soon? You better not have hit snooze on your alarm clock and went back to sleep, says my mother.  I'm awake mom! I protest with a groan. I'm going to take a quick shower and get dressed. I'll be down in a few.  She replies with and agitated but brief, "okay". I hear her walk back down the stairs and once I know hear her yelling at my father to get dressed and wear something nice I quickly jump in the shower and wash my hair. I make sure to shave my legs too because I have to look in my sun dress that I picked out to wear to graduation.  I absolutely dread putting on my cap and gown because I absolutely despite our school colors. Say what you want Maroon and Gold do not look that great together. Especially with my tan skin.  I get out of the shower and dry off as quickly as I can. I run to find my beautiful sun dress. It's absolutely stunning. It's a knee length white dress with Sunflowers printed all over it. It really shows off my hourglass figure. I quickly run downstairs so I can grab a bite to eat. I'm so nervous that I don't really have much of an appetite. I know it's graduation, I know I shouldn't be nervous but I absolutely hate crowds and I didn't talk to half of the people I went to school with so everyone's pretty much strangers to me except for my two best friends, Amanda and Emily. We have been friends since we were in Elementary school.  While I'm thinking about how today is going to go I quickly throw on some light makeup. I add a little bit of eyeshadow, grey so it's a bit of a, "smokey eye",look. Then I quickly do some eyeliner, mascara, and some light pink tinted lipgloss. Then I hear mom. "Hurry up we're going to be late", she says.  Mom it's fine, I still have an hour before we're, "late". She chuckles, "Well your father and I want to get a good parking spot", she says. About that time my father walks in tying his tie. " We do"? "Yes of course dear", she snaps. We all rush out to the car and make our way to the school.
